    In order to establish the size of the cable tray section that you need to cut out of one side of the tray in order to make a pre-determined degree of set, you first have to establish a number by dividing the degree of set against 90 degrees, then divide that number against the width of the tray you are working with. For example, to make 30° degree off-set in a 600mm tray you divide 90° by 30° = 3 then divide 600mm by 3 = 200mm, which is the amount of section you cut out of one side of the tray to get a 30° set. Or something more difficult to make a 19° set in a 600mm tray, it would be 90° divided by 19° = 4.74 , then divide 600 by 4.74 = 126.5mm

    • @box4blox
      @box4blox 4 года назад +2

      Just in addition to above if you need to calculate the size of cable tray to cut out to make an off-set of 300mm in a 600mm tray over a distance of 1800mm between brackets, you work out a number by dividing the distance between sets ( in a straight line no on diagonal) by the width of the tray and then divide the size of the off-set by that number. Eg. 1800mm ÷ 600 = 3, so size of cut-out in cable tray would be 300mm ÷ 3 = 100mm. Once you have done the first set, it is best to position in place to ensure the second off-set cut on the other side of the tray is in the right place.

    Good day Zion.
    Are we assuming that the cable tray used for this calculation is 100mm in height? and
    also, can you please clarify where the 45 degree came from (used in the calculation) as well as the 4cm and the 1.5cm for 30 degs? Are they constant? or did i miss something?
    Otherwise, totally awesome video.
    Best regards with much thanks.

      Hello sir,regarding the height your correct 10cm or 100mm,4cm is the corresponding equivalency of 45 degree therefore if you want to get the portion of 30 degree out of 45 degree you shoul devide them together for example 45÷30=1.5 it will give you the corresponding value of 30 degree,now to get the cutting the V-shape cut you need to devide 4÷1.5 this will be the cutting of you 30 degrees hope you enlighten thanks

      Just follow the video sir,for example if you got the hypothenuse(c) you will just simply divide with adjuscent(b).for example if c=20 b=10.10÷20=0.5
      Then convert 0.5 to angle by simply typing on your calculator
      Sine-1(0.5) the answer will be 30 degree

    How can i know, I need 30° offset

    • @electricalinsider2536
      @electricalinsider2536  2 года назад +1

      It is a case to case basis first if you are making a offset for large diameter of cable probably you don't need 45° offset because it will stress out your cable 30 degree offset is the best choice for you second if need a smoother offset either large or small cables runs through it I would suggest 30 degrees or lower angles would probably fit.

    The starting point for measuring the distance is the part where the bend starts from the center line of the break point.
    Distance from centerline to centerline is 200mm +26.79mm
    The distance from the line you marked is (200mm-26.79mm=173.21mm).
    Not 20 cm.

    This is not the calculation at all. You would need to know the ht to get the tan()s. 10/sin(30) and add 1 tangent (( say 10cm ht x tan(30/2) which would be a tan of 1.6cm) to the travel.
    20cm + 1.6cm = 21.6cm

      45 degree kc yung refference point natin sir,so para makuha mo yung corresponding value ng 30 degrees kelangan idivide mo siya sa 45 degree for example 45÷30 =1.5 now since 45 degree is 4cm katumbas niya idivide mo naman ngayon sa 4÷1.6=2.6cm ang equivalent ng 30 degrees
