As we are is so layered in the meanig 😭It sounds like it's about a love song about being bound together forever, it can be read as being a friendship story too... But when you know him and see the MV you immediately understand that it's about his farewell to his old dream: being a baseball player. Him running the other side from his friends is him choosing music. It's a goodbye with no sadness but with huge respect and a promise to never forget. I love it
Felix, Felix , Felix…Out of the whole album Felix is the standout for me…We wait so long between his songs, but when he delivers , he really delivers…There is a saying quality or quantity and all I can say is Felix is definitely Quality…His portrayal of the beast is absolutely stunning…The emotion in his performance and his voice is ridiculously good…Unfair and the MV is an absolute masterpiece and will go down as one of the best songs visually and vocally…Deep End, Unfair, just brilliant Felix…🪽🪽🫠
31:15 The first time I heard that song in the tour videos I flet so emotional without even grasping the lyrics. There's so much energy in that song omg
I get what you're saying, but I really liked Hyunjin's song - in fact, it's my favorite of the ones you've watched (though all of them are great). Also, yes, Felix can hit those notes, and he does sing like that on some of their songs, but more frequently on b-sides. He has a wonderful voice. Giant is a great song, and I love the steampunk aesthetic of the video. That whole album is awesome. Walkin on Water took a bit to grow on me, but I love it now. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the rest of the solos!
No freaking way lol. You finally said who your bias is. Remember you asked me who my bias was and I wouldn’t tell you who until you said it first? Hyunjin pronounced he-un-jin is my bias 😉. I loved So Good, I find him so artistic in everything he does. But my favorite solo so far is Changbin’s Ultra. We’re still waiting for Chan to drop his solo Railway. These solos are performed at their world tour concerts. It’s unfortunate you didn’t watch the official dance practice of Walking On Water. I think it would help you appreciate the old hip hop genre that they went for with this song. Their dancing was really good.
So I have a few biases and in no particular order.. ChangBin (his rap/vocals plus his adorable mouth) BangChan (errrm like what's not to love?) Seungmin (his vocals somehow sooth my soul) Hyunjin (love his style, looks, and his vocal versatility) I'm sure this will change and I'll flip flop around because Felix/IN are... 👀
@@tdragonreactions I only have 2 biases, you know how I feel about GD, he will always be my ult., and Hyunjin for so many reasons, I see the genius in him that is slowly starting to come out, his songs or the ones he co-worked on are some of my favourites, he continuously surprises me and his personality, I learn a lot from him socially. His voice...and I personally think he is the best dancer in the industry. #2 is Changbin #3 is Seungmin but if he keeps going like that he could be Changbin’s wrecker. #4 Chan #5 Han and Lee Know #6 I.N and Felix
27:47 I think I can see what you mean. To me So good is really a vibing song more than a complex production. Hyunjin's songs are usually more into vibe than structure or lyrics, which is different from chan's taste for complex structures and layers. So good doesn't pull me in neither but I really like it as background music
2:22 Indeed. As a black person, I loved how they incorporated elements from Hip Hop culture to their own traditional Korean culture but also their own story as musicians (reference to their Noeasy album), instead of just cosplaying as hiphop rappers. It was a great tribute to their inspirations and to their own story
Thanks for your comment! Do you know, sometimes I worry and it's crossed my mind if your community would view it as cultural appropriation. What I've learned is that Koreans have always gravitated towards the hip hop genre, 1000x more than my own community I would say, and that's bc of their love for it. Would you say your view is common or split amongst your friends?
@tdragonreactions for stray kids it's usually okay cause they really create their own genre out of it but also other kinds of music like pop and metal, and they have always paid tribute to artists like Kendrick Lamar. However even them went a bit borderline at some points, usually out of ignorance (for example Chan imitating Childish Gambino thinking it was just a weird and funny dance move without realizing he was imitating a minstrel figure, making it extremely offensive to black people from the US). Also, groups (or more precisely their agency) often take things that have a HUGE significance for black people such as cornrows (heritage of slavery) and other hairstyles like locks that black people are persecuted for (denied employment, denied housing, etc.) as if it was cool meaningless accessories to "cosplay" cool hip hop rappers without acknowledging the history and reality of it. All that while South Korea is still highly anti-black and black people are extremely discriminated against in the K-Pop industry. Basically they (companies) take our things to make money, undermine the history and significance of it, exclude black people and don't even tour in Africa or the Caribbean because they have the stereotypical image that they don't have money anyway so who cares. I believe that when someone loves a culture they should be mindful of the history and significance it has for the people from which it originated so I'd say it depends on the specific actions, it depends on everyone's sensitivity to race based violence and even if I know some stays decided to not be stays after some actions (like the Childish Gambino thing) I still appreciate them and I wouldn't unvalidate the ones who were hurt and unstaned
Also maybe you didn't know (or just wanted to save it for another video) but I.N had also released his solo at the time you made the reaction ahah, it's called Hallucination
6:14 oh just a little correction on the pronunciation: Hyun-jin is pronounced with the "y" quite soft and "H" and "y" are not pronounced together so it is NOT Hi-yun But H-yun. Basically it is pronounced a bit like Hun-jin
Unfair is so visually stunning

Omg that makes so much sense.
18:01 it's really giving the type of movies from the 2000s that became famous like 300, or Hell boy I love it

I'm going to react to Deep End. It's there another solo song that I can react to that you love?
Stray Kids Japanes MVs are always SO GOOD
Any recommendations?
@tdragonreactions The sound, Scar and All in !

Hyunjin is my bias too so was hard for me to even say it. 😭 I've since listened to it more and can definitely still vibe with it.

37:46 He said he just watched the movie and wanted to show the Beast's perspective
All the other members are out now except Chan. His will be out the 26th. Stray Kids really gave us an album with 9 music videos... what 😭😭
😭 What a wonderful Christmas 2024 has been.
@tdragonreactions oh I know these boys work so hard for us 😭
You missed I.N’s solo! That and Railway are probably my favorite, but I love all the projects so much for different reasons.
😭 I just saw CB just came out with one too. I'll do a part 2.
Felix said it was a relatable subject that everyone has felt before, and that everyone is deserving of love.
I really like that and it's very true.❤️
32:50 he does both ! His range in deep end is way more impressive tho !
Can't wait!
The holiday version is soooo adorable

I was supposed to do that one but then did Felix instead. No regrets though bc I'll have to do another solo reaction...and I have to include deep end.
16:52 not the survival show trauma 😭
I still have a few more episodes to go.
Yes all the harmonies in unfair are Felix
Wow.😍
oh my god it's been a while
🤭

Thank you for the correction. I needed that reminder bc I keep butchering his name and I don't mean to. ❤️
