My ds used to be my sisters and she took a lot of baby photos of me I need to save them
It lets you copy all of them from system memory to the SD card just through a button in the camera’s settings. Did that before factory resetting my system several years back, so glad I never lost those pictures
I love how a 60 second tutorial literally helped me re-mod my DSi than every other 10-20 minute video.

Fun fact related to this: I have actually contributed to the DSi CFW site twice in the past. I fixed a typo on the install unlaunch page and, through my own discovery and testing, added a warning mentioning not to take photos with the memory pit exploit added on the SD card. I’m currently going for 3 by helping with the adding of site locales because of this one pull request mentioning incorrect spelling differences about usable and useable. Let’s just hope they consider my idea!

I remember doing this a while back to my DSI, it was nice having it auto boot into the twilight menu so I could just get straight to the games that I had on there. Remember some NES and Gameboy working pretty well but not gba but maybe that’s improved?
Stay tuned for Parts 2 & 3, I'll be setting up Unlaunch and autoboot into CFW ✌️😁 I'll be sure to do some testing with GBA backups, though I don't have a method of backing up SNES cartridges at the moment. From my past tests, the emulation via TWiLight Menu has come a long way! Not quite the same performance I've seen with high-end flash carts, but still impressive nonetheless! 😎👍
I've had no issues launching gba games, and they run smooth
GBA should be better, it isn't emulation, but GBArunner is kinda undercooked
Weird, GBA with TWL++ was always flawless on my end, maybe worth checking if yours is up to date
Try a different emulator, some of them don’t work as well as others

Ik, dsi games are only around 30-100 megabytes so micro sd cards with an adapter are OP. I use a 16gb one and I have up to 50 dsi games on there and I haven’t even reached half of my sd card’s storage lol

@@araigumakiruno That's true. I updated with Jailbreak and now some games simply not working fine and crashes even before startup!! I'm also creating games and with previous firmware 11.16 were working like charm and now "ARM 11 expection" all the time. Seems that new firmware is using more RAM so I had to reduce my game memory allocation, instead of 16MB, now I have 14MB to run a 3D world, and I had to make it load async instead of load everything at once. Shitty firmware!!
I like using the Flipnote Lenny exploit, as my camera doesn’t work as well as the shoulder buttons but that’s what I get for a 5 dollar 2nd hand DSi
That's the method I used before MemoryPit, still an awesome method for damaged camera units! I bet you anything there's just some gunk under those shoulder buttons, if you haven't disassembled the system to clean it out I'd really recommend it! I better they'll work perfectly after 😁👍

I use unlaunch to boot twilight menu. So if I want to use twilight menu I have to hold X while booting the system. Easier than going into the album every time.

@@doitallYT I saw the autoboot one, I set it to boot straight to the twilight menu. I had a flash cart that wouldn't work, and I didn't know it was this easy to mod. It didn't enable the cart, but now I can launch my games straight from the menu, which is much better!
Never modded a console myself got a dsi for me and the ms. Just to find out the store is longer active watched tons of videos 12-20 min long didn’t have a clue still.This man literally sums it up in a yt short watched followed the steps and lemme say this MATE U ARE A LIFE SAVER THANK YOU 🙏
If you are modding other Nintendo consoles in the future, go for the written guides. For example, a lot of videos for the Wii U are outdated by now.
Searching "(insert console here) hack" tends to have the proper guide as the first result.
Please, PLEASE: if you're interested in modding your system, please google instructions and follow them CAREFULLY. Do not try to copy what someone is doing in a 60 second video

I did that method to mod my dsi xl. I killed it the first time I tried 😅 but one new motherboard later it works fine
this video's audio is more directional than expected (ex. 0:08 "put the sd card in your computer" probably sounds like it's slightly behind you if you have headphones on)

This is good because I am getting a Japanese dsi soon and I need to change the language
So i have a modded dsi running the twilight menu and all the games load and run great never had any issues… until yesterday. I put a ton of time into fire red and always save the game before shutting down. Always boots up fine and save files always there no problem. For some reason though when i booted the dsi yesterday the game was just gone, no save files nothing. Idk if somehow it got deleted or hidden, but i never mess with any of that stuff. Do you know if there’s any way to retrieve and restore the game and saves? Thank you 🙏 (sorry for the long explanation lol)

I don't have a dsi (yet) but people said you should never update your dsi, what does that mean ? and what would happen if you or like someone borrowing your dsi accidentally did it ?
Basically; back in the day, if you updated your DSi to the newest available firmware, it would break compatibility with flash carts like the R4 or whatever softmod you had on the system. So you would have to wait for the next mod or R4 update to be available for the firmware version you updated to, which could take months or longer. Thankfully, Nintendo hasn't released a system software update since December 2012, so it's best practice now to update your device to the latest firmware and use the softmod for that version. So if you were to let someone borrow your system, it would be pretty difficult for them to break it. Just make sure they don't mess with your SD card files, otherwise you might have to spend a few minutes setting it up again (not difficult, just inconvenient). Good luck on your hunt for a DSi, you'll have a blast if you track one down! 😁👍 Note; a 3DS is a great option as well, as it can run everything the DSi can and more ✌️😎

- Buy R4 Cartridge
- Buy a Micro SD card
- put stuff the micro SD with roms, emulators and archives, then put the SD in the cartridge and there you go
R4's are KING! I used my DS Lite as an MP3 player for YEARS with my R4 as a kid, best purchase ever!

Why not the 3DS? The DSI was just a placeholder system until the 3DS came out.

I had to use flipnote i tignk im not sure but i had to count with tally marks a button i press like 150 times and then eventually i got something that overwrites the nand i forget what its called but by default it had a b/w picture of a ship with a woman part of the design. Eventually changed it somehow to blue clouds and maube like a year after that i got twilight menu to go and ye i can play whatever games now

It sounds like the SD card wasn't set up right, be sure to check the formatting and make sure it's fat32 MBR, then try the steps again. Be sure to follow along with the written guide as well!

An old sd card is also a LAPTOP sd card

Just make sure to back up the photos folder when you have the SD card plugged into the computer, then you'll be set 😁👍 otherwise, go pick up a cheap SD card and use that and keep your original one safe

Why do you need SD Formatter when most operating systems have built in storage formatting?
EDIT: A reply to my comment enlightened me to the knowledge that Windows 10 cannot format to fat32. The video is correct, you do need external software unless you're running an older Windows (which you should not be). Thanks @Plasmawolf55!

Windows 10 and up don't have fat32 as a default option for formatting

You can use any computer that you have access to, all you have to do is move a few files around 😁👍

Did you use the tool that I showed in the video? If so and it doesn't work, try using Rufus, format as fat32 and MBR and it should work. Check out some of my other modding videos if you want to see the tool in action 😎👍

For everyone who wants to do this: do NOT follow a video “guide”
For real, I've seen multiple people in the comment section on this video alone who have managed to mess it up, I'm assuming because buddy who made the video made it extremely misleading and basically made them think the video was self-contained with the title but he only did half of the mod in the 60 seconds. I hate the shorts meta. Why would this need to be a 3-part shorts series? Did people forget that long-form video exists on the platform?

I also agree that you should just read the guide and do it yourself, but for those who insist on watching a video to do it, dudes like this introduce a million more vectors for error. Already did this ages ago using the guide, this video just popped up when I was scrolling and I immediately noticed how much of a shitshow his presentation was and then went to the comments and saw people having issues because of it. In theory a guide video could be done well and be just as effective as the text guide, but doing it through multiple shorts is not the way to go.
