Is this the best kit lens for your sony APS-C camera? It has great versatility with a large focal range which is fantastic for vloggers, travellers, sports & wildlife and more.
I personally think this rivals and potentially out performs the 18-105mm f4 Sony lens.
What are your thoughts?

Congrats on the baby dude. Cheers!
Very old vid, but surprised that the crop factor, on the A6000 has not been mentioned on an APS-C sensor. has a x1.5 crop. I have this lens, and i'm happy with the results. You have a small light lens that on the A6000 is actually a 26-202.5mm lens. Also I've found using the "Clear Image Zoom" with the x1.4, the lens becomes 283.5mm and still getting sharp images. The x2 produces softer images,
Is it, though? You have a 1.5x crop factor on a lens focal lengths, but this is specifically an APS-C lens, without the FE prefix. Isn't that accounted for when labeled? As in this would be a 12-90mm full frame equivalent?
Excellent video!, can yo combine the IBIS of camera with the OSS from this lens? or do you have to choose just one?
Great video, thanks. I bought this lens with the Sony a6600. What lens would you recommend for low light?
Nice evaluation! But say something else, I do like the BGM at the beginning. Could you tell me the name of BGM?
good one mate
Which one should I get ? Between A6000+this lens vs A6300+this lens. I’ve planed for artisan baker video + vlog
Thanks bro. And this lens is better than 16-70 ??? can You reviews 16-70. Or compare two lenses together bro. thanks you very much. sorry about my English
hello friend im from sri lanka and this video very help full to me
thank u - jason morris
and thank u for more information
I'm considering the Tamron 18-300 - I know it is more expensive but I think the extra reach will give the background blur from the longer focal length
I’m currently considering a very similar choices. What did you ended up getting, could you share some thoughts? Thank you
You know what people would want? A comparison vid between the PZ 18-105mm f4 G versus this 18-105mm f3.5-5.6. Loljk that's what I would want, at least.
I will actually be doing that one. I had to introduce this lens to my channel first 😀
good job bro
Hey how did you do that profile correction?
Hi jason.. question.. is this a better lens than the pz 18-105 sony lens? What would u recommend between the two? Thank u.. anyway great videos, great reviews..🙂🙂
I have tested both lenses and they perform very similar sharpness, auto focus speed etc. I personally prefer the 18-135mm for the extra length and newer, lighter build
I am considering this 18-135 with Sony a6000, Samyang 12f2 & lots of batteries(3-4 maybe) for travelling. Only question is flash, is TT350S worth it or TT685
I don't use flash in most my travel photos. But I have the Yongnuo YN540IV. Cheap and effective. The Samyang 12mm is a beautiful wide lens
you should try the autofocus on the lens with the sony a6400
For you, what is the best lens between 18-135mm and 18-105 G? Thanks
Can the lens b used for full frame lens
Do a crane 2 360 roll video
Make a comparison video of Sigma 18-50mm V/S Sony 18-135mm
If a lens can only go to 3.5 to f5.6 how did you get it to f8???? Im so confused
I have this and the 18-105 and I cannot get any good background blur relative to what I can achieve with the 18-105, especially zoomed in to any extent. At 5.6 too much of the background is in focus. I will be selling mine. Thanks for the review!
thank you for commenting Kenny. The 18-105 is better with bokeh
im stuck on which to go for, what are the odds you still have this lens 2 years later
@@GeorgeFromBG Sold it or returned it, don't recall. I just bought the Sigma 18-50 2.8 and may be selling my Sony E 18-55 2.8. The sigma is much smaller and lighter and very comparable to the Sony's quality.
@@kennypo13 i need some range and the 105 seems very convenient as its a constant f4, have you got any experience with 100mm+
@@GeorgeFromBG Not much. I will be looking into it though b/c we are getting into bird watching...I guess it's something that happens as you get older :/
Thanks for the video. The test you fan at about 5 min... if you used the Sony 6400...would the picture quality look better? I want to record my podcast with with this lens on the 6400 with it. Wanted to know if it's a solid lens and if it would look better on the 6400.
Yes. The 6400 has got superior auto focus and 4k video recording. It also has unlimited record time
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema I appreciate it. Also.Should I get the sigma 16mm to get better vlogs or would the 18-135 be just as good? Not sure if I want to invest in the sigma.
And any setting suggestions on when I see up the 18-135 on the tripod for the podcast? Should I record in auto? Or of you have video in the right settings for this?
Thank you again.
@@fantasyfootballcounselor and the 18-135 has the latest camera correction on it so it would be a better lens to and better for vlogging because with the sigma there's no oss so your vlogs would be shaky so the sigma would be good to be on there of it's on a tripod (not moving) and the 18-135 for vlogging and other things.
Hey! I have been doing a little filming and I am wondering if you would recommend this for film. Mainly cinematics.
it is a great lens, only one downfall is the variable aperture
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema cool dude. Thanks!
I like this video
sir i have sony 6600 with 18-135 lens.. im taking video nature like that ...pls suggest me any wild angle converter for this lens
Can you combine the stabilization from camera with OSS from the lens? or just choose one of them
i want a lens for filmmaking is the 18-135 or the 18-105 better i want to film in the most situations at 18mm on a a6400
i honestly prefer the 18-135. slightly smaller and at 18mm you have a f3.5 aperture
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema ok thx then i buy the 18-135 with corana in one package 👍🤣
Is the videostabilization from the 18-105 or the 18-135 better?
I haven't tested the stabalisation side by side but they would be very similar
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema ok thx 👍 have a nice day
sir plz make a video with Sony 210mm vs 135mm lens test. image & video test. plz sir waiting ur updating video.
sounds like a good idea
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema get started. 😁
dude with 18-135 and gimbal on my hand is not good for vlog? I mean is not so much zoom? i think to take 16-50 but everyone tell me to choose the biggest one
18-135 is still pretty good. the 10-18 might be better for vlogging as its wider
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema yeah but a lot of money to buy this len right?
I have this same lens on the a6400. How can I get my footages to be this clean and sharp in my videos?
shooting in 4k is optimal. also keeping the ISO down as low as possible is best
Jason Morris How low, until it’s dark, then brighten it up in post?
Sir question is not related to this... I have 18-135 with a6400... Should I buy sigma 16mm .... I jst started making travelling videos.. should I save money any buy a action camera or should I buy 16 mm from sigma... Plzz do reply...
Sigma 16 is mt favourite apsc lens
I have the a6000 with 18-135 lens, when I use raw, the photos have distortion and black corners, I don’t know if that is normal or my lens is not working as expected.
It's normal but you can use lens correction in lightroom and then you don't have black corners anymore
marvin andia it’s normal on 18mm you can fix it easy with Lightroom
Go into your camera menu, then the sprocket section, lens comp, and set lens comp to auto and chromatic aberration comp to off. I recently discovered the settings and they have fixed about 95 to 98% of the issues I had with the shadowing and vignetting at the corners. Try and see how it goes.
nice
thank you
If u could keep one lens? Witch one would u take, the 18-105mm or the 18-135mm
Same question for me.. i'm confused which lens to buy..
If you shoot video more then 18-105
Sony 16-55mm f2.8
I saw jelly at 135
Your head looks like jelly while moving 😬
Annoying Sfx.
😂😂
Ur face look funny 😐🤪
So does your Mom's
Great video, thanks. I bought this lens with the Sony a6600. What lens would you recommend for low light?
Sigma 16mm 1.4 and sony 35mm 1.8
