The Funny Cat & The Hockey Mom is a PAGE, not a group. Big difference. Pages can be seen by anyone… groups can be public, private, or even hidden. Pages just have “followers” & groups have “members”.
Great video and strategy, thanks for sharing. You mention "Facebook Page" and "Facebook Group" interchangeably, yet these are two very different things. Which one do you recommend, the Page or the Group? I find the Page is more about the Page owner posting things whereas the Group is more about a community posting amongst each other as well as the owner.
@@paulmanias8269 but he was showing a page at times, you can tell because it had the flag icon for a page and one said: "Page Transparency" and "Page Created" @20:27. It's an important distinction to make so people don't create the wrong platform for this strategy.
Yes guilty as charged - I meant "group" - the idea being that you create a group and get a bunch of people interested in the genre, and then you can link to a shop. I've found most people actually like supporting the artist and feeling like part of the group. Group group!! Thanks for the feedback
At 10:17, i have a query...if I have 'x' name shop on redbubble and make a group on FB with same name and share design and redbubble link. How it will be helpful to me. Does fb allows other platform links? Fb have denied my Amazon n clickbank affiliate links too before. Hence asking this query. Don't mind, went off topic a bit. But please answer. It will help me big time and others too, who might stumble upon this thread and read your response to my queries !!
Great Content !! One thing I would add...is that you have to be Present...!! I see a lot of Groups where the Users take CONTROL....and it would be really difficult to budge in the Conversation and say..."Would you like a T-shirt"....? So..it's NOT an "Automatic Money Making " machine.....and you have to make your Presence felt. My two cents.....
I am more likely to interact and be active in a group that is private. On a public group all the comments are public too and I just don't want all my comments to be seen by all my FB friends.

Not only have I been binge watching your videos while nursing my back, and finding tons of knowledge and inspiration, but now we are crossing into the realm of God! I want to start a FB Group for my Niche that I am very passionate about but how do we monitor the group so those comments that are inappropriate are filtered? Do we need to ask questions for people to join or just allow anyone to join? Can you do a video on how to attract people who are interested in joining, like using HashTags etc?
u r awesome as usual sir i have 2 questions first if i have a neache how can i designe for trends that doesn't relate to my neache? second, how do we get followers for a facebook page?
I would say if you have a Facebook Group or page and your designs are high quality, people will find you and buy your stuff. Or they will ask you to do custom work. So you can highlight your niche but you could always just say you are an artist (and thus can make lots of different things). Use the niche to promote your work and then potential customers will browse your store.
I think the Facebook Group is the best - it gives you a little corner of FB that you can carve out and make anything you want. I also join groups just for fun too!
Hi Zen, just another questions about multiple stores - do you have separate Facebook group, Pinterest acc for diff stores or you have one Facebook group and you promote them all together, meaning linking your designs from various platform on just one Facebook Group? And which do you prefer?
Yes it is a good question - it really depends on the type of designs in my opinion. Like if "you" are the common denominator (like you do airbrush artwork or graffiti artwork), then I would recommend one FB group with you as the theme. But if you are making designs centered around a topic (like soccer, sports, cats, etc.) then I would recommend having the topic being the focus of the group.
Yes great question. If you own the page, then you can control exactly what people post. Most FB pages have a little "rules" section. It's your page so you could just say "this is my page, we are discussing X, and I have a shop over here if interested." You can also be the admin so you would approve everything that gets posted. (It's time consuming but fun... most of the time)
Yes! That was going to be my question also. I know FB groups are a great way to cultivate a tribe to your store, but setting up the rules from the start to let everyone know what they can and can’t post is the way around the issue of someone joining your group just to promote their own products 😎
On that subject..... is it better to start a Group...or a "Business page " ...( ..as I don't think there's a BUY button in the "Group" interface ) ...or I'm I wrong ?
No you are bang on correct. The general idea with the group is that you would be totally up front about the "no selling" in the group (so that the group is not just 10,000 people hawking their goods) and then a few times a year you would post as the moderator and flat out say "here's my shop, you are supporting this site, etc" and then have your shop name / location right in the contact info. So people would get to know you (as the owner of the group) and they would either buy stuff or reach out for custom work & requests (which could be huge - at least historically it has been for me).
Just what I've been looking for,ido all the wrong things that you mentioned I do find social media hard especially with not having a specific niche. I have a general store on redbubble do you think I should just find a niche and stick to it even if it means deleting a lot of my work because it is harder getting people to a general store
I've struggle with that too - I've found what works (for me) is just having every design in a collection, so visitors to your store can focus on the stuff they want to see. (I try not to delete any designs, it was time well spent creating and uploading them)
@@zenwatercooler yes I do have collections for certain types of design but when I visit niche stores to check them out they look very tidy and organised which I makes you want to scroll through it. General store seem to be less organised and untidy looking . I suppose over time with a niche my store would look better the more and more niche designs I have. Once again great information in your video I will take it all on board 👍
I have a question. If (for example) you are enough lucky that you will create a lot of engaging in your page group. How can you control all the posts people are posting? You need to control if they are add bad posts or posts containing (for instance) violence. You will need to stay all the day in front of Facebook checking the content... How you will solve this problem?
Yes good question - typically pages have a “report post” option - so anyone who is part of the group can report a violating post. If you have a group with 20,000+ people, it definitely can be a time suck - so you would check your email (FB) and see if anyone reported a violation. You don’t need to police it - all the members will (hopefully) because it is their group too!
thank you. I started a print on demand a month and half ago just because I got stuck at home. My designs are general and not specific so it is impossible to create a niche for that. I use pinterest to get engagment it is slow but I hope will grow. By the way, I was thinking to create a second print on demand with a specific niche too and I will probably use Facebook. I have a niche and an idea in mind (there will be tons of this probably already but I will try too). Let' see how it will work. I'm already working like a monkey (12-14 hours) a day creating designs with a really low feedback yet but I hope it will grow in the future. I could use only pinterest for this POD in redbubble because it is too generic... Thank you for the suggestion. Ps I was thinking to come on Canada for an holiday once all this pandemic will finish. Any place to suggest? Summer time because I will probably die during winter
Am I right in thinking that the same strategy all be it within slightly different rules of where u could post what for Pinterest, you tube (using cute, funny, crazy, puppy videos)... Instagram...
Yes absolutely - I personally would not call them the same thing - so your page would be "Worship With Gladys" and that would be you (promoting you as a brand). Your group might "Social Bible Group" - the group would have everyone posting comments, sharing pictures, news articles, etc.
@@zenwatercooler Thank you so much! I spent all night thinking about this. Trying to strategize a name for the group now. I want to be able to bring together people who lead worship or general just love God and love music.
Do you mean an fb page is better from seo perspective, keyword search?, while an fb group faster leads to content share, group growth and the likelihood of buying from your store?
I think a FB group shows up in SEO seach more, but a group means that any member can post (which can be a ton of monitoring for spam or weirdoes). A page is less engaging but you (and only you) can post on your wall. So either could work (just depends on your individual situation).
