I totally agree with you, at least hurrem fought to protect her children, while kösem used her sons to protect her power
She did love her children at the begining and did everything she could to protect them, it wasn't easy after Ahmed died, unlike Hurrem who didn't have to struggle like that as long as Suleyman was alive. But unfortunately with time, Kosem became greedy and power hungry and that was her downfall.
@@Vik_felits because Kosem made promise with Ahmed to take care their childrens, state and empire... she loves Ahmed very much and for that reason, she could do anything just to not break her promise.
Just don't forget that this is just a drama series, not the actual history. But even in reality, it's true that Valide Kosem chose the protection of the Sultanate before her sons. In reality, Murad died of disease, not poised by Kosem, and Murad was a very cruel ruler, and was not worthy of of being a ruler, nor was Ibrahim for sure. That's why Kosem is my favorite Sultan.
