      @@samandmariachannel I think it is funny that you didn't realized that asha is THE FAIRY GODMOTHER from cinderella and magnifico is the mirror on the wall in snow white or the 7 friends represents the 7 dwarfs this is the origin to all of the Disney movies if you don't believe me with the comparisons look them up and you will see the hints that were left behind including that the queen might be a younger version of the evil queen in snow white before she turned evil (my theory is that she got older and remarried but still loved her ex-husband who is in the mirror and got jealous of her 12 year old step daughter snow white especially when the man in the mirror said that she was more fair than her so she turned to the dark book like magnifico and became the first evil character of Disney in fact just compare their pictures back to back they are very similar)

    57:21 there’s actually a crucial difference between fairy godmothers and King Magnifico and it’s how they treat the magic. We see Magnifico treating magic like it’s the ultimate solution hence he’s studied it and when something seems more powerful he feels threatened and wants more more more (kinda like our real life corporate/billionaire villains) and thus the magic becomes a crutch or a drug and that’s what defeats him.
    For fairy godmothers the magic is there to HELP you not do the work for you. Fairy godmother herself comes only when Cinderella is at her lowest point and gives her the hope and confidence to pick up the pieces with the ride and dress to have a night of fun at the ball which gives her the hope and confidence to take her chance at a great escape from her stepfamily, which also gives a poetic justice to her stepfamily for their abuse of power so there’s a balance. Furthermore fairy godmothers aren’t queens or anything but operate on human level as a humble guide and friend rather than playing god
    Furthermore Magnifico judged the wishes based on benefit towards HIS kingdom and ultimately utility. Fairy godmothers help with your dreams based on your inner character, as Asha thought in the beginning "to the good and worthy," or when the Blue Fairy says how Geppetto has always worked to bring happiness to others and gives Pinocchio life but not the human body just yet.

    Finished watching and I really like this film. Though not dull, I don't feel the characters are as charismatic as those in most other Disney films, but I found the actual story very enjoyable. I feel my mental health is one of the reasons, but the loss of dreams and how that affects people is an intriguing plot to me. I admit this is not my favorite Disney film, but I truly don't understand the number of people rating 'Star' so poorly. I wonder if the vibe of songs played a part in it. I liked the songs, but none of them were a blow you out of the water performance that many Disney films have.
    This was already on my list to eventually watch, but I think I will be watching the full film soon with one of my niblings.

    As far as Asha going for her family’s wishes first there is a logic to that
    A) the wishes are the size of like grapefruits so how many can you expect her to carry alone without damaging them?
    B) even if she did get as many as possible Magnifico and others could prob notice
    C) grab a bunch of random wishes to give to the people they belong to? Yea that conversation is gonna go well. “Hey random neighbors at whose houses I am suddenly dropping in unannounced at! I snuck into the king’s study and got your wishes back to you so you can pursue/figure it out yourself even though I don’t know if you’ll consent to it or become crime accessories.” If you’re getting people’s wishes back for them to figure out at least start with people you know and are closest to

      @@LiMe251 Exactly and she does show she knows that in the beginning when suggesting giving the wishes back to the people instead of holding them under roof and erasing memories of them so they're not automatically granted but people can do something about it with "if they're dangerous then they can be stopped" so either the person or people around them can help reevaluate or take responsibility if the wish is dangerous or has consequences or consider less harmful methods in some way or another, but those who don't take responsibility for their wish's consequences or make bad wishes are people who should be stopped but not with using magic or controlling their memories or thoughts as a shortcut.

      @@sunnymartinez331 Except "welcome to rosas" is basically a kingdom advertisement selling that their custom is to give a wish away at 18 and that it's good for them which at first Asha and everyone else is sold on until later. Furthermore, people saying you get to do something can be a form of persuasion or coercion, like they're bargaining or bribing you.
      Later the two new citizens Helena and Esteban are said to be "ready to give their wishes" so they're new and have been thinking it over with a ceremony coming up but then what's the alternative, with "you're gonna be very happy here I promise you" as the persuasion. Once without the wish their faces are basically numb, confused and hesitant while someone shouts forget without regret.
      And notice to the public, Magnifico says it's the people's wishes, but alone or at least with his wife he calls them HIS wishes not the people's so there is an ulterior bit of hoarding there.

    Theres a reason that this movie failed on every level. Instead of paying homage to 100 years of disney, they made a movie representing what the company is today. A soulless company producing entertainment by corporate committee who is more concerned about a political message than their own profits, let alone caring about the fans.

    • @oncerand_directioner
      @oncerand_directioner 7 месяцев назад +1

      Genuine question, what is the "political" message in this movie specifically? Also what "political" messages have been in Disney's recent films? And I mean actual political messages, NOT just LGBTQ+ characters or couples existing and having families because showing different types of families that exist in the real world is NOT political

    • @__thebadger
      @__thebadger 7 месяцев назад +1

      @oncerand_directioner that is actual political messaging. You don't see it because that is your worldview. For someone who views Mohammad as the final prophet and Allah as the God above all, seeing a movie with a character praising the prophet Mohammad would not be seen as political, it would simply be a correct portrayal of the world in that persons mind. Can you understand that?
      You may see lgbtq representation as simply what the world is and should be. Other people do not see it that way. And when it is something that goes completely against tradition, whether right or wrong, that is political. Can you see that? Just because it's your world view does not mean it's not political.

    • @__thebadger
      @__thebadger 7 месяцев назад

      @oncerand_directioner and it's easily provable that it is political messaging. All of the examples of lgbtq representation are straight up REMOVED from the tv/movies upon release to Chinese, east Asian, and middle eastern countries who do not like that. @@__thebadger
      No. Just because a group of REAL people is unusual to YOU or doesn't fit YOUR worldview does not mean it's "political" because these are human beings, not concepts or ideas. These people's lives and experiences deserve to be represented in the media just as much as yours and mine because just like us, they also love entertainment and are Disney consumers/fans as well and deserve to have their own stories told on screen as well. Them being in movies does NOT take away anything from straight people or religious people-especially when they already have MANY Disney movies already that perfectly represents them. Representation is not like pie where you'll get less if someone else gets a slice

    • @__thebadger
      @__thebadger 7 месяцев назад +1

      @oncerand_directioner okay, so you did not read a single thing I said. It's not just them putting people in movies, it's actively promoting it by showing it in a positive light, and never a negative light. They don't just show it, they talk about it. And that is political. Whether you agree or not, doesn't matter. It's objectively political to promote these ideas. And regardless of anything, disney has every right to do it, and people have every right to NOT consume it. You can cry all day and Night about it, but the when disney puts these things in the product, the product fails, and we have dozens of examples to prove it.
