my cousin owned a security company that worked concerts in santa fe I worked a blues fest for him and my job was to watch the instruments during setup. Stevie comes out to do a sound check on his guitars. i watched him for a bit and he walked over to me to ask me for a light I gave him my lighter he lit a joint smoked it looked at me asked me how old I was and when I told him I was 19 he passed me the joint. got high with Stevie in 1983.
I was working at night and called my local “oldies” radio station and asked the DJ to play me the “funkiest, bluesiest song she knows..” and this was the song she played.. after that I was HOOKED and began my journey through the blues to this day..
GOD WAS JUST SHOWING OFF WHEN HE MADE STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN!!
I love this!
Man! that is so fn good, holy shit! bluesiest i' ve ever heard SRV. RIP STEVIE! This is what the world is missing out on with his passing The G.O.A.T. !!!!!!
Best ever version of this track is SRV with Johnny Copeland live from Montreux it’s in my opinion the best you’ll ever see two LEGENDS absolutely kill it & feed off each other on stage RIP to both of them!!! 🙌🏽🔥💯
Yes agree two legends on top of their game mesmerising to watch over and over again. Love the bit when Stevie shook his finger and smiled when Johnny forgot the words.💪
I agree
Hey Kiddo's just in case you're watching this legend...I just wanted to tell you that I cut my teeth listening to this Legend and still Rockin to his music today . What kinda cameraman pans towards the river and this kinda shredding happening !?
Wow this one's definitely my second favorite version of this song! My favorite version of this song is when he did this one with Johnny Copeland. No wonder Stevie played number 13 strings anything less and he would break every string as soon as he started to play.
It just doesn't get any better than that!
Let's also give it up for "Double Trouble" as well. It is well documented that Stevie seldom plays a song the same way as the last time. When he goes off on his musical sojourns, the guys have to keep with him. You will notice them constantly looking at him for clues as to when things are going to drop or change, & come back to the pocket.
You will also see little smiles when it sounds like it's all about to come back & then Stevie goes off on another tangent instead. It can be seen in all their live performances.
One of the best 3 piece combos ever assembled, in the history of ....everything.
That's quite common especially in blues and jazz which are based heavily on improvisation. Stevie on the other hand is one of the greats that does it with style and always sound good and of course god tier guitar playing. Also he's vocals oozes with soul. Tin Pan Alley is one of my favorites.
@@ManWithoutThePants So true man. I'm with you on that.
He was sober n livin a clean life n was on top of the world n his playin was better than it ever was n then he was gone. This old man cried the day he died. All the music we lost. Was a very sad day for us blues lovers 😔
How in the hell did I miss this? Damn, he destroyed this. I heard some awesomeness going on when the camera panned to the boats messing up the moment. Great reaction.
I'm at home on a Saturday night and all I have is Stevie playing anything? I'll take that🤙
Am glad I was able to have the privilege to listen to this once in about 500 years kid of musician!!!!!....the GOAT
I saw Stevie dozens of times at various bars in Austin TEXAS 🇨🇱 in the mid 70's. 😁 The last time I saw him was in '85 on the Texas Flood tour.🔥🤗 And yeah, it's way f-ing cool to watch him play about 3 feet away from you.💯🤯 RIP Stevie.🙏 Thank you for the music you gave us.😢❤️✌️
The fact that he is constantly changing pickups with the switch, sometimes even only for one note, nearly unnoticed... is unbelievable. I´m so jealous for the people who got to see him live, i was born just before he died...
Living for the WHISKEY, WINE, and GIN!
This isnt sexy its BLUES - the down and dirty lifetime of woes blues, played by a true blues guitar LEGEND. Im fully aware of how many serious blues legends are out there, but after seeing this version of this song when it comes down to getting a guitar to talk cry scream and breath the blues NOBODY did it better than Stevie, and again I know that seems a virtually impossible statement to make, but when I see Stevie like this it feels true. I was so lucky to see him play live twice back in the day and I was truly blessed. RIP STEVIE, WE ALL MISS LOVE AND REMEMBER YOU.
Can’t get enough of Stevie THE GOAT! His band are ALL GOATS!
Yes, a whole another level...SRV never ceases to amaze me!
You guys have played quite a few of Stevie Ray's videos. I'm sorry to differ from some others out there who prefer the one with Copeland, but this is Stevie Ray Vaughan at his Blues Best. My God. Thanks for sharing this one. Wow.
Blues incarnate. The way he played the first part I was wishing he would do the whole song just with the guitar. And I LOVE SRV's vocals! But his fingers took me into an absolutely sensual place. I understand why Travis declared it sexy. I much prefer this performance to the stunning one with Johnny Copeland. Stevie Ray never disappoints. He just takes you with him to that "whole other level" experience to spaces and textures you never could imagine exist. Utter magic!
Stevie and music that breeches the soul......nasty!!!!!!!!! Great reaction, love how much u2 get into the music!!! Mad Respect!. One of the masters of blues guitar.
Tears instantly 😢
GOAT!!!! Chill bumps overcome me every single time
It’s so hard to call… but one of my top three or four favorite SRV recordings! The man was simply amazing, RIP Stevie!
SRV had enough soul for three lifetimes, bless him.
Makes me wonder how many in the crowd realize what they are historically witnessing…..that looks like a festival but I don’t know haven’t seen this song from that performance. Thanks amazing
I think the crowd was spell bound...along with us, all these years later. R.I.P SRV
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats
**Voodoo Child in Finland** (He shakes a dude's hand while still palying)
**Ain't Gone 'N' Give Up On Love at Capitol Theater**
Thats the kind of blues that will make you think you done lost your baby while your getting busy
Hey guys if ya wanna see a more "intimate" live performance of SRV gotta check out him doing the song " I'm leaving you (commit a crime) from the Riverboat President ( New Orleans ) think it was Mardi gras 87' 🔥🔥🔥
Webster's Dictionary is still looking for a word to describe and justify this man but.... Still Looking !
Light after dark. He saw he saw and gave a glimpse of the truth. Lord have mercy on the rest of us.
His voice is unreal to go with it wow what a talented man
That white Strat with those lipstick pickups is my dream guitar
Was in germany at that time,,, but 200 miles away. DAMN!!!
Literalmente: te deja la mandíbula en el piso!. Un verdadero genio Steve. Una pena su partida tan joven; tenía tanto para darle aun al mundo de la música. Gracias por reaccionar a esta canción.
You are a ver observate woman! I've never heard a person give Tommy Shannon propts so thank you girl!
Rollercoaster! Need a nap now..............
Motionless in White - masterpiece 🙏💯🔥
Absolutely the best. So sad when he passed. How could his guitar be silenced? Love to watch his videos. Love your reactions.
Love your reactions guys‼️ 👏🙌I have watched all your SRV reactions and I clicked fast when I saw this one. I love this version of Tin Pan Alley but I especially love how differently he treats and interprets this song from one time to the next. He is always playing in the moment so the same song never comes out the same and it keeps things fresh. But something about this song with its deep, down and dirty blues allows him to be even more varied. You can't claim you've heard this song by him because you haven't heard him perform with Johnny Copeland at Montrouex Switzerland, or his absolutely exquisite version from Toyko. In his Toyko performance he transitions from Tin Pan Alley into Dirty Pool in the sickest transition you've ever heard💙💯. I would love to see you guys react to a few different versions of this song because I can promise you they are very different.✌️💙
Yes....so true. The same goes for his other songs, particularly when he covers Voodoo Chile/Child?
My favorite version is with Johnny Copeland
Absolute Master
Oh man! First time seeing this version, and I thought you couldn’t beat the one he did with Johnny Copeland but WOW!! Thanks again for spreading the Stevie love.
I was blessed with seeing Stevie live twice. The 1st time I was maybe 30 feet away. It was amazing. The 2nd time was the night he died. It not only had Stevie, but also his brother Jimmie, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, and Robert Cray. The last s
THE BEST THERE EVER WAS.. THE BEST THERE EVER WILL BE... THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER!!! PERIOD!!! OTHERS HAVE TRIED.. BUT ... REALLY??
One of his best for sure:-) Great pick and an awsome reaction as always!
Amazing
A lot of the time Stevie literally had to superglue his fingertips back on due to them literally being shredded…in some videos you can see and it’s pretty gnarly…he’d dissolve an 8 ball of coke in a huge glass of whiskey before shows…and he was 10x the player sober. God bless him
Love SRV's very Hendrixian outfit...
Great jam and what a rack as well
Talk about in THE ZONE! This is not my favorite song of his, but this version KILLS!
I was there that fatal night in Wisconsin. The last song Stevie ever played on stage was Sweet Home Chicago. Ironic that it is where he was flying to when the copter hit the ski slope. Foggiest night I've ever known in all my 60 years
Amazing SRV
Love you guys! Love SRV GOAT as a person as well as a guitarist he also played drums! Great tune! Miss you my friend enjoyed when we jammed! So blessed you were a fellow musician friend! Your music lives on as well as your message of sobriety but you know this you are looking down from the heavens! 😊🫶🎸🍁🦃☀️🌵🇺🇸🙏
GOAT!
I never heard/saw this performance. Wow. SRV was just something else, and a super nice guy as well. Maybe it's best to leave this earth at one's peak. Thank you, Stevie, and the Wolf HunterZ.
You guys are so much fun! ❤️🤘🏻
Dat hair doe! 😍
Yes , that was incredible !!!!
My soul has been blessed, by, an Angel on Guitar 🎸
The last song had everybody doing solos to Sweet Home Chicago. It was held at Alpine Valley, a helicopter ride from Chicago. Clapton's guys were heading back to Chicago and had one empty seat. Stevie asked Eric if he could take the last seat and he said sure. The pilot took off and turned to soon and flew into the side of a ski slope. The world changed for me that night. If anybody is intetested that last song that Stevie played is on RUclips. Search for the song, Stevie and Chicago should get you there.
.... and Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton are Great too. Wow !!! Thanx für this reaction- Video
Check out srv sound check
STEVIE=GUITAR ATHLETE SUPREME
Glad I watched this one. Now I know without a doubt the performance with Johnnie Copeland was legendary.
I love your reaction so much! Especially, because you're playing metal, and, yet, you're able to appreciate other kind of music so much! Even, if, in fact, you're like me, you understood music, is not a question of kind of music, style, of music, but a question of, it's touching your heart, and soul or not! I like the smile of the man! And, the woman, because, she's super sexy! 😂I will continue to follow you! Super Reaction! Peace from France guys! ✌️😂👍🎸🇫🇷
Bassist Tommy Shannon is a god.
I love Stevie Ray. He is my all time favorite, but I laugh to myself sometimes about how he dresses. If you dress in a mariachi outfit with a ruffled shirt you better be able to play the crap out of that guitar. He does…..and if I could play like him. I’d dress the same way because his outfits match the play. If I could not play and dressed like that I’d be laughed out. He makes it ultra cool
You're right. Few could pull it off, but, he does.
@@deeplorable8988 he sure does
I really like the one with Johnny Copland! Anything he does is otherworldly! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The GOAT OF GOATS!
yeah the bass parts are so phenomenal, its like on par with steve harris of iron maiden.
dang I was hoping you would be doing the version of him and legend Johnny Copeland, that's amazing
You should check out Little Wing from the same concert.
But this was stellar too😆
Babies were conceived during this song l’m sure. 🙃
After this song, I bet his guitar needed a cigarette
It's funny how many aspiring guitarists watch just a few minutes of Stevie doing his thing and quickly realize they know nothing.
He is still missed.
This is wonderful, but the Tin Pan Alley from Montreaux 1985 is better, with Johnny Copeland.
Nothing to say S R V
Like 8g of cocaine day he was like no joke
Does anyone know who made his outfits?
The boat amd b roll for the best part. Bs
Kinda makes you feel like you need a smoke after that performance, doesn't it?
UH OH! SRV is smashing Miss Q's S-spot 😜
Hey! It's the main guitar solo...let's pan around at boats & shit.
Should have done this with SRV & Johnny Copeland. live
loreley?...........its Rockpalast !
😎👍🇺🇲🇺🇦🚜🌻
See what's before you and still don't believe it. That's the human condition.
Please leave the sexy to susi travis lol 😆
