Yep, loading bikes on trailers and shit is a real pain in the ass sometimes, especially at the end of the day when ya gotta get em back off and shit. Thanks for watching bro!
She rides so well! I was impressed. The 390 did better than I thought in that sand. It looks exactly like Florida there. You could have called the video Ocala Florida vacation and the locals would have said yeah we ride those same trails every weekend!
Been there in the sand on my AT...speed up, lean waaay back to lighten the front tire and steer with the body not the bars , on the bright side the exc will feel like a light nimble toy the next time you ride it🤣🤙
Yeah it's ok landing in the sand, the bike is still hard tho haha. But we got lucky this time. I made a new bit for the mirror out of aluminium bar, fkn ripper :)
Yep, my bike is 4 hours away at my Parents and I’m not allowed more than 5kms from home. Haven’t seen the CRF250 rally since Christmas. I’m thinking about trading up to the KTM390 adventurer but love the idea of the 790. Just debating the weight factor and the amount of $ vs the amount of riding I get in. Just want more power on the Highways and better fuel range. So I’m living vicariously through you guys down here in Melbourne 👍🤓🇦🇺
Hay Nat & Josh you'll have 50.000ks on those bikes in no time . That sand can be tricky . We use to go over to Moreton island a lot on the bikes in our late teens . It was a blast and a different time late 70s early 80s lots of shenanigans. etc. We were indestructible ha ha ha . Hearing you talking and laughing makes it a bit more fun to watch your videos . Thanks again ✌
Brutal mate haha but shit you'd be a fit fkr just riding that track once a week on a big bike. Not that I'm gonna do that. Ever again... 😅 Cheers Noodles
Fantastic job on the sand it’s some of hardest riding I have ever done ( did the little desert last year on my 650 ) it was also the first time I ever done deep sand that went for around 70kms . What I learnt and was told by VERY experienced sand riders sit on nothing under 70kph , keep all weight on the back , and let the bike go we’re it wants ( don’t fight the steering) and also don’t slow down in corners.
Thanks bro! Yeah some good tips there man but far out it's hard work on a big bike no matter how ya come at it. Not crashing would be nice tho, nothing saps ya energy like picking big bikes up!
MVDBR Enduro “ my 650 was the second biggest ride in the little desert, all the other bikes were 300 & 500,s and one guy on a Ducati 1200 mutistrata Enduro ( Lucky he was built like Arny ) but he still almost went down with heat , “ I reckon he was a legend or stupid “
@@itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449 I dunno where they get "enduro" for that bike aren't they like 270kg or some crazy shit like that... did he make it to the end? Fkn legend if he did!
MVDBR Enduro Yes he did but we waited quite a few times while he was picking his bike up for the 20-30 time ! and then had to get him to sit down and give him electrolytes- otherwise he was F##KED
Without the 4WD ruts sand riding is great fun. But those wheel-grabbing sand walls are mentally and physically very draining....😔 Was fun to watch you guys battle with it- makes me feel better...lol👍
Hey guy's another good vid, brighten'd up my rainy day here? least you got it dry, man you would need a spare pair of pants if you see one of those Yowie's lets hope you don't bump in to any, people say we have them here in the UK as well? ATB Wayne UK............
Nice vid guys and no, the Simpson isnt that soft shit all the way .... but it does have its fair share . I can say that shit heading anti clockwise , from the gate on the kings bore loop is pretty challenging and probably similar to what the Simpson throws at you ... dune, after dune, after dune :)
Sand riding is so fun, but it's really rare for me to get to ride sand. Tracks like that at the end there are no joke, eh! Nat was cruising through no problem! Not sure if you're able to get them over there, but rokk staps are big time worth the money. They come with me on every ride I go on, even if I'm not already using them. Once I swapped to them, I've never lost anything. But they due melt if the tag ends hit the muffler, and I've had one buckle brake in the 5 years of use. And that's what I tell all my buddies that only ride dirt bikes, "it's just far to easy to hop on a dualsport" 😂
Yeah have seen the Rok straps here Stango they are the ones with a short bit of elastic on them hey. That was my bad I strapped the bag on Nat's bike hahaha I had a feeling it was gonna be a bit dodgy 😎 Where are you again mate? NZ?
Nahhh, compared to some we're ok, but compared to others we're fkn shit! Guess that makes us average :) Although for a female, I agree that Nat rips! (no sexism intended) Thanks for the vote of confidence man! 🤟
@@MVDBR Well, dont agree with your self evaluation. I have done sand in Baja with an ADV bike and it is a solid challenge. On 10 riders, there are at least 8 below you two.
Front tire is paramount in sand. I always go for more dirt oriented front for better control in mud and sand and more road oriented rear, so that I can still clock thousands of kilometers on the road. Sliding rear is ok and there is a lot you can do when you can't get traction, but sliding front is just no fun.
That's pretty smart actually, I find even the STR rear not too bad with traction but yeah the front sucks in anything other than road or hardpack dry dirt. Cheers
@@MVDBR I've learned that on my first ride with the KLR, when I face planted on wet grass, it was like riding on ice. Never trusted road front since, when riding the dirt. Even if it's dry, you can still get a wet section in the forest.
Well good saves the both of you guys😁👌 dont know what happened with the mirror mine has been crashed soooo many times and apart from a cracked glass its still going strong 🤔🤨 keep well Josh and Nat 😎🍺
Hahaha yeah and that one hadn't even been punched yet! 😅 Must have just been a dodgy one Jeff cause yeah I don't think it really had much punishment at all. Hopefully they'll replace the fkr for free
Went out yesterday on my new to me Africa Twin, thought I'd have a go in the sand , first time in 30 odd years, yeah well ,arse up I went, you know what you can do with your sand LOL.
back in the day.. when pillion pegs were on the swingarms.. the fix was weight RIGHT back & as little as absolutely possible on the front standing on the rear pegs.. don't get ANYWHERE near the tracking problems or tendency to tuck the front wheel.. bike gets up on the plane easier & quicker too.. doesnt burry itself.. 10-15 psi helps as well.. or less if you're game & have bead locks
Def need something to watch, boring as fuck in VIC at the moment. The sand makes you appreciate how much of a good effort by Nerb taking that 1190 across the Simpson
