    Hi Gary, I have managed to change everything in the video, very helpful. I drained the system once, and then did it again, unfortunately I totally forgot about it lastnight. I got up this morning and went and turned the valve on, now there is no water coming out the tap...what have I done :(

    Do you have any tricks to opening a very stubborn RO Housing that a water service co tightened overzealously?

      I use one of those wrenches with the rubber strap that wraps around the lid and often get my son to hold the other half to break it free.

    hey thanks for the great vid. question: so last year when i did this, i didnt really purge the ro membrane more than 1 or 2 tank loads... i dont recall the water tasting funny - but would that preservative be bad for my health if my family and i ingested it? do you know what it typically is made of? my system is culligan. also - my system has it so the water runs through a GAC polishing filter before the tap - could this preservative have messed up my GAC filter? thanks in advance.

    Thank you... Very helpful. My membrane make a vibration noise every once in a while. Do you know what is causing that and how it can be fixed?

    • @water_estore
      @water_estore  3 года назад

      Usually it is due to air being trapped. Run the water form the faucet until it slows to a trickle and let hte tank refill. That should fix it.

    what's the purpose of silicon grease?

    • @water_estore
      @water_estore  3 года назад +1

      Great question. Makes the o ring last longer because it does not stretch from the friction while closing the housing. We have it available here waterestore.ca/products/plumbers-secret-clear-silicone-grease-food-grade-113-gram

    What is the best tool to use to remove the cap from the membrane housing if it’s super tight?

    • @water_estore
      @water_estore  Год назад +1

      Good question. 2 large pairs of pliers should do it.

    Gerry, I got a problem "LOW PRESSURE" coming from the RO system. The house pressure is fine, so which filter do I replace? I have 3 facing up and down and then one that faces sideways.

      I would replace them all to be sure. Also check out the info in this video ruclips.net/video/isCkMTdl5y0/видео.html

    What does DGP stand for in membranes?

    • @monicafowler1032
      @monicafowler1032 4 года назад

      Not sure if you've already gotten an answer... do you mean GPD? If so, that's the gallons per day the RO system processes. Ours is 50, but there are higher and lower ones. You need to get the right GPD membrane for your system (just get one that's the same GPD as the one you're replacing), or you'll need to switch out the flow regulator to match the new GPD you're upgrading to (ex: if I wanted to go up from a 50 GPD to a 75 GPD).

      Did you try putting the old membrane in to see if that works? It's rare but the membrane could be defective.
