My grandmother Mary Ann (Molly) McNally was born and raised in Strabane (Born 1898) I was born 1965 in NZ. My parents split up when I was about 2 and she moved in and helped my dad raise me and my older brother and sister. Took me a while to understand why she was always upset watching the news in the '70's.
What would happen in East Belfast if u dressed up as the Pope? It says an awful lot about Strabane that despite the Hell on Earth these people went through during the Troubles (the most bombed town not just in Ireland but in Europe!) they still have a sense of humour at all! Pride of Ireland.
