"I'll give you my Triton when you pry it from my cold dead fingers!" Had my classic 61 key since I bought it new in '99 and always will. Best demos - thanks Ujiie.
Have you used the triton vst? I always wanted the triton since it came out but didn't have the funds. Having the vst is a dream fulfilled

Lucky me…..had one of the very first Korg Tritons in Europe……still got it…….never going to sell it…….still feels and sounds great
Just bought this one! Can't wait to dig into it 😎 Thanks for the sauce! I wouldn't have got one if it wasn't for this video
I love the triton when I play the vst and I can hardly play, so when I hear ujie play it’s like travelling to a whole new dimension..

It's cool beauty.

Love the video stay blessed and inspired brother 🙏
Yet another fantastic demo of another piece of cool kit ! Love your work.
Just a brilliant box! Thank You for another great demo, Ujie-san!
Better for creating music idea than todays workstations synths ❤️
What do you mean by that comment? I'm asking because I just purchased a Korg Kronos and I'm new to synthesizers.
@@ErwinSchrodinger64Korg Kronos - kapitalistischer Quatsch für Gelddiebstahl...
@@ErwinSchrodinger64 kronos is 1000 times better than that triton bs.
@@dianevrules could you please explain why someone would negate that today's workstation's aren't superior? I'm attempting to understand why someone would make such a comment. I'm new to synthesizer's and the Kronos is overwhelming in it's potential. In other words, I could download the Triton pre-sets, from Korg, which everyone agrees is 99.9% Triton similar.
@@dianevrules I think they're both pretty good, just depends on what kind of vibe you're going for in your music.
excellent, I love it! I own this model in ProX for years, still a war machine that always gives me so many special effects. Shivers

That very 1st music is fire 🔥

Incredible presentation my friend!
I would like to hear an E-mu E-Synth review also! Thank you Mister!
KORG TRITON BACK! 👋
I want to be as good as Ujiie-san one day

I recognize 1:30, it was used for the baseline for track 2 ("Yochou") from the soundtrack from A Certain Scientific Railgun. 😯
glad its already in vst form
Software will never replace the real thing no matter how well programmed it is.
@@pb879 Actually, the Triton IS software in a box, and it is an extension of the Korg Oasys soundcard software. Just sayin'!🙄😂😎
@@pb879 Alright grandpa, calm down. Let's get you to bed now.
@@dominicbofficial nice, but my statement is true. You've just been son'd so now that makes me your father, so you get some sleep, son. Let the adult actually compose high quality music. Your Vsti miss you. Sleep well, son.
I got mine pretty cheap and is awesome!

price of Korg Tritons increases 60% on the used market overnight!
Hi, great video. My question is, is it possible to connect the Triton Rack to a keyboard with no midi connections? my Yamaha p-115 has a USB to host connection on the back but no midi connections at all.
Thank you
You'd need a usb to midi host box. You can get one for around $40.
I am interested in your USB-MIDI connection to the sound module, what type? Thank you.
Even though the Triton still sounds great, MIDI racks are out of fashion right now, so these are still ridiculously cheap to buy. However, many have problems now with fading displays, jumpy pots and broken floppy drives (needed to save and load presets). So, unless you have a rare MOSS board, you're better off with the excellent Triton VST that Korg is selling, rather than the actual hardware. The VST also includes all of the expansion ROMs. If you do find a MOSS board, these are exceptional, and really make the system shine with physical modeling capabilities. Unfortunately, the VST doesn't emulate this.
Great demo by Ujie-san as always.
There is one other factor which may not affect everyone....... using a computer for everything can be a creativity killer and boring. I find a good workstation keyboard and/or a good rack like say the Yamaha MU100R, enables me to be really fast and spontaneous, e.g. power on the gear and within seconds be recording and layering tracks. Also this helps to simplify the workflow and get rid of distractions.
@@EgoShredder Honestly, everybody is different on this. My computer wakes up from sleep in a second, but my Kronos takes 5 minutes to boot. And having all of my effects right there in my DAW is really convenient. But some people are convinced that hardware sounds better and others just don't like working with software. Personally, I have tons of hardware--including a Triton Rack--but, increasingly, I find myself turning more towards software instead. My Casio CZ-3000 is in storage because the software version actually sounds better and is more convenient than the original.
@@geoffk777 Yeah I understand and not preaching to anyone etc, just my own experiences. I started out in the 80s though, which has a bearing on my choices. I have a 50/50 split of software and hardware, but gone more towards older 90s hardware in recent years. I do have many new plugins and like them, but I prefer computers for editing music once written, and find it almost a none starter for creating and sequencing from nothing. Also I use a computer all day long for earning my income, so I suppose I want a break from that.
@@geoffk777 By the way everything including rack stuff I have bought in recent years, is now 3-4 times more expensive than when I bought them. Infact some things I had expansion wave cards thrown in, which now go for stupid money separately, e.g. one rack I got had a card thrown in for £35 approx and that would cost £200+ now.
@@EgoShredder Yeah, the cost of old hardware has gotten truly insane recently--even 90's racks and accessories, which seemed like they were stuck in a rut. My Yamaha FS1R and EX5R are actually worth serious money now. But, to me, that's just one more reason to skip hardware and focus on software, although, strictly as an investment, the hardware is a better choice. I work in IT, so I spend all day on a computer too, but I'm so addicted to computers that I'm happy to come home and get right back on one. Heroin would be an easier (and, probably, less expensive) addiction.
As for the creative process, it really depends on what phase I'm in. Sometimes, I'm inspired by sounds, and that can easily happen on a computer. But, if I'm working on melody and chords, than I'm likely to just pick a simple sound--usually a piano--and focus on the non-technical stuff. There are so many options that regardless of hardware or software, you can spend all day just tweaking sounds and effects and never actually accomplish much.
Hi! Where do you find one of this rack in great working condition?
I've bought and sold MANY synths over the past three decades, but I've held on to my Korg Triton Rack, my two TR Trinity Racks and My Triton 88.
The quality of their organs, electric pianos, clavs, synths and specially their pads are far superior than anything from Yamaha or Roland. I've owned JVs, Fantom and currently own a Motif Rack XS and they don't come close to the Korgs.
The power of the Korg Triton and TR is found in their "combis". Some of the best organ and moving pads I've heard are found in their factory preset combis. Superb sounding patches!
Now, the bad....
1. You'll need a VST acoustic piano to make up for the horrible paino on the Triton.
2. Programming the Triton is a nightmare. At least for me it is. I'm used to my two Access Virus and Nord Lead that are tweakable via knobs. That's not happening with the Triton.
All in all, it's a rompler. But it's one of the best to ever do it!!
if you threw in a Roland JV1080 (insanely cheap today compared to its original price) you'd have pretty much an entire supermassive audio library at your disposal
The Triton acoustic guitars are also lacking compared to the likes of Yamaha XV and Yamaha Motif ES at the time.
Naw the piano has a charm
That beginning intro sounds like a track from Toonami on Cartoon Network in the U.S.
Those bargain PC speakers are hurting my eyes, but the power of Triton protects my ears.
Do you realize that's the most flatest 3inch monitor speaker that you can buy right now for 400 bucks?
What is this product listed on?
And a question:
Why don't use you sliders from the master keyboard, instead of Triton knobs???
cool
You’re a lot of fun tivo listen to. Not your talking lol cant understand a word but you sound like a great American keyboard player lo
Hey Can you tell me How did you connect that MIDI controller to the Triton Rack? Are you using USB or going thru a Regular Midi cable

Hello Is it factory patches or sound expansion card ? Thank you
Factory patches
Triton still has some very useful sounds
Mine has the Z1 board inside.
When you started playing gypsy woman I instantly felt better
Beautiful instrument, but the sounds are typical late 90s/early 00s. It is a great upgrade from the Trinity. Also, it is a sampler! 😊👍
Yes, it is also expandable and some expansions are cool.
You can put a MOSS card (Multi-Oscillator Synthesis System) in it and the physical modeling will take you FAR beyond the sampler capabilities you are comparing this with.🙄😎
@@saxmidiman Well, on the lookout for a MOSS board then 😉
@@ZenithMusicNet It is rare and far more expensive than what it is, but still worth having. I wanted to add it to my Triton Extreme, but did not manage to do so and in the end I already sold it.
@@musicaldracula2017 Yes, still very expensive (€500) for 25 year old technology, but if demand rises, so do prices. Thanks for your comment my friend.
Can the Korg Triton Rack work with a compact flash device in the floppy drive bay?
actually, it's possible to replace the floppy drive with a USB-port
You can use an SD card in a SCSI2SD adapter (there might be a way to mount it internally in 3.5" bay) , but you need to have the optional SCSI interface board installed in your Triton-Rack (or Triton Classic keyboard).

Which sounds better rack module or vst?
rack of course. I have both.
@@engincanipek7151 Ok, but Woody piano shack did a direct comparison, and they were pretty much identical. Maybe there's a difference, but it's not very significant.
@@geoffk777 Software sounds 2d to me. I mean there is no front and back. only left and right. I have the rack and record it through high end preamps. Maybe this is the reason. I definitely hear some difference on my setup.
@@engincanipek7151 Ok. I have lots of VSTs, and they generally sound great to me. I don't have the Triton VST, but I don't hear a lot of difference in Zen Core and Zenology on Roland. Everybody has different ears, but I still think that the differences are pretty subtle, especially for digital gear.
Its different because of the DAC and I agree, rack has that sound which is much rounder. VSTs are good, but alittle too 'clean' if you get it.
Sounds worse than NS5R(1997)
The golden age of rompler was 1994-1996, after that, there were just some marketing gimmicks: bigger rom, more sounds, more effects, but worse sound, sound lifeless and uncomfortable.
sht sound
You listened to the same video that I did, right? The Triton has always sounded great, so I don't know what you're talking about.
It was the best synth money could buy in the late 90s early 00
@@clarifaco One of the better ones. My preference was the Yamaha EX5 around that time, or the rack MU100R with the nine different PLG boards.
@@EgoShredder I am currently using my rack with my EX5, and TOGETHER they are a dynamo. Especially with the MOSS board.🙄😎
