I think the most underrated gk has been Leno this season. Raya's been one of the most talked about keepers in the league but Leno hardly gets a mention bcs he previously played at a big six club
no one really cares about goalkeepers they are mostly all the season and boring

Tbf underrated because he's top 3 keepers in the league but routinely gets labelled by rival fans as average. But Leno and Raya do deserve to be there because they've arguably gone more under the radar

Mitoma has be on the wing for me, would love to see him at Arsenal. Was their best player against us and what a season he's having so far for Brighton.

Ben Mee should get a mention... mans been a rock at the back for Brentford this season

Ben Mee's entire career has been underrated, extremely consistent for Burnley for a decade. Never got an England call up because he doesn't play for a top 6 side,

Nketiah is not underrated. Arsenal fan here and Nketiah is not good enough, they would do better if they have Ollie Watkins or Ivan Toney lmao. Nketiah only scores tap ins really, he has decent goals per matches played but that really is due to how dominant Arsenal is, he would flop real hard in weaker team because he waste so much chances and is very inefficient really. His all around play is also average. Now that Jesus is fit Nketiah should be like third choice after Trossard and Jesus.
Choosing between two managers who currently sit below Marco Silva's newly promoted Fulham. Make it make sense.
They both have games in hand and are clearly better teams

@@joekenny1992hey’ve both scored more than Fulham in fewer games, they’ve conceded less, they’ve lost fewer games, play better brand of football (especially Brighton, I guess you could argue Brentford don’t but I’d disagree) they both have a superior average possession of the ball per game than Fulham, take more shots, concede less shots. Both have have far more goals scored from open play than Fulham. Fulham have scored a fair few of their goals from set pieces/penalties Good enough for you?😊

i think almost all of the villa 11 is actually good except for maybe one or two

If we're talking about underrated, longevity should not be a valid argument, quite the opposite.
Thomas Frank's longevity at Brentford means he's not underrated but highly rated.
De Zerbi on the other hand, no one expected him to be successful after Potter left, everyone thought Brighton would face a crisis, but they didn't. And don't forget they also lost Trossard and still they're doing amazing. If you're looking for who's been underrated, it can be only De Zerbi, because he surprised almost everyone.
Great topic for this episode though, especially with all the 'overperforming' teams this year.

@@kananstark9847 Bro ake has been a CB in a back 3 for city all season, left-sided CB but still a CB. Also he's made cancelo get less minutes, Gomez barely plays, and with a lot of competition for cb spots at city before stones got injured and walker took a while out he was still starting the majority of games so he's defo keeping some rotating CB out of the starting 11 at some stage while he keeps playing.

Gnonto has shined for how low down leeds are and not many leeds fans knew much about him when he joined such as myself and the fact he is only 18. Not saying he is better but i think he deserves it.

Matheus Nunes at Wolves is a world-class midfielder, probably the smoothest player in the whole prem. Going to be a superstar at a top european side one day, just watch..

robinson for fulham is absolutely insane
hugo bueno for wolves at his age starting, regularly needs to be acknowledged
eze is pretty exceptional as far as 10s go with natural 1v1 ability and technical strides that no player in the midfield has in the prem
foden. it amazes me that most humans think that he isn't the best in the premier league. he is by quite a distance the best player and the fact city lost so many points without foden for only a month and a half shows how important he is
brennan johnson is an exceptional high energy dribbler and he clearly has good intelligence and goalscoring capabilities. definitely getting a big move soon
lodi and aurier are both pretty good for maintaining expansive 4 at the back structures so they get respective shouts
gnonto is definitely a stretch but for a youngster his size, technique and dribbling are all ideal traits any winger has and italy will need to be sure he is included in their 11 or at least the bench immediately to have a go at retaining the euros
ouattara will be insane for the cherries but out of them that just about concludes it

As a Palace fan Schlupp has genuinly been our worst player this season, not one Palace fan rates him
I think Graham potter would be interesting candidate because he was so good at Brighton and instilled the philosophy that the new manager inherited and seems similar so given an easier task than being given that Chelsea team and pressure that came with it. He needed at least a full season/pre season and to remove some players and chose who to go in and have the time in preseason to train the players with his staff properly rather than when a game is round the corner.
I look forward to seeing his next club and how they grow.
The villa and Fulham managers are worth a shout but when the normal top teams struggle it's hard to say but great managers adapt and exploit weaknesses after all.

Its not recency bias at all. I'm not saying the lad isn't playing well. I'm saying he is being highly overrated. Botman helps him out of massive trouble on a weekly basis and having joelinton infront of him helps. The fact he isn't a natural lb means we don't have attacks down that side and now teams have worked that out.

Dan burn job isn’t to attack, he’s just there to pass it to the LW (preferably ASM) for him to do ASM things.
I think Eddie Howe is just using Dan burn really well. And Dan burn has been doing really well.

RB is Kenny Tete for me. The guy has had an insane season imo and I personally didn't see that coming. I knew about his talent back from his Ajax days, but he's been struggling over the years. So happy for the guy that he's constantly showing what he's capable of this season

Most underrated striker is definitely Ivan Toney, proven by the fact that these guys haven't even mentioned him.

@@EspieJaz I think he is peaking now however, put him in an even better team he would be hitting even bigger numbers in terms of stats. I hope he stays where he is but you'd think Man Utd might look at him as a cheaper option if they don't get Kane/Osimhen for example. Great player and sad that we never kept him at Newcastle. Had a load of good loan spells then we let him go for pennies.
I promise you Jeff schlup is no where near the level of the prem had one good game against United and that’s it, I like him but he isn’t underrated at all

raya norgaard mee henry and toney by far, especially norgaard the man has only lost two games hes played/ hes kante levels without anyone noticing. he changes the feel to a brentford squad soo simply and makes you think you can get a result against anyone if hes playing

Agree 👏🏻 for example - Renan Lodi just got called up by Brazil, Serge Aurier has been arguably the best free transfer, MGW was laughed at for the price we paid but has been on fire, Remo Freuler, Ryan Yates etc etc
Giving air time to people like Specs who have one-dimensional thinking and who can't be objective is the reason why our fanbase are perceived as toxic, biased and insufferable 🤣

People can't keep picking the same players for "underrated" over and over and over. Obviously they're not underrated then. Palhinha has been picking every single time anyone has done this, but people clearly rate him. Players like Leno, Tavernier, Ben Mee, Douglas Luiz, Tarkowski, Mcneil and even to this day, Pascal Groß, are actually underrated
Newcastle fan - Burn's been good, but underrated is massively pushing it imo - he gets brought up all the time, along with Botman. Newcastle's 2 underrated players by an absolute mile this season are Fabian Schar and Joe Willock.

Forest fan. Would have picked MGW because he is genuinely underrated whereas nobody is sleeping on Johnson.
McKenna would have been a solid pick and probably one of the hardest cb to beat in the prem, if he wasn't injured all the time. He was our best player last season, probably the best cb in the champ while a lot of other players get all the plaudits. Always in the right position, times interceptions perfectly, one of the prem's strongest players too. So he would have been a solid choice. Ake and Dunk....better players maybe but underrated? Nah everyone rates them. Likewise Nketiah.....he isn't underrated but I don't know who I'd pick instead of him tbh
I love Nketiah. Been absolutely stellar in my FM atm and hope he does awesome next season
Paulinha isn’t underrated though, everybody has clocked how brilliant he’s been this season. He’s rated.

Bold shout but for me, Aguerd at West Ham has been really solid in all competitions. Think he goes under the radar a little because West Ham have been so poor in front of goal. But if you look at their defensive record this season, it's not bad at all. For me, he has to be in there.
