as a f2p player i am happy that we get to enjoy and play the game at the start without having to rely on luck to get the best 5 star to make the game playable

Baizhi's hp scaling is really good because there is a weapon set that gives flat concerto energy when you use a character's resonance skill.
The main downside to these weapons are that their atk stats are low which will not matter for a full support baizhi since, unlike verina, baizhi's kit scales off of HP instead of ATK.
Concerto energy is used to trigger outro skills upon switching out. The concerto energy weapons will help minimize the required character on-field time to accumulate concerto energy for triggering outro skills -- allowing you to maximize on-field times for your main dps instead of spending more time with a support on the field.
Plus, danjin does not need to be at low health to deal max damage, she simplay has to build up stacks by spending het hp. This means baizhi has complete synergy with danjin by giving her regen over a 30 second duration and a damage boost lasting 6 seconds after she's healed.
Not to mention, the healer echo 5-piece set also gives atk bonus when the equiped character triggers their outro skill -- conpletely synergizing with the concerto energy weapon and the fact that baizhi does not mind lower atk stats from her weapon.
I think I’m definitely going to have better control over myself with pulling in this game just because of how interesting and unique even the 4 stars’ play styles are that I won’t have as much of an uncontrollable hunger to get new characters due to getting bored with characters I already have.

Danjin is one of the few characters I actually like and I would love to play her. But I would generally diagnose myself with 'skill issue' so I'm not too sure things would work out for me...
It’s a new game so I’d say to definitely give her a try. You’ll get used to the mechanics eventually :)
Same, I actually like both Danjin & Taoqi purely due to their design, then found out their interesting mechanics (sacrifice & parry), and both just happen to be Havoc characters.
Now I'll just need to consider who's on 3rd slot.

Mortefi. Love the design. I can see him carrying many a dps and being very relevent to the meta. He is the support I definitely want to give some attention to. Tbh it depends on my luck. Im not into rerolling.. but i hope i can be wiser with my early team builds more than i was with genshin. My early genshin team was more about survival. Noelle, geo traveller, beidou and xingqio. It wasnt bad but it wasnt good.

I wont pull on event banner for the first few months cause im scared that once powercreep starts creeping i wont go back to the old 4 stars and ill miss out on having used them
If PGR is anything to go by, at worst, power creeping should happen in a year, and 3 years at most (Rosetta situation)

So... I mostly play character that i like the design of, and i like Taoqi, is she any good? I would love to use her as my main...

Anyone who played devil may cry for the combos will tell you that ALL 4 starts are good because this is a combat focus game that involves a lot of combo juggling. DMC players love trying out different ways to do combos so they will use every character in the game. You can't approach this game the same way you approach genshin impact
Aintnoway. WuWa ain't even out yet but has deeper combat than Genshin. I'm not into comparisons but holy shit dude, this is legit insane.

Baizhi is one of the reason I'll play this game. Her design is so cool as a waifu, but not as good as loli verina kit wise. 😭

I don’t like playing 4 star dps’s so I’ll skip out on them. Would prefer if they were always weaker than 5 star options otherwise what’s the point. Just want solid 4 star supports that don’t require multiple copies before they’re even worth using.
