- Without removing the Intelligent Key from your pocket or purse, you can lock or unlock your doors, open the trunk lid and start the engine. These lock and unlock functions are operational when the Intelligent Key® is with you or in your pocket or purse. To enter the vehicle, simply push the Door Lock Request Switch located on the driver and front passenger door handles. To open the trunk lid, push the trunk request switch.
The intelligent key can also be used to activate the panic alarm by pressing this button for more than one second. The panic alarm will sound and headlights will stay on for a period of time.
To start the engine, firmly apply the foot brake. Then push the ignition switch. The engine will start. To turn your engine OFF, move the shift selector to the P or Park position, and push the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Your Intelligent Key is also equipped with all the functions of the Remote Entry system for operating door locks and windows.
To prevent accidentally locking your key inside the vehicle, your Intelligent Key has lockout protection. If you exit with the Intelligent Key inside, it will unlock all doors immediately and sound a warning chime as soon as you close the door.
If the battery of the Intelligent Key is discharged, or environmental conditions interfere with the Intelligent Key operation you can start the engine by placing the shift selector in the P or Park position, firmly apply the foot brake, and touch the ignition switch with the Intelligent Key. A chime will sound. Within 10 seconds after the chime sounds, with the foot brake applied, push the ignition switch. The engine will start.
In a rare instance when your Intelligent Key battery is discharged, you can still use the Mechanical Key to lock or unlock the vehicle. You will find the Mechanical Key concealed on the back of the Intelligent Key. To remove it, release the lock knob on the back of the Intelligent Key and slide the Mechanical Key out. Then insert the Mechanical Key into the key cylinder on the driver's door to lock or unlock the vehicle.
When you leave a key with a valet, your Intelligent Key can help you keep your belongings safe in your vehicle. Use the Mechanical Key to lock the glove box. You can then give the Intelligent Key to the valet and take the Mechanical Key with you.
As many as four keys can be used with one vehicle, provided the Intelligent Keys are registered with the INFINITI retailer prior to use with the Intelligent Key system and INFINITI Vehicle Immobilizer System of your vehicle.
The Intelligent Key contains sensitive electrical components. Please avoid these circumstances that could affect its operation.
• Avoid dropping or striking it against another object.
• Keep it away from water
• Keep it away from equipment with magnetic fields, including computers, cell phones, TVs, and audio accessories.
• Avoid using a key chain that contains a magnet.

Hi , I have a 2012 Infiniti M37S , I had the 4WAS light on along with the Traction control, I did replace the back steering motor and the whole assembly.
The light went away for 2 days when I start the car only .it will come on when I drive for a little bit like maybe 5 minutes . And the light came back on now permanently. Is there anyway you can assist me please ? I went to a multiple mechanics and I still couldn’t get the problem fix ! I’m located in Oregon, USA .

I think if you press the unlock twice and hold down the unlock on the second press it will roll down the front windows without starting the vehicle
