      @@mr.wisdom2699 I personally think PLENTY of other gems and decorative materials are infinitely more beautiful than diamonds. Sapphires are gorgeous, or if you've got another favorite color there is a precious stone for that color usually. Diamonds are just clear and moisinite/cubic Z already mimic them almost perfectly. Hell, even crystals can look a bit like diamonds. Polished exotic petrified woods are also gorgeous, even more so if they have gems in them. That one black stone that has thousands of tiny facets that make it look like a galaxy. So many things that are way more beautiful than diamonds.

    6:50 The so-called Ivy-leagers didn't included the laws of economics. De Beers wouldn't be able to do a damned thing to control the price of diamonds anymore if the market was flooded with that much (diamonds are actually rather common and nearly worthless, only slightly more than the dirt they are dug out of). They would end up being worth about the same price as kitty litter, unless you wanted to hoard them and keep the artificial scarcity going for a nonillion years. People will be able to 3D print their own diamonds (and just about anything else made of atoms) long before that point.

      No, we are living on a paradise planet. Where pain and suffering is greatly lessened, compared to other worlds capable of sustaining life. At least that's what Harlan Ellison's short story, "Strange Wine" says. Which features a man who can't take any more earthly suffering, so commits suicide. Only to wake up on his own true home world, and told a trip to earth is reserved for the lucky, or deserving. So they may be free of so much hellish pain and suffering, at least for awhile. If only he would have been aware of it, or remembered. And now can only think back on his brief time on earth, the paradise planet, and how he wished he had known to enjoy it more, and stayed longer.

    It is very, very likely that Jupiter's core is made of highly compacted carbon: in other words it is a Diamond the size of Earth.!

    Ah..yes! Another weekly episode! I look forward to these every week. If anything would force me to keep up on the phone bill, it's this channel! I'm not alone in this thinking either. I have yet to see a bad review! Everybody digs this channel and what's cool is that, the people on the comments page actually have brains here! Do you know how many pages have the dumbest remarks in the history of RUclips? I like talking to ghost crowd because everybody's polite and have useful information to add to the experience. Hats off to my counterparts..and, of course, the channel too! A diamond planet?! That is bad-ass! Can you imagine that? How could you even build a house to live in there? What would you cut with Can't use a diamond saw..unless, there's another substance in nature we have yet to see. I can't remember which one but, I think it's a pulsar that weighs in at a teaspoon is heavier than a battleship! Or, was it the quasar? I think the quasar is the one with unlimited energy. I could be wrong though.

    350 million miles would be roughly the distance the Asteroid Belt is away from the Sun.

      @The Reverend Jim Jones I also would have thought that Mercury may have been a better comparison - being that he was explaining how close the other planet was to its star. Maybe he was trying to use the closest "ice giant" as the comparison, though I don't think they compare very well personally.

    What makes me think is our moon has a lot of craters in it but the back of the moon is said to be featureless so surely that would mean that all of the things that caused the craters in the moon have come from our direction? Suggesting that whatever caused the moon craters come from behind us not in front of us, if that makes sense to anyone?

    The coolest thing for me about space is how we can look up to the sky and we are looking at the past because of the light travel. Think about how many stars have already exploded and we haven't seen it yet.

    The Diamond planet can't really be worth that much though because if we were actually able to get there and bring back diamonds the value of diamonds would then fall to nothing. There are already too many of them. They have an applied value. They are not that rare anymore.

    • @James-nv4gy
      @James-nv4gy 5 лет назад +1

      I literally had the same question until I learned advanced physics and astronomy in college. We utilize astronomical methods from parallax to measure distance and highly developed technology such as the Hubble telescope that can capture depictions of areas so distant into space; however these images the further away they are, the further back in time they depict in respect to the validity of the space/time continuum.

    • @James-nv4gy
      @James-nv4gy 5 лет назад +1

      We use numerous other methods to measure and observe other factors as well, but I'll be typing all night and day and night tmrw to try and explain as much as I can lol. Just know, we are an extremely advanced human race supported with tremendous technology, and we still are most likely not the most advanced people in the universe ha
