I was 100% hooked on Band-Maid after seeing the Thrill, then Real Existence, then Dice, then Rinne M.V.'s. Immediately bought all their CD's, DVD's, Live stream concerts, etc., I could lay my hands on. Considering the sheer amount of their songs that I love, they are my favourite all time band, and I have thousands of CD's/Records/Tapes collected over the past 60+ years.
The video is 8 years old and the song is off their second album "New Beginning" from 2015. While their music has gotten more complex over the years these early songs still rock.

It's a more recent song (commissioned for a netflix manga series called Kengan Ashura) where both MISA(bass guitar) and Akane(drums) go to town on their instruments. Cheers!

There are a couple of ways to tell if it's a older song. First, Misa is playing a 4-string bass. Second, if Akane the drummer looks like she's playing like Animal from The Muppets. It's older. She's since corrected her posture

One of the early bangers! You can also tell from Saiki's voice, this was just before her throat surgery for polyps. Definitely a fast driver for me as well, the live also kicks it!

Unfortunately you don't get the raspy vocals anymore (unless they catch cold). Saiki had a vocal polyp back then and had to have it removed, Miku also went through surgery around the same time (something more common). Their vocals these days are more powerful and Saiki sings some part with the grit that she didn't in the past. I occasionally miss this raspiness, too. For more raspy vocals, check out Freezer and Fate.

In newer songs like shambles and influencer it works but in older songs I don’t prefer the way they mix Saiki’s voice like she’s singing through a phone. In blooming it works well too but I’m guessing they went for the cleaner vocal route due to it being a Netflix song. Real existence MV has that over produced phone sound that a lot of their older songs have
