An artist friend of mine who recently passed away advised me about painting 5x7's on a regular basis. Thanks for reminding me about that. I recently bought a package of canvas boards that size to get me started again.
Very good lesson ! Thank you all ! I am copying a seascape painting of Frederic E Church and promise to finish it by Christmas. This is Jennifer from Long Island NY. Thanks again.
I just couldn't get enough of hanging out with you guys. Patrick your smile just radiates inner beauty. And Eric as always, you are just so kind and inspirational. Thanks!
I met Patrick in Sedona recently at the airport vista. He is a talented artist and I like his work. Great body of work given that he is a young artist……from one NJ born artist to another NJ artist.
Hi Eric, I did four Children's picture books on the old Master artists, every picture in the books I painted by hand. It was to introduce children to the old Masters in such a way they journeyed with the artist thru each painting in the book. My first book was on Vincent Van Gogh, the second on Renoir, And the third was on Monet. Then I created an Alphabet Book on old masters for the same reason. In each book I invented the artist as a bear. Vincent Van Bear, Auguste Bear, & Claude Bear. In the alphabet book there are many amazing paintings with bears in them. If you would like to see them I could shere to you. They were printed in Spanish, french and Korean as well as English.
This was an inspiring video. I definitely want to do a landscape master study. I have done portraits and stilllife. Years ago a curator advised me to move away from copying masters and do my own originals. While that advice served me well sounds like I should do both, master studies and originals. Thank you. Hope to hear more from you both.
Andy Evansen is the man 👌 I haven’t done enough watercolours yet but it’s really useful quick way to record your first impressions Eric, when there’s less time.
I read the book patrick's referring to: ART AND FEAR?!!! Apottery class and grading on quantity or quality...the QUANTITY group advanced much faster than the quality group.!
This is a good one! Have him back, please.
This young man is incredible!
I'm Usha Divakaran in Hyderabad, India. There has been so much to learn from your videos. Thank you.
Thank you Eric and Patrick for your wealth of information.
