Hej guys, a little disclaimer. I had quite a few issues with the game (bugs, glitches, enemies being damage sponges, puzzles not following logical rules imho etc). On top of that I had a REALLY bad day, I was in pain and also had some personal stuff going on. All of this combined led me to be a bit more frustrated than I might have been on a normal day. Sorry for that, I hope you understand and can still enjoy. Let me know what you thought of this DLC!
Dunno what you guys think, but in 3:17:04 it looks like a sneak peak at a possible Control 2. It looks like Jesse in a weird symmetric post apocalyptic city. Maybe I’m just crazy hahah😂
8:30 "Why do they still have monitors from the '90's?" At The Oldest House, technology has to be kept limited because it interacts with the Oldest House oddly. I'm guessing that mindset spilled over to the Lakehouse and other FBC offices.
Hey Lizz, hope your day turned out better, your only human afterall, on another note, I recently started watching my childhood show the X files, and this gave me so much vibes from that show, pitty about all the bugs and issues with it though. great stream as always.
You can't stop the song at 3:26:45. This song was written by Sam Lake. This song is very important for the whole journey that Alan Wake 2 took from 2010 to 2024.
I can and I did. I'm sorry, but even if I these songs were made for the games specifically, I constantly get in copyright trouble for songs that shouldn't be copyrighted. Not worth the risk for me to be honest. We all can listen to the song online in our free time :)
Getting a little dash of Darling felt a bit like he was the sugar to make the medicine go down 😂 Remedy always seems to have a tiny slip with their DLCs but still no one else is doing it like them, so for better or worse I tend to forgive them, lol. At least The Final Draft gave me the better ending & more Darling. Hey, he seems to be the secret sauce 😊
Just finished the Lake House expansion. I was playing Control right before, and it is amazing how they really connected everything. Agent Estevez is even mentioned in a document, in Control, saying she was headed to the Lake House.
@@LIZZgame Quite light, specially compared to the previous DLC. There was a LOT of reading in this one. But I think that is what they aimed at, making a more moody, dark experience, focused on storytelling. I feel it is more like the main game. I prefer the Night Springs DLC 😅 And now I got back at Control, so it was quite a contrast in the combat style. Control is amazing!
@@danielaubert5608 I struggled so bad with the fights in this. I forgot all the controls, then I had bugs, my character got stuck all the time AND I had no healing items most of the time.. Boy I struggled lol
@@LIZZgame oh, jeez, I didn't get bugs, but healing is a bit scarse deifnitelly. I played through the main game just a while ago, so my memory was still fresh, I guess. But I am loving your play through! I laughed at your reaction of hearing the painting's voice for the first time hahaha.
Loved the playthrough! Btw you missed a manuscript page in Rudolph's cell that implies Jules left the letter opener that Rudolph slit his wrists with on purpose in the cell. He did want to cut the painter open to get the piece of art he needed
Did anyone else get trapped on the 3rd floor by the paint monster? That one hallway next to the elevator i had almost no health and everytime i went by that damned hallway i got grabbed it effectively puppyguarded that hall lol i had to do what u do in the little nightmares two game with the mannequins and shine my light at to get past it lol
I played aw1 recently and the fighting is very good compared to aw2. In aw1 normal enemies die with 3 pistol shots and in aw2 with 3 shotgun shots. The enemies are way too tanky in aw2. Also the health packs are very scarce in this dlc. Finally, the controls are not responsive during the fights. I was pressing the buttons and nothing was happening. I think that when too many things are happening in the game, like in boss fights, then sometimes it can't cope with all of it and it ignores your input. I managed to get to the final boss without many problems. But the final boss was a nightmare. My hand hurt so bad after I finished... It felt like I was playing elden ring. After finishing night springs, I was so happy and I was thinking what a great game. But this, no, I just thought thank god it's over.
yeah I truly feel you. Remedy DLCs tend to be way too tough and the enemies too tanky haha. I remember struggling with one of the Alan Wake 1 DLCs too.. forgot the name though.
I know it may sound ridiculous but I also feel like Alan Wake 1's atmosphere was just so different and enjoyable, it was a one-off thing they never captured again after going for a more "modern" aesthetic with Quantum Break and Control. Even the foresty bits in AW2 don't feel the same. Where's the mountains? Where's the caves? Not to mention forcing in out of place characters and lore from Control when AW1 never had it.
1:00:40 you have a clearance keycard. The higher the clearance the more access you have. When you picked up the lvl1 keycard you had access to floors 1-3 i went back and checked lol
this whole keycard fiasco made no sense to me lol. At first I thought I had to get a keycard for each floor. Then they just got randomly updated. Then they brought you to random floors. Then you DID have to get the proper numbered keycard.. then again you didn't.. what a mess lol
I bet it's even harder for those of us who haven't played the game for weeks and don't remember how to the controls work lol "how do I dodge?" "How do I get my flashlight out??" "wasn't there a way to throw flares?!"
I just finished the DLC earlier myself (sometime around you uploading the video). I liked the retaining survival horror element. The paint enemies, at least before you get the rock blast gun thing were incredibly frustrating!! I know you said you didn't watch the trailer but the trailer put too much emphasis on the importance of Dylan within the DLC. He is only there for what is barely a few minutes and even then, the entire encounter *can* be missed (ie. don't visit sub level 4 or visit but don't pull the cord). Obviously it's a big hint towards what may happen in Control 2 but Remedy should have avoided the trailer utilising Dylan within it. However, from the files of the game, did he have *some* influence within the paintings as they do reference "P6" in sub level 4. Downloading Control now to play it for the first time to understand more of the links and references to AWII overall. Also struggling to pinpoint where this is within the timeline of AWII. The board has "deerfest this week". Was this happening after AWII (or during and after?) as you can interact with the gate as Saga and she does get a response initially from (I presume) Diana Marmont
ohh have fun with Control!! Wild game. I think this happened while Saga is already in town.. Either before Estevez takes over her case, or after she did and Estevez is telling her about it, since she mentions Saga a few times as if she's bringing her up to speed about the incidents shortly before they met.
Omg, I was yelling at the screen on that power core "puzzle" How do you possibly get in the room with the second power core? Maybe try opening the door?😂
I checked and I WAS trying to open that door after putting the core on the platform, then it didn't work, I tried the key card, but she just put it away.. so I figured "I need another core"
@@LIZZgame1:32:17 tried to open the door, clicked to use a card and immediately got distracted by second questioning yourself. That looks like you just opted out from trying to open the door with keycard and did not come back to actually do it for a long time. Anyway, brainfarts happen, don't mind my personal second hand frustration about your gameplay in this instance😂.
Damn I can´t follow you atm, you play all the stuff I am playing right now, or I want to try soon. I love watching your let´s plays, but I don´t want to get spoiled.
the good thing about YT is, the videos are not expiring, contrary to twitch videos.. So you can play at your own pace and watch later! Hope you'll enjoy your runs!
Respect for getting through this rather a bit disappointing DLC on a bad day. I think I’d leave it if I were under the weather. The way they distributed health items is really frustrating. Anyway, thanks for the vid!😊
Damn, I've just discovered your channel and really liked the “Alice - Madness Returns” gameplay, but I haven't played Alan Wake 2 at all, so I'll have to skip it.... for now...

Nice work on this one! Well played.
The FBC HQ looks so cool in this over-the-shoulder perspective.

ohhh okay! Thanks
This dlc has a serve lack of coffee compared to the last one.
you. are. coffee.
It would have been great if they added the coffee termos as suit you can wear.
