They're going to hit this deck somehow in an emergency banlist. Calling it now. There are shops in the OCG that are outright forbidding the play of this deck in their tournaments. I expect a similar level of vitriol from the TCG playerbase. If that's not enough, Konami was clearly trying to ensure that they have a diverse format heading into WCQ season based on this last list being minimal in its hits. Mystic Mine burn throws a wrench into that notion
Well, actually fun and interactive burn & deckout decks are going to enrich that meta, you know, the actual skillful decks that take a virtuoso to throughly master the intricate art of flipping carboard. I am happy that yugioh finally supports true skill of burn and not degenerate strategies that summons monsters to attack.
@@vehicledestroyer you can still play against this deck, just deck-build smarter, instead of netdecking and once a deck like this comes along cry for banlist...
@@kristiannikolic6284 "You can still play against this deck, just deck-build smarter" You say that like every card that currently is banned in this game doesn't have some way to be countered. Sounds like you're aiming your frustrations at meta players for some reason, as if they're the only ones who think this deck is cancer.
@@zachchristian22 how am i aiming anything at meta players? man the field spell is one of the most degenerate field spells I've ever seen. While not as degenerate as Chicken Game is, this is close to up there as one of the most broken. Only good thing about it is that it does help out going 2nd OTK decks that don't use other stall/burn cards, and at least it can be outed, but man, I'm not looking forward to it :( it needs to be gone asap.
How is chicken game more degenerate, this card is allready gotten rid of in half the ocg, and wait a few more, and the card will be gone forever, chicken game stayed a while
@@DyPie527 chicken game was responsible for a FTK with upstart, the traps that cause burn damage depending on the number of spells in GY. The only reason it didn't take off was because nobody discovered it at the time. it was only till the monarch structure deck came out that it started to see play. Also, chicken prevents you from taking any damage if your LP is lower, you get a free +1 off the draw, not OPT, can be copied off pseudo space, and easily searchable. It does have downsides like Mining Cave, but lead to many degenerate FTKs.
Nuh-uh. The knew this could happen. Don't you checked that this banlist just has a 2 month window instead of the regular 3 months? Said that, this would hit immediately after those 2 months
"Not hyping this deck" Any press is good press. There are so many spells and trap removal cards nowadays that people will just main twin twisters and have 5-6 cards in the side deck that can help deal with the field spell. I don't even mind burn decks anymore. There's been much more degenerate decks than burn in the last 2 years
im maindecking 3 olenoides 3 heavy storm duster and side decking 3 twin twister 3 mst so games 2 and 3 my deck will be over 1/4 backrow removal bring it on.
Also now that I think of it with a combo of 3 mythical beast master Cerberus and 3 mythical beast Garuda the deck also can have effectively up to 6 spell&trap outs.
I just watch a match between endymion and this burn deck, even it destroyed the mashoudou on the first place the card just keeps coming back coz its easy to search and the draw power is just overwhelming. the endymion just stood there and takes all the damage.... this deck is broken AF!
I remember I made a deck of spell mining cave, exodia, destiny board, final countdown, jackpot 7, and a bunch of consistentcy cards. It currently has a 100% winrate.
@@ohellyea23 I played (still playing) magic the gathering, we just came from a format where every deck that topped, topped because of player skill and techs - no one or two decks dominated the format. Coming back to Yugioh for Nationals (mostly to help them make up numbers, we are a small community in my country) and seeing the first turn unbreakable boards, and 2-3 turn wins, is incredibly jarring. Seeing a burn deck like this, that basically stops people from playing... that hurts.
@@DyPie527 inspector boarder can work as back up but yeah that card is a sign of great game design(quick note I think this card was meant for decks where a monster leaves the field then comes back stuff like omega)
I think it's called "Spell Mining Cave" in english. I guess mst/twin twisters will be side deck staples. Field barrier would prevent new field spells from being played as well
I dunno, I think it will be good in the meta if no one sees it coming but if you face anyone with a Dark Magician deck you're gonna have a bad time, Eternal Soul protects DM from any effects and DMC banishes any card they choose. You don't really have any removal yourself with this deck and yeah, you can bring Mashoudou back but all your opponent has to do is keep bringing out DM or any other cards that treat themselves as DM like DM The Dragon Knight, MODI, MOC, etc. Not to mention DM Attack or Dark Burning Magic. Edit: Let's not forget Secret Village Of The Spellcasters, which only allows those who control Spellcaster Monsters to use Spell cards.
@@q345ify What, Secret Village? No, but if you can either get it on the field before they get Mashoudou or pop the one that's already on the field they can't activate it.
@@BmanTheChamp yeah but getting it off the field is the main issue right? this isn't a going second deck so village is an option for game2 and three but you have to hope they can't protect it and get iton field first (also I'm not sure of the ruling on this but doesn't metaverse get around secret village?)
@@q345ify Yeah, but that's why you run things like Eternal Soul, Dark Magic Attack, and Dark Magical Circle. My main point was against a Dark Magician deck as a whole, this burn deck with the field spell isn't that great. I just added Secret Village as an extra option for that deck.
What is this BS? DM is Not very commonly played! This example is fucking BS! Just because DM can totally rec Mashoudou doesn't mean This isn't cancer! This is the highest form of Solitaire! You kill almost all Decks with this BS NOT just the meta AS mentioned in this comment!
First thing that came to mind was let's ban it. It's obviously not that healthy for the game. Then I started thinking well what if Konami doesn't want to hit it, what can we do? Well there's the biggest way, backrow removal by means of spells and traps. However what if something that's already on the list came off to set this deck in its place. First you have to consider that basically in order to win with this deck you have to get the field spell, if you don't you lose. If you lock out the field spell zone from your opponent, it's a very easy win. They might burn you for some damage here and there, but without the field spell and how fast this meta plays they'll burn their resources fairly quickly and that'll be it. What kind of cards would do this? There are things like Set Rotation, there's Mid-Breaker Field. Then there's already things to take care of it such as Field Barrier, Burning Land, and just basic cards like Twin Twisters or even MST. While it's nuts and kinda stupid, it can be easily dealt with.
if you are playing a deck that uses field spells you can run on your side deck Set Rotation and Oracle of zefra to give them the second. As they must first activate Oracle of zefra an this requires to search a zefra card they're completely blocked. Yeah I know Set Rotation its a limited card but at least is something
Chicken Game was a draw engine that ANY deck can use, able to be used by ANY deck and generating a fuckload of FTKs. This slows the game down as the FIeld Spell Floodgate, only being able to be used by slow decks that use VERY few monsters. This is the COMPLETE opposite of Chicken Game
Chicken game format was fun actually, except for Magical Explosion FTK and that Exodia FTK that used hope for escape feck those were toxic to play against but aside from that it was pretty fun having each player draw an extra card for turn and then blowing it up the following turn.
There is also this cont spell card called Field Barrier, this prevents the distruction of the field spell as well..so now it is not even destroyed by its own effect... Played against this variant, and boii it is frustrating
1 michion to speed up the burn process in main deck. Side deck Time maiden engine to clear backrow with water time lord, the other time lord that reshuffles opponents field to get rid of denko sekka/jinzo/royal decree/imperial order/etc Another strategy is to side in gren maju banish smoke screen. I love this deck because it will change the meta.
Just play dm deck with secret village of the spellcasters. Plus with dm circle when dm is summoned you can banish 1 card your opponent controls. Dm doesnt have effects, so no worries there. Just wont be able to attack, but thats why you play secret village of the spellcaster and dm circle to pop the field spell. Once the field spell is gone, the deck crumbles.
The current meta decks might not be running Spell and Trap removal now, but if Mashoudou Burn becomes meta, they'll just have to adapt. It's not like there's any shortage of generic Spell/Trap removal. We have Twin Twisters, Cosmic Cyclone, Mystical Space Typhoon, Unending Nightmare, all at 3.
@@Scapegoat-po2ou We literally had a yugioh format where players rock paper scissored, drew hands showed they have combo and if the other guy said no negates they just shook hands and ended. I can only imagine covering such a novel deck as Chain Burn that's finally seeing the light thanks to a searchable Skill Drain + Summon Limit is a more comfortable topic than just stale meta commentary after stale meta commentary after stale meta commentary. But I do agree.
@@CoordinatorKYamato Have you actually played vs Mystic Mine burn? FTK games are way quicker when it's piloted by people that actually know what they are doing, burn is always excruciating.
I feel like one big problem with this deck existing is if sekka danger thunder exists at the same time. These decks both have sort of instant wins if you dont draw the outs to them, meaning you want to play 9-12 outs, but then the outs that work for one are literally dead cards vs the other. Guess ash at 3 is the only overlap.
So i did play against this deck and was confused as hell at first. i played with pure trickstar and won regardless. even being caught off guard and having only 3 heavy storm duster in my deck.
i thought that it would be common in the meta that you have some kind of backrow removal in form of spell/trap cards. i mean heavy storm duster is slow and unsearchable and it took me many rounds to draw one. So this Mystic Mine Deck strategy kills your opponent too slow. just side deck twin twisters and win the game. Btw against dark magician decks this deck can't win if it goes second. ;)@
@@LittleVboh @Divine_Wrath well, I would love to agree with you, but the thing is, this doesn't lose to MST/Twister as hard as you might think. Deck playing this card will search this with terra, metaverse, set rotation, lilith (search metaverse) and demise of land (chain to twin/mst so foe won't even get his turn)...if you add the fact that decks which do nothing other than burn/deckout can also use restricting draw cards like balance of judgement, extravagance, demise, upstart and desires, you will most likely start off with this card. You have only 3 in 40 chance of drawing twisters if you played them, if you play more backrow removal, you will hurt your siding for other meta match ups AND none of the backrow hate is searchable (lets say you play duster so 6 in 40)...you will most likely draw 1/2 backrow hate in a duel and trust me, I played mining cave burn, one/two backrow destruction won't cut it, though it hard loses against true draco and noone plays dark magi anyway.
You know what's great about Prophecy decks? They absolutely decimate burn decks, especially ones that lack the hand traps like this specific build. I know it isn't a meta deck but Spellkarst Cave (Moushoudou) burn is a whacky trolly burn deck. You just tech in 3 three relay souls in the deck to summon those High Priestesses and use all the Spellbook of Wisdoms to immunize the High Priestesses from Ring of Destruction and Spellkarst Cave. Also Relay Soul protects you from burn damage as long as you keep your monster on board. Protect the Priestess and she'll guarantee victory.
I’m a burn deck player and love this creation. I have these cards. Oh yeah I’m totally going to my Locals this weekend. I’ll finally have chance to beat that kid that always plays the main meta.
I actually appreciate this card. It promotes slower formats by itself. The popular burn cards however should get a few hits, as just like summon sorceress, its only used in degenerate strategies. I play Mystic Mine in lair infernoids, and it allows me to not lose turn 1 to an ash blossom or a brick hand. LETS BRING BACK YUGIOH 2010 AND START MAINING 10 TRAPS AGAIN!
Talk about late to the party. Yu-Gi-Oh Tube has been abusing this card for ages. Also, Rising Rampage has another new protection card the Curtain spell with Vampire Fraulein on it. I don't expect this card to stay legal long.
I would say anti spell fragrance and cursed seal of the forbidden spell would work against Mashono, but that requires you going first. Or royal decree to stop the prevention traps from working or Jinzo, but that’s only half the problem.
The traps are literally the least of their problems. And most meta decks nowday's can't afford to play imperial order. Sky strikers are heavily spell based, thunder dragons' board ends with at least 5 monters on the field. Salamangreats are half spell based as well.
yeeaaa i was in a tag duel and two guys double decked and used this but with exodia. needless to say it was annoying. only pulled through cause my partner had a black garden so they would end up with tokens.
One of three things is gonna happen real quick: 1) Burn decks will become Tier 0 2) This Field Spell will get E-banned 3) S/T removal via MST, Twinster, Cosmic Cyclone, etc. will be run much more heavily than before. Feel free to suggest other possibilities.
Or just play spell removal that is not in a form of a creature. If your deck is linear that it lose to a single card then there is a problem with your deck and not the card.

I was playtesting some Lair of Darkness stuff when I faced this kind of deck twice... I used traps that tribute stuff to generate tokens on my opponents field, and make his own field spell pop itself because we had the same number of monsters :D
@@shaynehughes6645 Nothing special, just wanted to try out a basic Lair of Darkness control deck with double Super Poly, because making Starving Venom out of WHATEVER 2 monsters is kinda neat (Lair makes all monsters dark btw)
By the way, this is completely the fault of powercreep. The game becoming as ridiculous as it has has facilitated the creation of a card like Mashoudou, so that slow strategies like Burn can even contend again, because they haven't been able to in a very long time.
One of yugioh biggest problems is the lack of diversity in cards. Something that games like magic don't worry about. The idea of locking someone out of a third of their potential options in card choice to a single card is silly. However another huge problem are omni-negates. Seriously, remember when magic jammer used to cost a discard, and the card itself being set up in advance? Now days people set up 3+ omni negate boards and try to argue they had a "cost". Yeah cost with 7 cards on field 3 omni negates and 2 left in hand....you SURE PAID for those powerful effects.
I think the key to beating this deck could be the final line of text in mystic mine itself. If you control the same number of monsters as your opponent, it is destroyed.
burn decks are annoying but this is on a whole new level... but I think I have an idea for a counter, you see the whole idea of this deck is to basically say no to your opponents monster effects if they have more monsters then you, so you play the same game to your opponent by using some of the same cards your opponent is using, i would suggest side decking ojama trio and duo as counters because as long as you and your opponent have the same amount of monsters this card fizzles out, basically making the field spell a brick, during this time i would suggest not summoning anything to the extra monster zone because otherwise your opponent at that point could have less monsters then you have, then you just half to find ways to play the long game from there or maybe you can play rose garden so that you can continuously special summon rose tokens to your opponents side of the field while they keep giving you ojama tokens to link off of, or you can go for a lot of spell and trap removal because i noticed there are no ways to get the field spell out of the grave, these aren't really perfect solutions but its something, right?
@@RinaShinomiyaVal I dont think so, at least they gonna keep it up for 2 months, cause the set isnt yet released and it would be uncommon, even for Konami, to hit a card they just released (TCG). In general its just unfair for those who already ordered the product Konami is selling and cant use its full potential. But maybe its gone in the next ban.
I went against this the other day, wayyy too infuriating and unfair. You can attempt to destroy the spell but they can easily replace it or protect it with that fiend trap. It should be emergency banned, at one it'll still be an issue with 5-6 cards that'll search it and multiple ways to draw into it or get it to your hand (extravagance, Pot of Duality, card of demise)
One of the most efficient ways to deal with this will likely be summoning Denko and wait for opponent to deck out. Outside of that there are a couple of strategies that can effectively make it harder for your opponent to be able to use this properly. Most of all by taking advantage of continuous monster effects which aren't covered by the field spell.
You can add set rotation to boost consistency of masoudo. I'm a huge fan of a deck that doesn't require you to enter battle phase a.k.a burn deck. I remember lava golem, stealth bird, messenger of peace was op back in the day. Then simochi stuff. Now this, thank you cimo :))
Yes and no, its complicated. I have another comment explaining the situation about the deck and why its so toxic, but thats just my opinions on the topic.
Yeah, Mashoudou is called Mystic Mine in the TCG. I wouldn’t be surprised if it made the banlist this year. I think it has “ban me” written all over itself.
Side note: Try playing harpies. Harpies hunting ground still hates your opponents spells and traps with a passion, their field swarming and damage potential are still decent, and they only have more access to extra deck options now.
So basically, instead of loading up on hand traps like we had to do during the firewall and gumblar ftk’s, we’ll have to stack our decks with an abundance of non-monster back row hate. I already run a bit of both in most of my decks but I’m betting that the amount needed to counter a deck like this would no doubt dilute a number of decks. After all, not all deck types have the extra space like the salamangreats do.
@@vgmaster02 it is not banned in the ocg, local game shops banned it, because even sky striker players main this card.... They activate it, summon Hayate and swing for 1500 each turn.

You say that like every card that currently is banned in this game doesn't have some way to be countered. Just because there's an out to certain cards/decks, doesn't mean those decks aren't degenerate and shouldn't be hit on the list. Also, what does netdecking have to do with anything? Sounds like you're aiming your frustrations at meta players for some reason, as if they're the only ones who think this deck is cancer.
@@zachchristian22 how am i aiming anything at meta players? I give all cred if anything to meta players (the once at top level of competitions) because they find ways around cards like this they are creative... i dont give a f, burn decks with this card in them are easy to beat as salamangreat and some other top decks, like said earlier side better cards but majority of peoole are to dependant on net decking which in turn leads them to type "ban this, ban that" when cards are released that dont fit their agenda, fuck, if vomiting out a full board with plenty negates is allowed then why shouldnt one easy to out card that stops that somewhat be available?
man the field spell is one of the most degenerate field spells I've ever seen. While not as degenerate as Chicken Game is, this is close to up there as one of the most broken. Only good thing about it is that it does help out going 2nd OTK decks that don't use other stall/burn cards, and at least it can be outed, but man, I'm not looking forward to it :(
it needs to be gone asap.
And yet chicken game is at 3 in the ocg as well

This assumes you'll topdeck your S/T removal 3 times before they burn you to death.

Well, let’s all hope that Konami breaks out that emergency ban list after this deck tops its first ycs
if you are playing a deck that uses field spells you can run on your side deck Set Rotation and Oracle of zefra to give them the second. As they must first activate Oracle of zefra an this requires to search a zefra card they're completely blocked. Yeah I know Set Rotation its a limited card but at least is something
The new Chicken Game...
Absolutely not.

@@GodzillaFreak That's it.
I wonder if you can drop in some timelords as well
That's my version since i can't afford all those draw power cards
1 michion to speed up the burn process in main deck. Side deck Time maiden engine to clear backrow with water time lord, the other time lord that reshuffles opponents field to get rid of denko sekka/jinzo/royal decree/imperial order/etc
Another strategy is to side in gren maju banish smoke screen.

I feel like one big problem with this deck existing is if sekka danger thunder exists at the same time.

Seriously, remember when magic jammer used to cost a discard, and the card itself being set up in advance? Now days people set up 3+ omni negate boards and try to argue they had a "cost". Yeah cost with 7 cards on field 3 omni negates and 2 left in hand....you SURE PAID for those powerful effects.

burn decks are annoying but this is on a whole new level... but I think I have an idea for a counter, you see the whole idea of this deck is to basically say no to your opponents monster effects if they have more monsters then you, so you play the same game to your opponent by using some of the same cards your opponent is using, i would suggest side decking ojama trio and duo as counters because as long as you and your opponent have the same amount of monsters this card fizzles out, basically making the field spell a brick, during this time i would suggest not summoning anything to the extra monster zone because otherwise your opponent at that point could have less monsters then you have, then you just half to find ways to play the long game from there or maybe you can play rose garden so that you can continuously special summon rose tokens to your opponents side of the field while they keep giving you ojama tokens to link off of, or you can go for a lot of spell and trap removal because i noticed there are no ways to get the field spell out of the grave, these aren't really perfect solutions but its something, right?
