Real happy for Byron's first road course win, but man I felt so bad for McDowell he was doing real good. Larson was doing good up until that penalty exiting the pits set him back
Missed the broadcast, looks like I didn't miss much.
To see McDriver be as dominant as he is right now is exciting. If he can be competitive during the playoffs, he might be the Alan Kulwicki of our generation! He has certainly put in his time and persevered. I remember hanging with him in Fontana as we shared a condo with Trevor Bayne after revor won the Daytona 500. Michael and I were driving around Fontana and went to a Kinkos to print hero cards at a Kinkos while he was driving for one of the lowest teams in the Xfinity series. He had the same humility and drive as he has now! His attitude has never wavered. He is a fighter. I hope when it's all said and done, fans will appreciate him for his work ethic, faith, and perseverance.

I was there live. Nice hot day for it. Ty Gibbs really impressed yesterday at the Xfinity race and had a strong outing today as well. Congrats to Byron. He ran a heckuva race.

I don't know what race you thought was today, but this is the Watkins Glen race from 2023. This wasn't a great race.
Agree, I loved the race, except when Chase ran out of fuel. This was not boring at all. 7/10 race. This race had so many interesting moments and pit road action. If it was boring, nothing would have actually happened at all. Stop complaining people. This is how road course racing always has been without gimmicks. Felt like a traditional old school strategy race.

I always bring noise canceling headphones. Makes the experience much better imo.

Great race! Even though it was more of a strategy race, it was far from boring! Love this track! It is one of the few tracks that always delivers! 7/10 race. Haters are always going to hate and will always complain if the race does not meet their expectations.

Poor Mcdowell , but the first pix box he crossed should not have counted . Also , I miss stage brakes on road courses . Road races are kinda boring without them .
No stage cautions ever. If you think a full circuit race is boring without forced breaks, racing might not be for you. Try NHRA if you have a short attention span.
The Xfinity race was amazing. This race, not so much.
Man I gotta give to nascar. This race was so boring that I fell asleep with my mouth open.
I'm surprised with this race because I've found many stable cars, Nascar has Improved the level in permanent circuits and these cars were so quick, and the fluence of the race was nice. Also it's nice to watch a race in Watkins Glen again because it has the best turn not only in Nascar but in USA.

Without question, one of the most boring races at the Glen. Top 10 race leaders protect their points and seriously challenge no one. End of regular season boring.

They slowed the new cars too much. The races are getting too spread out. Good races can still happen, but they seem to be less frequent.
In any other racing series, there are track limits. In Nascar, *road is road*

It's a wiper. Your car has them too.
It's a pointless wiper they all run for aerodynamic purposes on road courses. Nascar says you can run it "in case of rain" but rain might not be in the forecast and they will still run it for downforce. It's dumb and ugly.

Under iRacing track limits rules, everyone would have been disqualified.
But this is real racing
Freeze video at 4:33, and you can clearly see. There is no pit-box between the 20 and the 99. Nascar counted the box with guys standing on the wall with tshirts and cameras, as a pit-box.... There is no tool-box, no banner on the wall, no sign indicating its a pit-box.

No highlights just 34 winning stage one 34 has penalty 24 takes the lead 24 wins stage two and wins worst race of the year 1/10
If McDowell doesn't have that penalty this race would've been a lot better. Though at least Chase had problems, so it wasn't all bad 🤣🤣
So It Was Michael Mcdowell the #44 won the First Stage. And William Byron won in Stage 2.
And So William Byron won in Stage 3 at Watkins Glen International In Watkins Glen New York in NASCAR Cup Series will See at Daytona International Speedway In Daytona Florida Next Week.
Obviously at 8 minutes they use the term highlights loosely.
McDowells crew chief should be demoted. Mc Dowell did his job what was the crew chief doing during the race. If my driver was leading and going too pit crew chief should have been on radio reminding his driver concerning pit road speed and pit boxes and what ever he needed too know.
These next gen cars either need to be fixed or sent to the scrap heap. I’m pretty sure the top 10 remained the same for nearly 30 straight remaining laps. Xfinity series race was much more exciting. Bring back stage cautions for road courses until this car is fixed!
ha....they just removed stage cautions because everyone hates them lol. Listening to nascar fans try to figure out what they want can be maddening, only constant is complaining.

What a boring race... i was there... ot nearly exciting as it had been in years prior... they need to make it longer, Watkins is the fastest road course, would be nice to see it started earlier in the day, and extended maybe 20-30 more laps... bring back the caution after the stage wins also

What’s the sense in curbs if they just use the runoff area without penalty? They should put gravel out there.
What mistake? I counted three pitstalls before his not 4 like the GM sponsored announcers did.

I’m tired of no passing, racing to half way, chase Elliot making the playoffs & he fails. Football in 3 weeks.
Here I am watching the "Extended Highlights" when I watched the actual race and didn't see anything worth highlighting.

Absolutely no entertainment value. Passing is nearly impossible. Every driver is able to get the car to it's limit, the car is too slow, too stable, too close in lap times. The leader can barely pass the last place car.
Super boring, it's the worst Nascar race in a long time. NOTHING HAPPENED, PURE boring 😴
Both Texass races last year were the worst. This one was just a clean and uneventful race.

Well I mean he locked his brakes up trying to stop. And for more Dillon hit Larson into the corner because Dillon held him up 20% of the race and got mad that he passed him.. would’ve been back with Dillon if he didn’t speed in the pits. Dillons fault not Larson… living room expert obviously
