I think the doctor is actually caring. I mean for a pain doctor. He listens and he is trying to help.

Every doctor I've been too would have seen eight patients in the time these two have been together.

@@Sandwich13455 You didn't give it a chance. If you are a heavy drinker you are going to have a LOT of problems. You may already have them! DUI, anger, staying home from work because of hangovers, pissing people off and you being miserable blaming it on everything but alcohol....Go back and give it another try. Heavy drinking never ends well. In fact, I'd bet you are drinking more now than you did when you started.

If you keep up with that attitude, you are going to check out sooner or later. I'd bet you cannot stay sober for one day! Go back to AA and when you do, take the cotton out of your ears and put it in your mouth.

The bedside manner of a bedpan, hehe.
He is so dismissive - the guy cuts down and the doc says "ok, but not enough." How about yep its really difficult, well done for cutting down. You need to cut back more for your health, let me tell you about some options. And, looking up Acamprosate, the info sheet says it is not to be used with liver problems, why not tell your patient about this? What are DRs being taught!

Actually, Doc, my drinking fills in your inability, unwillingness, accusations @ me about addiction , the 'opiate crisis,' and your desire to have me suffer - than to prescribe medication.
My constant uncontrolled pain could possibly prevent me from participating in those things, such as physical therapy, that would actually reduce pain.
Are there any legal issues with establishing a doctor/patient relationship, but then allowing your patient to endure long periods of pain?
I would want all physicians to use 'due care,' but lumping all patients together, who have screwed this up, or physicians who are prosecuted for running pill mills; is equivalent to judging one person on their face or skin color, as all people in that race, or with that skin color.
Wouldn't swifter action to treat pain avoid the psychological, physical, emotional, and addiction issues you are so concerned with?
Here's the hypocrisy: I could live in a legal recreational marijuana State, purchase or obtain this product, and actually have more pain relief, with 80% less hoops to jump through.
As a note, Doc, I rarely drink, I've never used marijuana in any form, not have I tried any illegal drug.
Oh, by the way, I have Epilepsy, so you should be really concerned by pain being a seizure trigger, and lack of sleep, from pain, being another.
