This dude probably led the league in fumbles when he played, and it's tough to find an elite QB. Deal with it! Fucking cry baby. Tomlin took a timeout with 2:02 left in a game with the ball. Damn right, he made mistakes early. Ben didn't get the SB MVP for obvious reasons in 43 and he receives shit until this day for how poorly he played in 40. Our coach and 98% of our team is black. You're going to single out one of 10 white people in the bldg and his relationship with Pittsburgh and you have the balls to call other people racist? GTFOH! Why the headset? Did you keep dropping the mic they gave you on the floor? Fucking bane of our existence when you were in Pittsburgh! I'm so tired of everything being about race when the Rooneys don't fit that description and the entire sports media wants you to believe that 4 years with a playoff win out of 19 is the standard. UrinatingTree whose a nfl RUclipsr and Steelers fan said it best: “yinzers will have a klan hoodie next to a mean Joe green jersey and see no issue with that.” The ONLY reason as a black Pittsburgher I started to give a damn about the Steelers is BECAUSE of Mike Tomlin because when he was first hired here, you’d have thought it was the sounding of the trumpets for Revelations. He's not wrong about us getting away from what was working. Bruce Arians gets a lot of credit for his accomplishments after leaving Pittsburgh & deservedly so, but Rashad is not wrong. As a Steelers fan it was frustrating as hell watching offensively us doing the complete opposite depending on the opponents we played. We're matched up against one of the best passing defenses in the NFL that year while Green Bay played against one of the best rushing defenses that year. Defensely it was a bad match up for us especially with Troy not being 100%, and the arrival of Jordie Nelson who was eating up anyone not named Ike Taylor on the outside while Greg Jennings was in the slot (which was the trend that year in the league-number #1 receiver in the slot). Offensively, it was in our favor to run the ball to set up the pass especially with the injuries to Hines Ward & Emanuel Sanders and yet we tried to turn it into a QB duel. Now if this was the regular season have at it, but like Rashad said the SuperBowl was the worst time to try to pull this off. Yeah Rashad fumbled at the worst time, but Ben still threw interceptions in those games that hurt us equally as bad cause those interceptions were points we left on the field.

So we was loosing and #7 was engineering a 4th q comeback(like he's done more than anybody not named Brady or Manning) and this MF fumble the ball. The thing everyone is forgetting is the Pouncey injury that happened against the Jets in the AFCC game. Doug Legursky played as good as he could have but it was still a significant downgrade to what Pouncey was doing, especially all the pulling plays. On Ben's INT that got ran back it was the NT that hit his arm right as he threw and altered the path of the ball into the defensive back. Rashard likes to bring up the fact the Matthews was unblocked when he hit him in the backfield which caused the fumble but nobody wants to talk about how Ben got hit as he threw which lead to the pick six. You can't have it both ways Rashard. And I think it also goes without saying that the Pouncey injury affected their ability to run block also which might have lead to them wanting to pass more. Who knows but that decision in on Tomlin, not Ben or some secret society who wanted Ben to be the MVP

But as far as the superbowl the Packers went up 14-0 first quarter and it was 21-10 at half, you can no longer run the ball and take time off the clock when you get behind like that. Turnovers made them get out of the game plan. These fellas understand football better than that.

But their was an agenda to get Ben the MVP, I see his point as well, but yet and still his fumble was big bc the Steelers had the momentum back and were driving when he fumbled. 🤷🏽‍♂️

There's a reason teams in NFL who have a two score or more lead in the first half of games usually win the game. Do you think teams are out leading 2nd half comebacks all the time in the playoffs especially in the Superbowl. You think teams overcome huge 1st half deficits in the SB like the Patriots did over the Falcons on the regular?! No this is a fact the overwhelming majority of teams losing by two or more scores at half in SB usually lose.

Obviously there’s he experienced a lot of pain from the backlash and I would agree ben probably had a big ego ( but all the players who make it that far need it to a degree ). He wants to put the blame on ben and have ben take accountability for a fumble. He wants to say it’s a loss on the whole team, which is true in some aspects. But a fumble is the job of the running back and it’s not like he was getting so many carries that he it increased his chances to mess up. That’s on him and he won’t accept it.

Then he brings up the top 100 NFL players and AB being #2…My dude Ben didn’t compile that list of the top 100 NFL players! Maybe your negativity did more to hurt the team then anything else. Because negativity is contagious and misery enjoys company. You’re talking about AB being 2nd best in the NFL and Ben not even being a top ten qb but at the same time this dude wasn’t even the best RB on the team…I’m surprised Tomlin didn’t ship you out asap because he don’t seem like the type of coach to let a disgruntled player that isn’t even a starter point out what he thinks the problem with the team is. Obviously they were doing something right because of the success they were having. It sounds like he’s blaming Ben for the times they didn’t win and when they did win he’s giving all the credit to the defense. And yes that defense was lit in 08 but give a little credit to the rest of the team. Also his entire point was that they win and lose AS A TEAM. Not as individuals. His point about the superbowl strategy was valid. They went from a run heavy offense to a pass first offense out of nowhere and when it backfired they threw him under the bus. Ben was a great QB but he was barely top 5 in his prime. The turning point was when Wallace and Sanders both threw Ben under the bus after leaving Pittsburgh. So of course Ben is gonna start calling out players.
Mendenhall is reaching big time. Ben has never been given all of the credit in Pittsburgh. He just can’t get over fumbling. And most steeler fans don’t remember it as THE fumble. Losing that game was Ben’s two picks, Rodgers making amazing throws, Rashad’s fumble when they were about to take the lead, and Ben not making the game winning drive with two minutes left.

Even though it starts with the Oline, the WRs have to run good routes, the DBs and LBs have to cover. But you dont really see any of that because of that stupid broadcast view. Then when it comes to contracts, they get all this money, even though if everyone around them suck, they will be terrible. So why arent the guys around them more valuable and visible? Yes the QB has a difficult job, but so does EVERYBODY else on the field. Shoot RBs have to know the same stuff basically but you see they arent important now because QBs have to get paid record numbers.

Because they still want a broader audience traditionally the QB we’re all white which is who they advertised and drew in a ton of white fans look at NFL today in this mobile QB error it’s been terrible honestly

So I have an honest question, how isn’t this Tomlin’s fault? We’re always told how great of a leader Tomlin is, but all of this happened under his watch as leader. He allowed AB to grow his ego, he allowed Ben to have his ego, his quote “We’ll tolerate you until we can replace you.” speaks volumes because to name as long as you seemed irreplaceable he wasn’t going to coach you as you needed to be coached, tell you what you needed to hear no matter what bad side effects it caused🤷‍♂️

The reason it isn't Tomlin's fault is because he's one of the few black head coaches in the league. Any white Steeler fan who criticizes Tomlin in any way is automatically called a racist so let's just quit beating around the bush and tell it like it is

COMPLETELY agree with him on this. I always thought Ben was a little bit of a fraud and for some reason nobody ever talks about the two sexual assault charges he got away with. Rashad did his thing I-L-L!!

I always been puzzled why more players don’t publicly feel this way.
The whole team can be dope but the most coddled and protected position(QB) gets all the credit for wins. I mean of course qb is an important position but no football team has ever won solemy based off only qb play.
You need a total great team to do that in football. When’s the last time a defender has gotten a national tv segment for getting 10 tackles or a o lineman for preventing 0 sacks?
But I qb can have a mid game and get the whole package just because the team wins.

Lane Johnson gets talked about every game not allowing sacks. Fred Warner gets PLENTY of credit. But the ball is in the QBs hands for half the game. That’s why they get most of the credit

Ben Roethlisberger was leading the team to a comeback in that superbowl, what caused the steelers to lose was Mendenhall fumbling the ball. Sure ben turned the ball over early but he was making his wrongs right and over coming adversity. Mendenhall was the key momentum stopper in that game. That loss falls on his shoulders

No the hell he was not. He was a Flawed running back. His body type was that of a power back trucking bruiser who runs straight up the middle. yet his bitch ass hated contact at the line so he was always bouncing his inside runs to the outside without the lead blocker. Then came the stupid ass spins. Man had the body to run people over but would rather Juke spin hurdle on a thin ass 180 pound cornerback. His whole game was weak
