The first and only Magneto I’ll ever need. Just a spot on Jim Lee Magneto. Day 1 preorder for sure.
Instant Pre-order. I was a huge fan of the Maquette but this is pure comic book Magneto with an accurate costume, colors and of course, pose. This thing is NASTY.
The pose is exactly like the Kotobukiya Fine Art 1/6 scale, sculpted by Erick Sosa, from back in the day. I like that unmasked portrait though.
Awesome concept, but there is something slightly off with the pose --- it looks a bit stiff and not natural enough, in my personal opinion. Maybe it'll look better in-hand
I noticed right away that it seems “wrong.”
Magneto is badass character and this doesn’t do him justice imo
I couldn’t even tell you what’s wrong, maybe he’s too stiff, or maybe he just lacks soul… idk
I ordered this to replace the Sideshow Maquette (the one you displayed in the video) while the old one has a more elaborate base, this new one is just more classic and epic looking. As far as what else they could have done for a base, the only thing I can think of is something closer to the legendary beast one. but that likely would increase cost too much and sideshow has been killing it on the value front lately.
Oh, or what about a crushed security/police truck? That would be pretty cool. My first thought was actually like a destroyed shipping boat of some sort. I don't know, there's way too many options though I'm sure some would present a price hike.😅

What up, Gem! Man I'm so torn when it comes to this statue. I mean, I have Sideshow's previous Mags (the maquette) and I really like that one. What stumps me here is that this one has the more classic look. However the maquette has the cooler base and the awesome helmet portrait with the white out eyes. I also prefer the fabric cape only because I'm able to pose it in a way that will save space. Damn, it sounds like I'm talking myself out of this one, huh? Haha! But damn, this is such a nice piece. Sideshow did their thing. Now a must have for me is Bishop. He'll look so good next to the Sideshow Cable!!!

Yea this looks really good, love that portrait, love the cape, pretty cool statue.
Very good price. Especially these days. Premium Format saves display space compared to a 1:3 scale, which is great. Overall, not bad. But, like you said, a bit underwhelming. Not much of a WOW! factor. I'll stick with my LBS Magneto. It's tough to beat. Thanks for the review GEM.
I will probably be picking this MAGNETO up, it reminds me of Jim Lee art style.

The problem with the sculpted cape is the depth. 22” is not ideal when most collectors don’t have display cases to put it in.
I am one of them. My case has 19" depth. But this statue looks like a Mags to have, so I think I´m fine if the base will sit on shelf fully with his hand reaching over my display case. Maybe by turning him a little you can deprease the depth ...or I can make a hole in to the wall to make a room for scuplted cape :D
I prefer the XM Studio Magneto, it needs to release already
I’ll stick with my PO for the XM Magneto for now. Nice statue but I prefer the switch outs and base with the XM piece
yea the XM Magneto has a better concept and more switchouts. I also prefer the XM over the Sideshow.
Iron Studios always have the best and most fun bases imho. They always tell a story.
I like the sculpt of this Magneto. Sideshow really did a great job but like the XM Magneto better. it has more switchouts and more dynamic concept.

Nice piece but nothing beats LBS 1/3 Magneto. IMO thats the definitive Mags for me.

Instant pre order for me. I think it is the best magneto in my opinion. And Daniel bel magneto. You can’t go wrong.
magneto is my second favorite comic character. He is one of the few characters I would get multiple statues of like Wolverine and Storm. But I have to pass on this. The pose is simply too similar to the previous SS Maquette which I already have. If I was able to combine Daniel bells magneto with the previous maquette sentinel base being ripped apart it would be a perfect combo.

The base is bland. I'll stick to the previous PF with the Sentinel base. The pose-able cape doesn't bother me. I'll save my money on Bishop (and possibly Gambit from Iron Studios) which looks sick from the unpainted statue with the light-up feature.
this is just a copy of the old kotobukiya magneto statue except that, that one had a better base

@@GemMintCollectibles could you see them fixing it before release? Even the arm seams are visible. Their Facebook page got absolutely stormed with hate after my post.
@@Jordan_99 if there is enough backlash I could see them tweaking it. They’ve done so a few times in the past. Magneto Maquette and Psylocke PF comes to mind.
Other than the sculpted cape and purple trunk. The previous Magneto statue with the fabric cape is more dominant and dynamic if you ask me. Overall, it’s a good looking statue.
Sounds like the words of someone who owns the previous inferior Sideshow trying to push their opinion on others that the old one is better to make them feel better. 🤥

Kind of lazy actually. Similar pose to the previous release. No real standout area in this one. I like my Kotobukiya statue more.
