My take on the MV/song is that people will do anything for likes, subscribers, etc. including things that are destructive and cause self-harm, but in the end no matter how many likes you get on social media you're still alone and depressed with no real connection to reality. There's still that empty feeling which is why she has such a straight face or even sad-looking expression throughout the video except for the times she posts on social media. It's a really powerful message.
Noir is also a genre, it is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations. It actually makes a perfect sense, people fake accidents and sexualize content for attention
Such a good reaction i love it!! and I agree with you. In that tomato scene, Sunmi look at the camera and doesn't swallow it. She always says that people look at her and say she's too skinny. I think she satirized her.!!
It really is one of the most thought-provoking, expressive, well thought out music videos that Sunmi has put out. I think your interpretation is pretty much spot on, because I watched an interview of her talking a bit about the song and the video, and it kinda matched up to your interpretation. The fact that people are doing dangerous things on social media just to gain that one like from other people is simply not worth it, in my opinion. It's just a "social currency" as someone else pointed out that we tend to be blinded by in order for us to be accepted in the world. She's really pointing out the negatives behind being blinded by the love and attention you're getting, but not realizing that you're becoming someone you're not; therefore, this need to love yourself possesses your mind so much, that those consequences don't exist in that person's mind. Sunmi really portrayed that idea extremely well, and I can see why she got over 2.5 million views just a few hours after its release. It's really a work of art.
#Sunmi Noir is just too good. You got the meaning of the mv btw and yeah the knife finger chanllenge. I hear that I wanna be in the background. Ft. that Soyeon ;)
This is one of the best and most interesting music videos I have ever seen. The song is fantastic and catchy, but this video will be something I won't forget. Great reaction as always!
Sunmi is such a fantastic solo artist. It's interesting seeing her make a music video that has more to do with social commentary, you don't see that much, especially in Kpop. I think she has a point though, there is some interesting correlations between Noir and something like social media. It's not simply black and white, it can connect people, but it can also (like the genre of Noir) cause some people to seek attention to point of hurting themselves, or lying and putting up a false facade to try to keep up appearances, or cause people to become hateful and cynical to strangers simply because they can hide behind a fake persona and never have to deal with the consequences.
Do you know that co-composer of this song is Jang Yijeong (El Capitxn) from History? You made video about their debut song Dreamer 2 day ago🙏 💕 Piano and synthesiser are also made by him. He participate also in new Epik High album as co-composer and co-aranger that will be released March 11.
Oh my gosh! I know you love INFINITE! I hope you react to Jang Dongwoo's solo debut, infinite's main rapper! It's reall worth to watch!! :D The title is 'NEWS'
Sunmi went for the Internet’s jugular and I love her for it. And I love the callbacks to Wonder Girls and her solo videos.
She swallowed 'the love' at the beginning of MV, which has become a 'social currency' these days ❤️️

The build up to this song in her social media was incredible as well. She is just brilliant..
I really loved she exposed basically what's all about "social" media, there's no return point tho. We're in a sad and sick world.
:(

Noir and Butterfly are comebacks of the year PERIOD

Amazing solo Artist. Deserves International fame. She has 2 concerts in Cali the next 2 days. I bet they will be amazing
Sunmi wrote this song herself. It's about people the the road to self destruction and becoming addicted to life and social media
#Sunmi

I feel so much REBOOT(my favorite album ever) vibes in this music... is this heaven?
Yass

I see this and if it wasn't an MV I would say I am looking at my instagram feed...
Noir and WANT are the best things to happen in 2019
At the end with the car, she's brave enough to say that she's also part of the problem.
Oh my gosh! I know you love INFINITE! I hope you react to Jang Dongwoo's solo debut, infinite's main rapper! It's reall worth to watch!! :D

maybe 공감 means empathy. I love your reaction!
I think she went after both halves of the equation here. People do it to get likes but people give likes because they do it. Which half is to blame?
she exposed all people who think social media is everything ....that is NO real life, plus doing dumb thing to get attention.
Please react to jus2
dikawidia I will for sure 👌🏽
which side is the problem on? People do it for likes or people have to do it to get likes? Or both?
Yo Mando can you please react to GFriend’s new Japanese release called ‘Flower’ ?
