hey bro! Glad you liked the video, I let the traxxas clutch really put in some work for this video, LOL, right! Still some stuff left to do like get that 3-speed shifting properly. Always something!
thanks bro! Turns out I was missing brake pads this whole time, I just got a set from Kyosho and the brakes are significantly better now. More on this thing soon!! thanks for your support man.
thanks my NITro Brother! Glad to have you here, more on this truck soon!.. Gonna get the 3rd speed to shift and possibly lock the rear end with a spool so I can do some better crawling. Imagine the tons of nitro smoke when im gonna be crawling!!! Sickening!.
hey buddy! Yes, this is one the very few trucks with a real 4 wheel steering system, it was a KYOSHO option part. Not awesome for top speed runs as it's a FLIP FEST, but very good for slow crawling and tight turns. Nothing beats a nitro crawler honestly...
hey bro! Well so FAR it was only a 2-speed. But it's fine. I need to figure out how to tighten the 4WS or lock it up, then we will surely get the 3rd gear to kick in. Nothing broke with the current clutch setup, so I'd say we are good to go..
lol, yes! I still need to adjust the 3-speed, but at least the second gear hit. Also going about 10+ MPH is challenging with the 4Wheel steering setup. Gotta work on it a tad more. Incremental fails you know...
thanks my NITro Brother! Glad to have you here, more on this truck soon!.. Gonna get the 3rd speed to shift and possibly lock the rear diff with a spool.
My main Nitro Man putting out another awesome video 👍 I love Orange and Grey for Colours man this RC looks bad ass. Unless you were going to rock crawl I’d say take the rear steer out, jump off the top turn buckle on that sucker ! Slow motion action great stuff man looked great in the snow, I almost want to play with my RC’s in the snow ❄️ Great stuff brother 👊
hey bro! how you doing! yes, I know you're 100% right about the 4 wheel steering, but when I got it, it was already installed you know. BTW I also have a SPOOL for one of the diffs, to lock one of them up for some great craving action. As you saw the diffs are super open, maybe some tuning would work. Anyways, I need to get the 3rd gear to shift then we can really have a NITRO Gang Party! lol. More soon .
hey dude! what's up! So far I dont think people have had problems with the USA-1 clutch system really. But I would say getting the bearing upgrade for clutch bell is a good idea..
hey my dude! Yes, I'm working on the 4Wheel Steering system and the 3-speed shift right now. That will be the next video.. You can't kill this NITRO!!.
thanks man! still some work left to be done, like getting the 3-speed to shift and the 4WS to not piss me off over 10 MPH, ahah, But it's coming along, incremental gains you know.
@@Drey-R.C ofcourse bro!! I try to respond to all my comments. Its the best way to keep making nitro great again right!! Right now i got covid so feeling pretty miserable, will try to work on some nitros as a distraction.
hey man! how you doing! I have a few great lunch box videos already here on RUclips. Just for you, I promise to show the Lunch Box in the next video, how about that!! Make sure to not miss Monday Night Nitro.
Awesome that you figured it out. By using traxxas fly wheel. When I do these great diagnostic finds. I call them a Frankenstein fix. Lol chain driven flip top and 4 wheel steering -Bad ass my man!
hey man, yes!!! I finally got it running WILD, but I still need to figure out the 4WS handling issues because at these low speeds I can't really tune the 3rd gear properly yet. But that's another thing to work on. More on this truck soon, thanks man!>
what's up bro! Happy Saturday nitro morning to you! Yes, the Sickening annoying kyosho is finally fixed. And all it took was some basic traxxas parts, hahaha, GO FIGURE!!..
hey dude! how you doing!. this makes me very happy, knowing you're getting a t-maxx! A brand that will not PISS YOU OFF, lol. Trust me. I'm here to help when you get it, sometimes a break-in could be tough, if the carb settings are off, SO let me know..
I love that you finally got this running I can't believe you were actually able to use Traxxas parts on a Kyosho So the first part of the slow motion was awesome because there was no music enough said 0
hey dude! I knew you would like he first part of the slow motion, haha!! But I didn't include too much music and it was quite appropriate for a nitro crawler of this nature (linking park - crawling). nothing more appropriate than that, lol. Anyways still more work needs to be done, the 3rd gear needs to shift..
thanks man! Still needs some work to get the 4 wheels steering more centered for higher speeds, but otherwise the engine and drivetrain seems to be fine. Also waiting on the brake pads.
Whats sad is i was on that livestream when some one mentioned something about flywheel or clutch and you shut them down, and then you mention in a weird way"for 2 hours on livestream and noone could figure it out, when everyone was truly trying to help, because you asked..Im not passing judgement but i feel sometimes i see things differently and there is no"i" in team bro,Im glad you figured your fix on your own without anyones help, shows your a true nitro Guru🙏
I said the clutch bell was binding against the flywheel right from the beginning. I told you to remove all the clutch shoes instead of just the one you originally did to rule out that the shoes were binding. Adding shims that are a faction of a mm thick like 0.1mm (not 1mm thick ass washers that you tried) to adjust tolerances (i.e. so the clutch bell doesn't rub against the flywheel or clutch shoe pins.) What Are Metal Shims Used For? We manufacture metal shims of the highest quality, and ship them out to equipment manufacturers around the country. Here are some of the common uses for metal shims: To fill gaps: Whenever there is a gap in materials, a shim can be used to close that gap and make the materials flush or level. Filling gaps is a common use of shims, especially in construction. If parts are subject to wear, filling the gap with a shim will stop wear from occurring. To level objects: If an object is not level, a shim may be driven in between two objects in order to level the area. Shims of wood, plastic, and metal are used for this purpose. To adjust clearance: In many instances of manufacturing, a shim is needed to reduce clearance between two objects. If the level of clearance needs to be adjusted, the shim used will be made in part of foil, which can be removed in layer to adjust clearance between the objects. In commercial construction and manufacturing: Shims are manufactured in large quantities and used for construction purposes as well as manufacturing purposes. With regards to steel and other types of metal shims, the most common uses for these shims are for automobile manufacturing, for the purposes outlined above. In automobile manufacturing: Steel shims are used regularly in the manufacturing of automobile parts. Shims allow for a greater flexibility when it comes to the clearance level of a particular part, such as a valve. You use shims when things aren't right
hey my dude! how you doing! we have made significant discoveries here on the clutch issues. Knowing you can easily just use basic traxxas parts is good to know. Im thinking of another possible upgrade with the HR hot Racing flywheel and 3 shoe alum clutch.
Hey bro its me the Guy with the mt2 g3.0 i saw that you got it running i youst orderd a new engine same brand same model the first one gave up and now After 4 jears i am back in Business 😂
whats up brother! Yes! Who would have though that a basic Traxxas setup would fix all the KYOSHO sickening problems. When I though about it, the TRX 3.3 is a basic pilot shaft motor, all .21 and up engines also use the same pilot shaft design, so it was CAKE to make it happen. Just had to play around a little with the Flywheel nut, had to use the stock KYOSHO nut. Anyway, more on this thing soon, we need to yell 3-speed BABY!>
hey bro! Luckily for us TRAXXAS parts fit without an issue. Since the 3.3 is a pilot shaft engine it's basically identical shaft length to any other 1/8 style big block. That is the main benefit. Another nitro rescued by a TRAXXAS, ahaha.
hey buddy! How you doing! Let me answer your question. The nitro rustler comes with a single speed transmission only, unless you do some high level custom mods it cannot use a 2-speed. I would highly recommend you pick up a nitro with a 2-speed transmission to begin with, it's a much less of a headache. There is a link to some 2-speed nitros in this video.

Hey dude! I've tried numerous combination, nothing worked other than swapping in this traxxas flywheel and clutch. My main issue was the terrible clutch bell binding with the old system, the clutch looked to be original and in good shape though. Since the traxxas clutch is a smaller diameter it seems to be running significantly better, plus I used regular bearings not the roller bearing supplied by Kyosho. Problem solved.
It's the live that I missed otherwise I would have told you to use different clutch pads made of composite instead of aluminum I was thinking of the savage model but it looks like it all works Find now super sikening
hey bro! I was actually trying to order the Savage teflon clutch setup before I settled on the Traxxas setup. The problem is the HPI clutch is sold out everywhere. So impossible to get. I settled on what I had. AT this point my other option is to get the 20 dollar Hot Racing Flywheels and alum clutch they make for the 3.3 model. What do you think?
Like I mentioned in your live video comment s section, I think you needed new shoes and springs. I personally wouldn't run those Traxxas shoes but the point here is that the fix actually works. People were too caught up on mesh and I guess they had blinders on because everything was fine you you built the clutch but things got out of whack as soon as you powered the engine.
