Great tutorial!!! There's something unique about your videos, so clear and inspiring, makes me want to start folding right away. I will definitively fold several of this while waiting for your next video. Thank you so much!!!
Sara, once again many thanks for your excellent tutorials! Just completed 2 of these and am now ready to venture into some of the different variations shown and go for a 64 grid with even more flowers. Such fun! There’s something so meditative and satisfying with folding these. Thx again!!
I used to see these hydrangea models on Instagram and RUclips for a long time but I never tried to make it. I thought it would be really difficult to make it. And now I just finished this hydrangea Tiles! 😀 It looks awesome. I'll post it on my Instagram page. Thank you so much Sara Adams. 😍😍😍
At first I didn't even know how to make a single hydrangea but then I learnt it and became a pro in it and then I started doing this and successfully completed this tesselation I mean low density tessalation. Thanks a lot for this tutorial
Your tutorials are so brilliant and inspiring!🤩 I especially love your Tessellation guides, please please make another Tessellation tutorial on something new for us to learn!! 😃
I definitely want to! It's difficult to record longer videos while Finn is still this young, but I'm hoping I can make a tutorial on a tessellation before autumn. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Half of my desk is now filled with finished and with re-opened Hydrangea models. That's all your fault ;-) (I reopened them after I coloured the petals in different colours to see where I would have to colour the paper before folding the hydrangea.) I really love your tutorials!
Thank you very much. I had tried doing the low density tiling with just the pdf as a guide after happily folding many hydrangeas but couldn't collapse it. I'm confident that now I'll be able to :)
I'm glad to hear that! By the way, the video description lists a link to a pdf that includes all the crease patterns I show in the first part of the video.
Loved this video, Sara. I think it helps immensely to have you talking us thru. And what a detailed explanation at the beginning! That was a real treasure-trove of information to better understand the workings of the different densities. Can't wait to go at all three of these. Now that you have put out this video, I don't feel so intimidated! Thank you so much. one happy folder---Brent
I'm really glad to hear that! It was one of the most labor-intensive tutorials I've done, so it's good to hear that the work is appreciated. I look forward to seeing your progress on this!
Oh danke, Sara!!! Sara, Du machst Deine Follower mal wieder sehr glücklich!!! LG Gabriela
Thank you Sara, your videos always make my day. They're so well explained, and your voice is very soothing. I hope your channel keeps growing and you get the time to post more and more videos!
It's beautiful! I wonder what was the highest number of layers you ever folded in a single hydrangea? Es ist wunderschön! Ich frage mich, was war die höchste Anzahl an Lagen, die du je in einer einzelnen Hydrangea gefaltet hast?
low=simple intermediate=same word high=complex(little bit) i'll recommend low density hydrangea tilling tessellation. I Like it Low density i love you! sara
I wasn't planning to. There's an ASMR for a low and a high tiling already. The mid density would not differ much. Why are you interested in this one in particular?
I really love your videos and I love the the hydrangeas! I can never find the right paper for it though, when I use standard kami for this the white shows through the creases, making it look untidy, and it rips as the petals get smaller. I've tried paper with longer fibers but these tend to be too thick for getting good definition in the smaller petals. Do you have any advice?
Try using paper that is colored all the way through (i.e. no white reverse). My favorite paper for this model is probably the rainbow kraft from Pacon. They used to be available cut to squares, but seem to have been discontinued. I can only find rolls of paper now. However, any thin, crisp paper that is colored all the way through should work nicely for this model.
@@Happyfolding I resorted to just cutting 1 square of off every side and finished it. It's finished but not really as good as I would like it. The paper is really thick so I can't do many layers. Here's a link to the photo if you want: photos.app.goo.gl/CWzd9UYhTkwjP7tB6
Yes. as to size, it really depends on how small you want to fold. The bigger the better, as you'll be able to add more layers on each tile. I suggest going no smaller than a side length of 20 cm / 7 7/8 in.
In the video: 24 cm, also see www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-low_density_hydrangea_tiling For the display models, 22.7 cm squares. Also see www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-hydrangea_tiles
Can you send me a photo of the diagram crease pattern for the big High density hydrangea that you did a few months ago cause i really want to make it. I’m also going to fold this!
That depends on how many tiles you want to fold, how many layers you want to add to each layer, the type of paper, and how comfortable you feel with folding. Here are a couple of pictures with sizes I used: www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-9_hydrangea_tiles www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-hydrangea_tiles www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-hydrangea_tiling
Hello Sara! As always your explanations are very clear, and I find the models your choose to teach to be very rewarding. I managed to fold two of them here : imgur.com/a/NuPwp Now onto the high-density one :) Cheers from France.
I'm sorry to hear of your frustration. It can be difficult to build a following, but if you make the videos, because you love doing them, then the numbers don't matter as much. And with time they'll rise. :)
Great tutorial!!! There's something unique about your videos, so clear and inspiring, makes me want to start folding right away. I will definitively fold several of this while waiting for your next video. Thank you so much!!!
That's such wonderful feedback. I'm really glad I'm able to achieve that with my videos for you!
luv, luv, luv. Your instructions are clear and PRECISE. You've answered all my questions about hydrangea folding. You're the best.
Thanks, I'm really happy to hear my hard work shows. :)
I love ur videos. From this wonderful video I have learnt and made all :low density, high density and medium density tiling. Thanks again
Congrats! I'm glad I could help.

Have lots of fun folding it - and do share the result with me if you want to make me extra happy. :)
Thanks for sharing... I was expecting this Tutorial.... Wonderful as always!
I'm glad you like it!
For a low density can I just crease 4 hydrangeas next to each other?
Wow amazing model. I think this channel deserves more subscribers
I'm glad you like it!

I'm really glad to hear that - perhaps that's what I should call my followers: happy folders. :)
Marvellous! Thank you for your video tutorial!
Some videos are hard but it’s still fun to fold origami :D
And isn't it quite rewarding when you master one of the more challenging models? I definitely think so. :)

Great as always, thanks you are a excellent teacher
I'm glad you like my teaching style.
Wow that took me a while. I almost gave up a couple times.
Congrats on completing it! It'd be awesome to see your result.
It's beautiful!
I wonder what was the highest number of layers you ever folded in a single hydrangea?
Es ist wunderschön!

I have a photo of one with 9 layers, I think that was the maximum I've folded thus far.
Thank you! Sara! Good thinking for Hydrangea tile 3 set tutorial!
You're welcome!

I am trying to fold a 6x6 tiling but I have 2 squares as border. Is it possible? I don't think I can reverse fold the corners.
Feel free to change the shaping of the border. Try out some options and decide which finishing you like best.

So for a 3x3 high density molecule tesselation I would need a 20x20 grid?? What sized grid would I need? Thanks for the tutorial btw :()
Yes. as to size, it really depends on how small you want to fold. The bigger the better, as you'll be able to add more layers on each tile. I suggest going no smaller than a side length of 20 cm / 7 7/8 in.
Thanks I’m going to fold a frame for my sisters wedding picture
That sounds wonderful!
Me encantó Sara!!!
I'm glad to hear that. :)
Thanks Sara, hands to fold!!!!
I hope you have lots of fun folding it.
Which size paper have you used? Because I used 21x21cm and it came up to be so small
In the video: 24 cm, also see www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-low_density_hydrangea_tiling
For the display models, 22.7 cm squares. Also see www.happyfolding.com/gallery-fujimoto-hydrangea_tiles

Check page 7 of the pdf I created to accompany this video: www.happyfolding.com/files/Hydrangea_Tiles_CPs.pdf
Finger crossed. Let's do this 😤
Have fun!
What size paper for high density model?
That depends on how many tiles you want to fold, how many layers you want to add to each layer, the type of paper, and how comfortable you feel with folding. Here are a couple of pictures with sizes I used:

I stopped uploading youtube videos cos noone is engaging with them :(
I'm sorry to hear of your frustration. It can be difficult to build a following, but if you make the videos, because you love doing them, then the numbers don't matter as much. And with time they'll rise. :)
