I got a newer Neeewer (ha!) NW-800 package for $10! It's OK. Nothing to write home about, but definitely better than what I had on a budget 20 yrs ago! Great video!
It seems to me that the Neewer registers a little more high frequencies... BUT a simple equalizer can adjust/overcome the differences. I already had it in my Wish List, now it is in my Shopping Cart. Thanks Cory! 🙃😉😊
I wonder how close it would sound with some eq Also the Neweer is a fake condenser, inside is a small electret capsule just like in gaming headphones or in a lavalier mic.
I wouldn't be quite so dismissive From using some of the top microphones (Shure, Rode, Sennheiser) for many years in filmmaking, I recently tried the NW-800 (which is available from several sources as the BM-800). You don't mention that, for optimum performances, the NW-800 requires phantom power. Also, the microphone's diaphragm has to be correctly aligned to face the sound source as the mic is not multidirectional. I also set up two of the BM-800 mics to record stereo ... for that price, why not?. I found the differences between the BM-800 and some more expensive microphones were in most instances very subtle. For a symphony orchestra, I don't know ... didn't try that ... but for general recording, the BM-800 is surprisingly good, especially if you are any good with decent sound-editing software.
The proper way to compare mics is side by side with the capsules aligned. Your voice doesn’t project forwards, it projects downwards because of the nose. Also the mics were very different distances from the acoustic guitar.
Dale Chapman Thanks for watching! I assure you that there is no perfect way to compare two microphones because you will never get the capsules in the same position. I believe this demonstration does both mics justice. :)
Hello, I have trouble with my neewer nw-800 mic. 1. I have a window 10 laptop that has only one audio jack. 2. I tried connecting to the audio jack and my laptop did not detect the mic. 3. I have connected an audio splitter and same result. Is the v8 soundcard compulsory? Can some one actually help with how I can resolve this? I am connecting using the neweer nw-100 power supply. Thanks in advance.
I have the microphone(nw 800) but when I connect it to the computer I hear a lot of noise when I listen (and don't hear me at all) and I didn't connect it to the Phantom Power 48v because I saw that the microphone could still work (in the videos) what should I do ?? Except for buying Phantom Power
i dont think theres another way. I want to buy this mic and your best bet to get it to work is to buy a phantom power, they arent that expensive too, $22 on amazon ca
Sorry but.. the Neuman not worth 10.000$...sure ! But the NEEWER NW-800 sound's ' like crap anyway ! ... for a limited budget, you can grab a Rode or a SE Electronics X1 who are really great for 100$ ...
I hate this mic it won’t talk good for gaming it is so quiet and I can’t return it cus I broke the packaging and + the stand for it doesn’t fit My desk 40$ right outta my amazon account now I only have 30$ left great
@@1900likoo phantom power is a 12-48v electric power signal sent over the xlr cable from either a mixer, an audio interface, or a power injector. It is a signal required for use with condenser microphones because it is what charges the capsule causing it to react to sound and send the audio signal back to whatever the microphone is plugged into. If you are using the cable that came with that mic and plugging it straight into your PC you ARE NOT using phantom power. The results for this are the microphone being essentially useless because there isn't enough voltage from the 3.5 mm Jack on your PC to charge the mic capsule and will cause it to either not work or at best be extremely quiet. the cheapest method for you would be to purchase this: www.amazon.com/dp/B014H8AWGC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ufPbEbGK5PZ3X It will inject the correct phantom power voltage for your microphone or any other condenser microphone to work properly
Hope you enjoyed the video :) What did you guys think of the $30 microphone?
can you give the amazon link for $10,000 mic plz
amzn.to/2IMbOVN - looks like the price came down a bit over the last 20 years!
Only about €4500 now. (A little over $5000 US). www.thomann.de/dk/neumann_m149_tube_mic.htm?ref=search_prv_4

Nice! Also, I found a kit for $30.99 with this mic and it’s by Neewer :)

Sounds like the vocals on “Speed Trials” by Elliott Smith
Thats an adlib mic! : D
Was gonna take a gamble on one of these anyway, glad it ain't shite
Jk
DISCLAIMER
DO NOT USE THE SOUNDCARD, It'll worsen the audio. Its a condenser mic meaning it'll need more power than what the soundcard gives.
What would you recommend?

What's your take on the Samson Q2U?

Are you selling the Neumann Mic? I am interested. Please call me. Edward 407-569-9433
How did you connect the NW-800? Did you use an interface?
That's what I was wondering... it sounded like it wasnt.
I have tried it on focusrite scarlett 2i4 and behringer um2 and it sounds good even without fx

We were really hoping to hear you sing into that big expensive mic...
I could probably give the walmart yodel kid a run for his money...

The mic sounds great, but you look better!!! :D
would the $30 be good for singing? like, as a beginner of putting music out there, how would that be
The BM 800 can be easily and substantially improved by fitting it with a larger capsule. Excellent capsules can be had for under $15.00
where could I find such a capsule?
@BM Khalid Hasan no, he's talking about the condenser capsule
The sound quality difference is so tiny
