I have found that setting up a tripod or tree stand and getting in and out of it can make animals spawn in their zones just like your one minute trick.
I remember when I just started playing CoTW I got 2 piebold row deers back to back and didn't know it was rare fur type, so I never taxi'd it. 2 years later, never saw piebold roe deer on my maps ever again😂

Hey lady I have a problem. I’m on the mission where you have to take a picture of a fallow deer and when I do it it just doesn’t register. I’ve literally have went 2 meters away and it still wouldn’t register. What should I do to fix it?
on ps4 i have several bugs like that, that mission finally worked for me when i was facing some trees in the stand that is there, so dumb, my back was faceing the deer

That's very strange. Try taking the photo from different distances. 50 m should work! If not, report it to EW. But keep trying. It should register

Not necessarily. I find that happens often with diamonds. But hopefully!
