    I'm loving the "stop and smell the roses" pace you're keeping instead of the death march miles of the PCT. You've even been stopping to chat with hikers and horse ladies, something you really didn't have time for on the PCT.

    I was thinking the last video when i saw you hiking with just tiny shoulder straps that you might regret it after a day of your pack rubbing that boney part of your shoulder....been there done that Jen....I really like the slow pace of your hike where you can really look around and enjoy the journey....I believe the Desolation/JMT is some of the neatest country of the Sierra's....although perfect country for the occasional Puma...!! Great video Burst....thanks for sharing....Dyana is a fun partner....looking forward to No.4 !!! Lake Aloha is unbelievably beautiful... very popular destination !!!

    Love these videos. Can I make two suggestions? Apart from ‘wash your feet!’ (Sorry) For anyone suffering with painful shoulder straps don’t forget you can cut pieces off your foam mat as padding. It’s worth carrying a spare piece of closed cell foam and some tape when using a new pack or carrying a heavier load.
    And it’s great to see a hiker carrying a plb but it would be ideal to have it on your person, not your pack. If your pack rolls off a ledge you lose the plb too; if you leave your pack to go take a picture but then trip and fall down into some rocks, etc etc.

    Hi Whimsy! Nice to see you on trail again! I know it feels so good to get back out in the boonies! Dyana is so funny! What a great hiking partner! A coupla thots: why not carry a nail brush to help you do a number on your feet et alia? and a head net? and a long sleeve shirt to go over the long sleeved t shirt. and keep you warmer? and why, when you have the sun to warm up in, don't you jump in a sunny lake? I remember that they are freezing, but quickly? and scrubbing down? and a small bottle of whisky to help you warm up when you jump out? The lap of luxury! WHy didn't you warn the horse lady about the lions? That way if her horses start snorting and getting antsy, she'll be warned and hold them close!

    The filthy peace sigh! Life goals! ❤️ I have a quick question. In areas with bears, and putting your can and hang away from the tent...do you ever bring a snack in the tent in case you wake starving? I tend to eat a snack right before bed after getting all clean and cozy.

    • @JenniferMabus
      @JenniferMabus  4 года назад +1

      I never ever ever have food in my tent or anything that has a scent when I am around bears. If you wake starving, I would just get up and go to your bag or can and eat something.

    There should be no reason for sore shoulders; perhaps you are not carrying your pack properly. I know, I know, you've completed the PCT and don't need advice about carrying a pack BUT: you might try wearing the waist belt really tight, so that the majority of the weight is on your hips. Your shoulders will thank you for it.
