Blanche was ur typical old battleax when she first appeared in 1974 and for a little bit in late 1999 but by the 2000s some of that more became comedy and by the end of Maggie jones life her character was just a barrel of laughs rip Maggie and Blanche
It is just a real pity that Coronation Street do not make good characters like these nowadays especially Blanche as she was without any question one of my favourite Corrie characters at all times

Soaps make me laugh you’ll have a character that acts outraged over an affair or a teenage pregnancy when all of the characters children are either adulterers, murderers, rapists or tramps like it’s so funny
I didn't like how she viciously laid into Sarah, who was 13 years old at the time and was pregnant and was about to go into labour. Blanche didn't even apologise to Sarah, it was as if every word she said to her was justified
