57:21 there’s actually a crucial difference between fairy godmothers and King Magnifico and it’s how they treat the magic. We see Magnifico treating magic like it’s the ultimate solution hence he’s studied it and when something seems more powerful he feels threatened and wants more more more (kinda like our real life corporate/billionaire villains) and thus the magic becomes a crutch or a drug and that’s what defeats him. For fairy godmothers the magic is there to HELP you not do the work for you. Fairy godmother herself comes only when Cinderella is at her lowest point and gives her the hope and confidence to pick up the pieces with the ride and dress to have a night of fun at the ball which gives her the hope and confidence to take her chance at a great escape from her stepfamily, which also gives a poetic justice to her stepfamily for their abuse of power so there’s a balance. Furthermore fairy godmothers aren’t queens or anything but operate on human level as a humble guide and friend rather than playing god Furthermore Magnifico judged the wishes based on benefit towards HIS kingdom and ultimately utility. Fairy godmothers help with your dreams based on your inner character, as Asha thought in the beginning "to the good and worthy," or when the Blue Fairy says how Geppetto has always worked to bring happiness to others and gives Pinocchio life but not the human body just yet.

Representation is not like pie where you'll get less if someone else gets a slice
@oncerand_directioner okay, so you did not read a single thing I said. It's not just them putting people in movies, it's actively promoting it by showing it in a positive light, and never a negative light. They don't just show it, they talk about it. And that is political. Whether you agree or not, doesn't matter. It's objectively political to promote these ideas. And regardless of anything, disney has every right to do it, and people have every right to NOT consume it. You can cry all day and Night about it, but the when disney puts these things in the product, the product fails, and we have dozens of examples to prove it.
No matter how hard I try, I can't like this movie. The story feels empty. 😭💔
I find there are a few important points made about the importance of developing and nurturing our dreams. And how not to.
@elinswan8174 sad to hear that 😔 - Maria
Very meh for a Disney princess movie
