No, Honey. Starchild and George Clinton are two different things. It's Starchild (Gary Shider) and Dr. Funkenstien (George Clinton).

But George introduced himself as Star Child on the song Mothership Connection (Star Child) and portrayed that character when they performed it live in concert. Garry didn’t become known as Star Child until later, so they’re not really wrong

The concept of the mothership, came from Elijah MUHAMMED ' s Nation of Islam.a simple google search is all that is needed.
