    That was Drac who played all the guitar solos for Slave back in the day. Mark Adams played bass

    First album I ever bought.I was 12 when this dropped.The solo by Mark Hicks blew my mind and the bass line by Mark Adams changed me forever.I'm still a fan 45 years later.

    I loved this song! That bass and beat that funk! I was at the club and as soon as the beat was played I had to ask the DJ who was THIS! They do NOT make songs like this and it makes me dislike rap. That guitar solo!! In those days you had black musicians and brass sections. Too many black kids see rap as the way to get famous, they can't put in the time and effort. I hope their are black kids who can bring back this type of music!

    Marc "DRAC" Hicks born may 28 1959. Was the lead guitarist for SLAVE. He was 16 when he co-wrote Slide. Mark Adams is THE BASSIST for the fab. funk group.

      I had heard the guitar solo was played by a 16 year old many years ago...DRAC is amazing! I also, love Mark Adams' bass style!

      Mark L. ADAMS was born July 2 1959 - March 2011 Mark Drac Hicks May 28 1959. - June of 2011 Drac is the lead guitar solo and Mark ADAMS is the bass solo. AKA THE HANSOLOR

      Not only were we gettin' down in the roller skating ranks back then, but we were dancing our behinds
      off on the dance floors as well. Love, Love me some old school music!!!

    Mark "Hansolar" Adams was the bassist and Mark "Drac" Hicks was the lead guitarist for Slave when Slide was released in 1977!

    THE SONG SLIDE WAS A JAZZ SONG AT FIRST.....IT WAS THE LAST SONG MADE FOR THE DEBUT LP...........IN FACT IT WAS SO LONG THEY SPLIT THE SONG UP INTO SLIDE AND SON OF SLIDE.....BECAUSE THEY HAD TO PUT THE LP OUT..........MARK ADAMS----MARK HICKS AND DANN WEBSTER ARE MY COUSINS IN MY FAMILY TREE AND WE ALL STAYED I A 4 MILE RADIUS CALLED WESTWOOD.......MORE TO COME---MR. VINEGAR OUT OF DAYTON OHIO

    Keep in mind this is the seventies when black groups were not rocking the guitar solos like rock groups were in the day.
