You can also use the Command spell to make Commander Zhalk drop his weapon to maximize the stalling time. The weapon is pretty good greatsword that deal bonus fire damage, so it's worth something.
In most playthroughs I did I had shadowheart use Command for him to drop his weapon and steal the weapon from him to kill him, it works just fine, and since he has no weapon he does no damage

Mind flayer then turns on you so be prepared for that. Killing either or last hitting the mindflayer instead of the captain are both worth 75 xp each
Use the purple things there's plenty of turns to let commander and the mind flayer whittle each other's hp down while you position them and then you blow up the purple things and take the sword.
If u want a truely broken sword play gith and use command drop weapon on voss (dragon rider close to the mountain pass waypoint) One of the if not the strongest melee weapons the entire game.
You "Can" kill Commander Zhalk and the 2 Cambions. But from my experience, this is only possible as a Barbarian due to the buffs Rage gives you and with full help from Shadowheart Lea'zel and Us (Plus, you have to keep the Mindflayer alive) It's worth it. He has 350-ish gold. The strongest great sword you'll find in Act 1. And (depending on your class) some really solid armour The Cambions are just free XP. Total I think you get 600Xp from all 3 of them. Which is a serious boost. Gives you level 3 by the time you reach the grove.
@@nightcorefusion3884 Shadowheart has command spell you can switch to on the ship. You can command Zhalk to drop his weapon. It's like 50% chance might need to save scum a bit.

Curious about the idea of simply knocking out the Leaders of the Goblin Camp (sparing them .. sorta), fulfill Saving the Grove quest. Then going back later, in Act 2 or Act 3, to "Clean House," as it were. If you Knock out Minthara in Goblin Camp, can you still possibly get her as a companion later. Slaughter may be dark; but slaughter + betrayal is darker still.
Just wanna point out that you can only go back to the Act 1 maps until like the middle of Act 2. And once you reach Act 3, Act 1&2 are completely unavailable

It's nice. I did a Dark Urge run with a full team, and it's at this point that I know enough to do a solo run (not necessarily Dark Urge). After that run I thought I thought rogue would be my choice were I to go solo, but that's not true. When I go solo I'll probably choose hunter.

The canonical dragonborn dark urge is badass. I really hate that Larian doesn't take this character into consideration when making animations or the cover of the same. I mean, he's not even on the cover of the game, this being the canonical playable character.

This build was just a level 12 oathbreaker paladin. I can elaborate if you want, though feel free to drop by a stream or check out the newer videos. I try to go in depth more than I did this video
@SlothyTheDemon as long as you're even level with the enemy, you should be in a position to take then on, unless it's a boss. Besides that you typically get stronger through items so check shops and loot as much as you can for good drops
Thats true, though theres no two handed adamantine weapon so really all I cared about was the armor. I did end up crafting a sword though which was helpful for negating sturdy on some objects so you can break them down easily.
Here we go, another milk drinker that hates anyone who reloads a save in a game where people have the right to play however they want. Let me guess, you're also the type to avoid games like Sekiro and Elden Ring because you hate reloading saves just to defeat a boss. 😂 You don't have the patience or the endurance necessary for games like that anyway. The cloak you get from dark urge makes solo tactician removes any real challenge. But at least being melee makes it a bit harder, harder to be perma invis.
I'm doing this in my next playthrough and sleeping with as many as possible. Keeping them until they commit and then killing them. Rescue and then kill them. Only Keeping minthara. Because I killed her on my good play through.

Any sort of buff to the mindflayer and debuff to the captain will do just fine, chuck healing potions at the mindflayer if he takes to many hits. Mind flayer then turns on you so be prepared for that. Killing either or last hitting the mindflayer instead of the captain are both worth 75 xp each
And he becomes the new elden lord. May chaos take the world!
Use the purple things there's plenty of turns to let commander and the mind flayer whittle each other's hp down while you position them and then you blow up the purple things and take the sword.
If u want a truely broken sword play gith and use command drop weapon on voss (dragon rider close to the mountain pass waypoint)
One of the if not the strongest melee weapons the entire game.
You "Can" kill Commander Zhalk and the 2 Cambions. But from my experience, this is only possible as a Barbarian due to the buffs Rage gives you and with full help from Shadowheart Lea'zel and Us (Plus, you have to keep the Mindflayer alive)
It's worth it. He has 350-ish gold. The strongest great sword you'll find in Act 1. And (depending on your class) some really solid armour
The Cambions are just free XP.
Total I think you get 600Xp from all 3 of them. Which is a serious boost. Gives you level 3 by the time you reach the grove.
You dont even need to kill him to get the sword, just use shadowheart to command him to drop the weapon.
@@SuperKratosgamer Shadowheart can do... what?
@@nightcorefusion3884 Shadowheart has command spell you can switch to on the ship. You can command Zhalk to drop his weapon. It's like 50% chance might need to save scum a bit.
Yeah you can definitely kill him, I meant as solo/tactician. You can probably eek out a win though I figured it wasn't worth it
@@Pheeon On normal difficulty, you can just collect the purple tanks and blow them all up around him when he is like half HP, wouldn't that work on Tactician too?
I salute your tactical mind good sir 🫡
Ok, this was fucking impressive. Kudos dark brother.
My favorite Dark Urge inspiration is making the Goblin go fetch his bone after he send the hyena do its death at the beginning of act 2
You can do it even if you aren't dark urge
@@UnluckyPizzubut it only gives inspiration to dark urge. Please read the comment before replying
Crippling US allows you to pick it up as a companion at the end of act 2 its in the same place as the lobotomized bugbear at the verry end
u dont have to cripple US you can just save him and it will do the same
@@gamblinoob ... then i guess it needs to survive the boss fight at the end of the prologue cuz i havent seen him.
@@plamenyonkov9154 Obviously? Did you think it would just revive from the dead and be like "waddup?" lol
@@Moehre040 Thank you for the info. Much appreciated.
Also, apparently, temporarily "knocking someone out" still registers as a kill to the AI.
Thanks again for getting back to me.
@@darinsingleton3553yup it honestly feels like the non lethal feature was only added in to prevent paladins from breaking their oath and since ai and the game itself counts it as a death, even though it says they’re knocked out temporarily, they never wake up, a missed opportunity really but I understand why they didn’t, the game would probably have gotten delayed if it was an actual feature
This is nuts. Don’t know why but This game reminds me of Overlord anime
It'd be neat if you can play as an undead like in divinity 2, you can get true ainz gameplay lol
When he said "In balls names" i rlly feel that 🤧🤧
I am starting to believe that Dark Urge is canon!
It's nice.
I did a Dark Urge run with a full team, and it's at this point that I know enough to do a solo run (not necessarily Dark Urge). After that run I thought I thought rogue would be my choice were I to go solo, but that's not true. When I go solo I'll probably choose hunter.
"I didn't have the footage for this fight" == "I quick-save reloaded over 800 times here and it wasnt good content"
For Grym? Nah, but when I went back to get footage all the autosaves had expired already so i couldnt record shite
Just beat him up with my fists though on the fists only run, no savescums required
OMG and you do it all alone!
Thank you! As you saw it took 1000 autosaves, though mostly they were out of combat saves, I did do a lot of experimenting since it was my first playthrough
I like this but I had to look away during the shadowcute and karlach encounter
Wow, Dude Awesome!! I want to give this a whirl now. :)
I think it would be cooler if you've used options provided by narration to kill companions tho
True, actually happened a few times since the game really likes resurrecting your party members lol
could you kill Shadow heart, then leave the artifact on the ship? what would happen? I assume it would magically make its way to you like how it does normally.
Yup, it'll be on shadowhearts body. It's even on her body when it's in your inventory
how to play lone wolf, i choose it in feats section ? In DoS2 there was i think lone wolf option to click at character creation or with leveling i cant remember right but i havent seen such in bg3, possibly overloooked it i dont know
Nope you were thorough, there is no Lonewolf feat. That being said if you want to try your own run just use one party member. You won't get any bonus xp however
so weird just to have your party members coming in and out, then no footage of the actual fights, when it's just save scumming galore
Yeah save scumming galore is needed (especially since this was my first playthrough) if I was smart I would've resurrected them, dismissed them, then killed them but I'm not!
Feel free to hit up a stream if you want to watch a full run, most of the combats muddled together and played the same
The canonical dragonborn dark urge is badass. I really hate that Larian doesn't take this character into consideration when making animations or the cover of the same. I mean, he's not even on the cover of the game, this being the canonical playable character.
thanks for uploading this video because I just cannot be mean to fictional pixels
I’m gonna do this challenge for sure, couldn’t think of better path to do dark urge. Do you have a build guide for this run?
This run I was just level 12 oathbreaker paladin with great weapon master. You can definitely multiclass and make it better, once you get adamant armor you're pretty strong. Get helldusk then you're set
Can somebody answer me, did yall play pathfinder king maker? Like in no way I'm saying it's better then baldurs gate but, liked that game for a bit
I haven't personally. Just a Segway from Divinity 2 > baldurs gate. Certainly, I might end up doing some variety and visiting some similar games
Why is Astarion alive at camp at 3:11 if you killed him earlier?
Good question! When you go to another area, it resurrects members of your party so I had to kill him again
hahahahaha yo the way he fucking punts that squirrel hahahaha
damn, the game looks awesome on high settings
footage of solo killing powerful boss is suddenly lost....
It actually was, I know how it seems lol. I did just beat grym solo on stream with only my Fists though! You can find it at the beginning of Livestream 5
I soloed a Barbarian/rogue currently all the way threw act 2, just started act 3. See how it continues to go.
Go for the house of hope! I believe! Hope will help alot. Personally I blew her up lol (Casting aoe radiant damage), also yurgir basically solo'd Raphael which I was too ashamed to include lol, though will definitely try completely solo next
I’m planning to do this after few playtroughs
My only question is, for dark urge, can you become a bhaalspawn and a mind flayed as well while retaining the slayer abilities post-game?
Baldur's gate 3 doesn't have post game
>loses footage of every cool thing in the run
I wasnt actually planning on making a video first, deciding half way through so I went back and grabbed footage of my run. That being said most of the autosaves expired.
can you make a build tutorial because I sometimes even struggle with the normal fights with all 4 people
This build was just a level 12 oathbreaker paladin. I can elaborate if you want, though feel free to drop by a stream or check out the newer videos. I try to go in depth more than I did this video
@@Pheeon sure thanks mate
@SlothyTheDemon as long as you're even level with the enemy, you should be in a position to take then on, unless it's a boss. Besides that you typically get stronger through items so check shops and loot as much as you can for good drops
"and she's got a cool box" 😂
There is more than one mithril ore vein in the adamantine forge.
Thats true, though theres no two handed adamantine weapon so really all I cared about was the armor. I did end up crafting a sword though which was helpful for negating sturdy on some objects so you can break them down easily.
What if your endgame equipment, i mean, other than the regen ring, amulet of health and gauntlets
you could have killed nightsong instead of freeing her if you got the spear in the gauntlet, its in the library
Unfortunately my name isn't shadow heart and she's in a cold deep grave somewhere in the sword coast lol. I did sell aylin for coin later at least
You can almost smell the reek of save-scumming despite it never being mentioned.
It's on the thumbnail lol, most of it came from myrkul finding something that worked, (and not getting 1shot lol) 1000 saves ain't bad
Leave the "savescummers" alone, at least we don't jerk off in anger, getting high on telling people how to play BG3. 😂
Only thing I missed was nuking creche to absolute dust 😂
I see you w that Cheat Engine table to skip boss at the forge., but hey-- no judgement over here.
Nop truly just lost footage, theres good reason for the 1000 autosaves though lol. Dont wannt plug but you can see how the fight went down in my other vids
@@Pheeon fair enough!
Well now I have another reason to do the DU run again
You could start Dark Urge as a Cleric though, command Commander Zallik to drop weapon, pick it up, then respec later to paladin :D
If you swap Shadowhearts spells before the fight, she can do it for you
Can you do a full playthrough
I do livestreams for full playthroughs! I'm considering uploading the vods here or on an archive channel
What’s the end game helmet you’re using?
Helmet of grit, not the best don't think it went off one time lol, you can do better end game
1:36 not the Githyanki undies ;-;
Second best undies in the game 😈 we eventually swap to the succubi ones
Imagining if an Undertale style "Genocide" run is possible.
If you want to be an oathbreaky pally durge go path of ancients and cut off gale’s hand
Can you post a video with the cut content? I actually want to see how you did it.
In the future I'm thinking I'll do another evil run where I actually hunt every single npc, that being said I stream!
Stop on by, currently I'm working on an unarmed only run lonewolf tactician
Blood for the blood god
How easy it was to play with a single character? Did you really kill every single NPC you saw? I wanted to do something like that, but maybe in separate runs, one with a single character and another killing everything that moves.
Unfortunately truth be told I didnt kill EVERY npc, i saw a post about some guy who killed everyone in act 1 and put them in their camp lol.
I did, however, play very evil and killed mostly everyone. Act 3 I really didnt want to kill every town npc especially with the run encroaching on 100 hours
It was easier to manage the one character but you're obviously playing at 1/4th the power level
@@Pheeonoh i see, but then if you want and you are not in a hurry you can still kill everything? I was worried this might fuck up the main questline or something like that
@Romdrake1 should be able to, the main quest objectives mostly consist of killing things soo lol, you can always loop back around and kill them later if need be
you didn't kill the nightsong? ....technically you failed a kill everything and also a pure evil run.
have to rerun this
Yeah I killed shadow heart and threw her corpse In a ditch before knowing I needed her lol, I'm sure to do another evil run at some point
@Pheeon interesting. didn't the shar spear allow you to kill her?
@GeneralA6 nope I went through the process of getting the spear but I didn't have shars blessing like shadowheart
i started the same solo challenge as you, but as gale and a wizard.. it makes it really hard, because let's face it, pally is kind of ez mode because of all the burst damage and self-healing. woud love to see you beat that one.
Yeah pally has some good tools, I'll most likely try doing a solo run with all the characters, right now doing another challenge run with Unarmed only, same ruleset
Why not do a Dark Urge wizard instead? It's perfect if you are going to murder everything.
@BrawndoQC flavor ;) I really picked oathbreaker paladin for no other reason
@@Pheeon I mean the guy who picked Gale. lol. Your choice was perfect.
The cloak you get from dark urge makes solo tactician removes any real challenge. But at least being melee makes it a bit harder, harder to be perma invis.
Dont worry lol challenge run is next. This was the first go through so easy mode was required
definitely a good vid, if you want to find a good way of making these types of vids look up French Tomohawk and his fallout 4 vids
I'm doing this in my next playthrough and sleeping with as many as possible. Keeping them until they commit and then killing them. Rescue and then kill them. Only Keeping minthara. Because I killed her on my good play through.
I was most excited to see Raphael's fight, sad to see it cut
Unfortunately a lot of the fights were boring, I took my time on Raphael so most turns were smiting followed up by running away. In a future upload you'll definitely see one
How do you get past traps with no rogue?
Which traps, just in general? Pressure plates you can mostly jump over, trapped chests i tended to just open by throwing them from a high place lol
Next do the same thing except with the jack of all trades build
Its on the list!
I think its impossible to kill everyone solo on Nautiloid even in balanced mode
Can we get the build?
Just level 12 oathbreaker paladin, Weapon of choice was the corpse grinder and my armor was Helldusk. Let me know if you're curious about anything else! I tried to keep it nice and simple
My 2nd playthrough was Dark Urge and it was not very rewarding lol. Also it took a less time to finish the game since most people died early...
I think there should be at least more XP at this point, if you run tactician all alone
There is in divinity 2, you can get a perk for playing solo, but it just makes it a harder challenge!
7:53 what's the name of this song?
That’s Raphael’s fight song, absolute banger.
@@unixtreme ty
How did you get that armor
So then I ended act 2,..... now in the house of hope I killed Raphael.
Basicly glanced over 90% of act 3.
90% of act 3 is pretty glance over able, though I definitely could've added more lol
@@Pheeon m8, youtube grind. Take your time and make 3 videos instead.
Like this the video felt very rushed and ppl with ADHD/ADD are definetly gonna zone out at some point because the video is just too fast.
@v.3T that's not it lol, I actually just didn't have nearly any footage since I wasn't originally going to make this video, and is just a hodge-podge of whatever saves I had. I appreciate the feedback and am working towards actual respectable edits!
@@Pheeon a bright future to you.
Any chance of a build guide. There aren't any like your character at the moment
I'm trying to do more so I'm my newer vids. First one, so it's not the best lol though I'm happy people found it entertaining
For sure! I was just wondering if the starting dragonborn mattered for yours or if you just went default.
@Cynic64 I literally just thought he looked cool lol, and the class for similar reasons, though paladin definitely has its perks. Definitely going to go more into builds the next videos
I am laughing at seemingly everyone playing this dragon blood race. I can't take that race seriously.
This will be mine second run :D
