NOTE ON VIDEO QUALITY: The arcade machine shows a much crisper 4K image, but my capture device captured in 1080p & introduces some compression artifacts. You also get cards from the real thing, so as always, that's what I recommend that you play ;)
My oldest is an avid Minecraft player, who has also played Minecraft Dungeons on console; He noticed that there are some unique enemies in this that show up during the boss fights, but as we didn't play through the entire 9 chapters of the game, not sure if there's more than that which was made just for this.

Fun fact: an incomplete Obsidian Monstrosity appears in regular Minecraft: Dungeons, but the boss itself is exclusive to the arcade version. It doesn't always generate, but is found in the Obsidian Pinnacle level in which it's inactive and missing an arm.

This game was already addicting as a rogue like, but as a beat ‘em up, it’s hella fun! Played this at Dave & Buster’s for the first time last summer!
Honestly I love how they implemented cards into this game, they dont give a blatant P2W advantage but rather they allow you to go in with a predetermined kit that you can train yourself with,
For example: cube of corruption is very powerful, but only has 2 uses, without knowing how it works you will mostly just waste it, but if you know what to do, you can use it smartly to clear entire screens when you would be normally overwhelmed.
The gameplay is quite fun and the card mechanic is one I feel like alot more arcade games should implement.
I love the cube of corruption, it's my favorite range weapon, you don't want to believe how many times i've saved myself and others with this cube. Also, you forgot to mention that in bigger areas, doesn't shoot all of the way
I prefer to stick with arcade machines that have games from the 1900s but Kinda cool to see a modern game in an arcade I really never saw that

Looks like a .. fun casual 4 player.. childlike robotron..or..a gauntlet.. without different powers..
Gave this a shot at my local Dave & Busters and instantly, I can already sense a difference between the arcade and console ports. Unlike the console where you go into a Diablo style gameplay, the arcade takes a gameplay approach similar to Gauntlet by Midway since the enemy pattern and quantity is to basically swarm you completely with a classic beat em’ up level progression pace. Also, I like the arcade’s concept in using melee, range, skins, armor, and pet to balance your gameplay, but TBH, when it comes to card dispensing, I wish you can also get another free card after completing a level rather than rely on swiping 24/7 to dispense a card. Also, rather than just using emeralds for card boost, I wish it added a shop system similar to Fantasy Zone or Legend of Valkyrie with choices of something like another 1up, potion effect, health regeneration, armor restore, or just card buff with a timer ticking. Just to add a slight balance to gameplay. Anyway, overall, it’s a neat feature to see a Minecraft entry finally become an arcade for the very first time after many years beyond over a decade. I can see myself having fun and trying my best to memorize the enemy pattern and practice melee timing to attack all without losing HP.

Well they can’t exactly add a shop to the game since you cant equip items other than using the cards, but I definitely agree with earning cards through finishing levels, the game is still going to be worked on since its only series 1 that is out so things like boost or potion effects might be added in the future

I played this at an arcade today in Maplethorpe, a seaside town in the UK. Whenever I put a quid in, cards were just firing out of the machine. I was so confused.

While there are only 9 levels at the moment, they could always add more later with a content update. That said, it's fairly long for an arcade game - playing through all 9 levels can take about 2 hours according to some reports.

No ROM for it exists, as you surmise, the card system is kind of a DRM layer; The game also uses online DRM (where it's receiving updates on a semi-regular basis) although this isn't just to protect the developers but also the arcade locations that buy the game (which costs around $14k USD)
A crazy feat for me is I beat arcade before I played the one on console

Depends on where you live and what arcades are in the area. If you have places like Dave & Busters/Boomers/Main Event/Round1, then check one of those. That said, due to the production issues going on, not many more than 100 are out there are the moment, but the developer is working to fill all orders and get more out into the public.
How do you play an arcade version?
Find an arcade near you that has the game, then purchase their credits to put into the game and play!

edit: by the way, this video is going in my "personal favorites on YT" playlist, because I think that the fact that it is direct capture, 30 minutes, 4 players, and other niche things that others probably wouldn't care about, makes this video SUPER special to me. I thought about getting a machine myself, but I barely ever play on my gaming PCs that I got for free, so why would I pay hundreds of dollars on an arcade machine if I can't find the strength & interest to do it with 60+ games on my steam account alone, yk? which is another reason why I love this vid! I play games to record for little projects and stuff now! and this is EXACTLY the type of thing I could see myself doing if I thought of it first, which I hadn't, but it is a thing now, and I am so glad I found it. usually I only like completely HUDless mock-war footage type stuff, or (again) completely HUDless GMVs, in an alternate universe where I created this, showcasing the unique platform, with high quality direct capture is oddly me.\
in short, thank you ArcadeHeroes for making this video. it is really right up my alley.

But how far in depth do you go with this machine? I can see you most likely went inside of the actual structure, and connected a capture card or something similar to it. Do you know anything about the PC in there itself? Like what the OS is for CD example: is it Linux or Windows or something?
@@alonebysunset Most everything that Play Mechanix/Raw Thrills does is Linux and this is no exception. It's a mid-range PC but I am not sure of the full spec (I hadn't pulled it apart). There are also special I/O boards for handling controls, card dispeners/readers and LED outputs.

This game is being developed by Play Mechanix and not Mojang - they have to adapt things to work for the arcade space. They just released Hidden Depths as a level (which I will have a capture of that up soon) and they have 3 others on their way :)

@@Zavgar486 If you mean finding it at an arcade and playing it, that will vary on how much the location is charging for it (between $1.50-$2 a play at most places). If you mean the whole arcade machine itself, it's $14,500+ and boxes of cards are around $175 or so.

Depends on where you're at. If you have a Dave & Busters near you then that's guaranteed to have one. Otherwise, any arcade that stays up-to-date on the newest releases is likely to grab one.

Well, it's Minecraft Dungeons *Arcade*. Both Mojang & Microsoft contributed to it, but principle design/coding/art was handled by Play Mechanix
