Loving Zachary Burlett's comical reactions. He even knows how ridiculous it sounds. I'm sure the lawyer wishes he was somewhere or someone else at that moment. 😂😂😂
No, He was going to cut it off but then changed his mind as soon as he made the first cut but it was too late. 🎶 The first cut is the deeeeepest oooh yeeeah🎶
I’ve carried a pistol on my ankle so I can imagine a tether. Some paints are tighter around ankle area depending on the style and cut so I could see what he was trying to say. “I was trying to split my jean’s enough to get them on.” How you are dumb enough that you can’t articulate it is hilarious 😂
Judge: Why can't you just answer my questions. Defendant (if they told the truth): Because your honor, I live by lying, cheating, scamming and committing other criminal acts. Due to my chosen lifestyle, I try very hard not to be honest.
Y'all, there's 2 types of professionals you don't wanna skip on paying: the first is your doctor, cuz the minute you do, you end up needing them the most (I work in healthcare and see it all the time). The second is your lawyer, ESPECIALLY in a capital case that could send you down for life or worse. Pay. Your. ATTORNEY.
My surgeon father once said that there were two clues that you were not getting paid, he was in private practice in the 1950s, one was if they called him "Doc" and if they said "money is no object". Money is no object when they have no intention of paying the bill.
The lady who won't pay her lawyer ... It's painful listening to her twist and turn her speech as to why. Why is she so confused 🤔? If she's poor, the state will give her an attorney. She just wants free service. I imagine she non-pays all her bills this way!
She’s the kind of person who orders Uber eats. Eats it and then says it never arrived. She will eat everything at a restaurant except a tiny bit of meat on the bone and then refuses to pay because she didn’t like it. She is one of those who wants everything for nothing but not only that, she wants the best of it to suit her boujie lifestyle. She also doesn’t care who has to cover those costs. That’s a them problem.
what i took away from it is..... she thought by giving him some money that he'd have to come to all the court cases and after it's resolved he can just bill her and i doubt she would or had any intention of paying the full amount. i would guess someone told her that if she gives an attorney any money that they are obligated to come to all court dates and then they'd just sue you for the rest or something to that effect.
That last lady is delusional. You hired him so PAY HIM! In what world do you think you can hire an attorney, pay a third of his retainer, and expect the judge to force him to continue representing you?!
In case number 3 there was definitely a reason why the defendant looked online to find out what the maximum amount of time is that fentanyl can stay in your system .
I get the feeling this girl thought she would hire a lawyer and then get out of the contract to pay him. I believe she knew she wasn't going to follow through with payment. She just maybe didn't want a "court appointed" lawyer.
Re the last case where woman hasn’t paid up her attorney. WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - One person was arrested after police said she shot and injured a woman in a Washtenaw County grocery store parking lot. Kenyasia Daijanique Johnson-Jackson, 28, was arraigned on charges of assault with intent to murder and discharging a weapon from a vehicle causing injury on Sunday, March 31 before 14A-1 Magistrate Elisha Fink. Johnson-Jackson is accused of shooting a 46-year-old Ann Arbor woman after a dispute. They didn’t know one another.
@@emorykat It means she’s delusional, lives in a t.v. fantasyland, and is a POS. Actually, I’m not sure that’s an accurate interpretation, but she sure fits that description … so there’s that.
Per the last case…my first career was a litigation secretary/paralegal and the lawyers I worked for had a lawyer/client agreement with all expected estimated costs including the lawyer’s hourly rate and the paralegal’s hourly rate, and the amount of any retainer fees. For example, for a civil case the cost for representation might be $15,000 with the potential to go lower or higher. Those retainer fees are immediately paid to the lawyer to start the case…drafting answers to the complaint and motions, filing fees the court charges, etc. Once the retainer is exhausted it automatically goes into the hourly rate. Capital cases are lengthy and costly and often lawyers can agree to an arrangement where the client agrees to making monthly payments. He’s not a public defender and since she wants free legal counsel that’s the route she needs to take because she’s trying to shaft her lawyer. I don’t blame him for wanting to drop her.
At about 3:30 the guy in the bottom right realizes he can't watch this without laughing, and tries to hold it while he knocks his camera over. Then he gives up and just laughs on camera.
I have this recurring nightmare. I'm just on the verge of sleep, and I hear this massive voice ring out, "Mr. Allen!" Next thing I know, I'm standing beside the bed with my hands behind my back.
So that last case, was her plan to hire a lawyer, knowing full well she isn't going to pay him, and just expect him to do the job??? There are some really awful people in the world. You think you can work the system and get away with whatever you want? I hope he keeps coming for the rest of the money he earned.
And she STILL owes for the retainer, little do she know. It was a legal agreement, that the court will make her pay and/or it will be up for collections and eventually reported on her credit report.
😮 That last girl is about as clueless as they come. Whoever ends up being her lawyer needs to sit down with her and explain basic court procedures. She's about as lost as they come.
I don't know who has the better reaction to "I accidentally cut my tether", Judge Simpson or Zachary Burlett. Mr Burlett had a hard time really holding it together. At one point he had to turn his chair around so no one could see him cracking up, lol.
Yeah, he'd either slice his leg or stab it trying to get it through the pants first since he was using a knife and not scissors. Does that guy even know how scissors work??
I love how the judge and his officers have a que to listen for and as soon as they hear it they stand behind the defendants because they know they’re going in cuffs 😂
Wow, I had no idea It worked like that, that a defendant can stiff their lawyer and still receive a public defendant. I thought she would have to go back out and search for one.
Well you’re entitled to a lawyer if you can’t afford one so that’s exactly how it works. Sucks for the lawyer she tried to retain but she’s the definition of indigent at that point. If she couldn’t afford that one it’s not going to do anyone any good to go back out there and search for another so public defender it is.
