Definitely interested in videogame composition licensing and film licensing. I tend to find my music has a flash game and mobile game syncing niche-but getting into the world I'm sure is very similar to this! I’ve heard they do more all out buy outs, so may be different residuals if you have a really good track, may not want to aim it there unless the deal is good, or you created it for such.

This is such great info! I have read that it is good to also send an instrumental of your track. Would you happen to know if you have your original song registered with a PRO, do you also need to register the instrumental version, or would that fall under the original track? Thank you in advance!
Had the same question, found this on the BMI website: "BMI cannot undertake to distinguish between lyric and instrumental performances of a work unless the two versions bear different titles". Hope that helps

How early on should you submit your song to TV Shows and Movies? Should you be doing it when your songs released? or way before?

How does the royalty system work? Is it possible to earn royalties for sync and licensing deals from tv/commercials/movies etc yet maintain royalty free on RUclips? It’s a path we’re considering taking I just don’t want any existing videos to be copyrighted!
Yup they're not linked at all.
Royalties across RUclips are linked to Content ID which you can opt out of with your distributor

What are the names of a good licensing agency?
I talked to a few supervisors and they all go through something called "Libraries". They've told me that they had issues overs copyrights and samples so they usually only trust those because of issues they have already faced. Would you guys know about how about these libraries and how to get into them?
If I've understood correctly, these libraries are the catalogues the companies own.
For example, ITV will have one and then so will Channel 4 (UK TV Channels if you're not from the UK) and they categories these by genre, mood, tempo etc.
These catalogues are made from music from labels, artist they work closely with, management companies, all trusted sources and then music they've previously featured in show before. This means they have signed deals and can quickly use the songs without issues
@@Burstimo They are 3rd party "Music Sync Libraries" who have all the music cleared and all metadata ready to go for music supervisors to choose from. They stressed how important metadata is. Some supervisors are open to emails and send out email blasts but the majority said they don't want any legal issues so they only use libraries. I just don't know how to find and get into these libraries yet, maybe you guys could enlighten me! Thank you!
