  • In this video, I detail how we recovered a 2000 pound anchor from an 80 foot depth. Then get it back to base. No one on the team, including myself had ever actually lifted something like this out of the ocean, or attached it to a helicopter. We were however, very confident in our ability to problem solve. Watch to see how we got it out!

Instead of faffing about trying to get the anchor up onto the wooden frame; would it have been easier just to have put a cargo net under the anchor and airbag it up, and the helo winch hook just connects to the cargo net , with you waiting in zodiac and away you go?

@@larkmars8182 yeah now that you mention it I really want to have a job that will push me to my physical and mental limit. I want to be faced with challenges that will make me a better person and surround me with the best of the best. Coast guard it is!!

Papa Bishop I get that, people point out the dichotomy between the two jobs to help you decide but really the dichotomy is what makes it hard to decide because if they were basically the same than deciding would be easy. Right now I’m torn between pj and sf.
