I have a 2020 RF GT For about 11 months now and I absolutely love it, I love the cabin and I love feeling snug inside of my ride, I find it very engaging. It's the best car I've ever driven
The fuel economy numbers are off based on real world driving. They're rated several MPG too low. In mixed driving in the Seattle area, running through the gears, revving out the engine on acceleration, basically driving "naughty" much of the time I'm averaging around 37+ mpg. If I'm cruising the highways and freeways I'll nudge above 40 mpg (40.2 mpg is easy to get). When I'm out on a Miata Club run and where running hard on the back roads I'm doing somewhere between 37.2 - 38+ mpg. This is insane for the fun you get. Anyways, fantastic car. Mine is my daily driver and it makes even mundane errands a special treat. To say nothing of actually going on a drive for fun.
4:20, the trunk can be opened by a button to the right of the number plate light. With the keyless entry it can be opened without unlocking the rest of the car.
I have a soul red 24 rf. I've owned many fun cars from mild to wild and this one has been my favorite. Does everything well and is a welcome change from all the 4k-5k overweight pigs running around these days. Also, if you turn your own wrench, everything is simple and easy to work on unlike the joy I had on some of my previous german cars which needed specialty tools for everything...
Bought the soft top version of this same trim and I love it, buuuut the RF has a sexy sexy silhouette, especially when stanced decently with flushed wheels. Can’t go wrong with either RF or ST. 😎

There is a power supply under the passenger side dash. No one mentions it?
I went for the soft top because of the better rear view. The hard top though has the advantage of protection from a strong roof top and does not get used by cats as a scratching post. With that said, my car is in the garage when I'm home.😆
A great looking roadster, im sure its a blast to drive. Quality & craftmanship looks great Mazda makes a sleek looking car, this one is just too small.
My 2016 Club soft top was a great car but as my daily that Mazda navigation system was quirky & was not getting updates since 2019. So this year I ordered a 2024 Club soft top with that same Brembo brakes / BBS wheels & Recaro seats. It took 4.5 months to arrive from Hiroshima Japan to the Midwest. The wait was worth it. In my 2016 the Mazda navi couldn't find the Mazda dealer that I went to order my car because it was built after 2019 ! I had to stop & ask directions to find it. The new 2024 Club has taken navigation to another level. I tell Alexa where I want to go & 20 seconds later Google Maps has my route showing on the infotainment screen. Even warns me of objects in the road 1/2 mile before I see them. Overall the step up from the ND1 to the ND3 was worth it to me. The list of improvements Mazda made would be long from the ND1. They keep getting better but from the outside they almost look the same.
I completely agree with the assessment that the Mazda MX five is one of the few sports cars you can still have a good time on the road -For most of my life I have owned high-performance Porsche cars. Including two 911 turbo’s and two GT3 models. These things are ballistically fast and I literally have gotten to the point where I leave my GT3’s in the garage and drive it to the track and then park it again in the garage because it’s just too fast to get any fun on the road. So I decided to buy an MX five and have one on order for next year just for ripping around on the streets. I’m really looking forward to it. By the way the hard top apparently is an extra 170 pounds according to something I read so that makes me very hesitant to do anything but get the soft top because 170 pounds on that car is like having an extra person in the car and that will make it considerably slower and corner worse
It's also wireless in Android Auto in the Grand Touring trim. For 2024. I have one. Also the adaptive cruise control is available in the manual in several other countries including Canada.
I had a 2000 NB that I loved. Most fun car I’ve ever owned. Were I to buy one now, I _might_ instead go for the RF. It would be something different, and I have no garage.
Thanks for this! But just so you and anyone else watching knows, we always add chapters to our videos! They’re in the description and also on the video itself on the timeline. Thanks for watching!
Great car but I'm not a fan of the available colors. I would buy a 2024/2025 RF 6-MT if it was available in Polymetal Gray Metallic (Carbon Edition color).
Yes, it’s located on the firewall, deep under the passenger footwell. (Perfect for a radar detector, as the cord then hugs the dash and is not hanging anywhere. 👍)
It would be nice if they could put something around that rear view camera such as a Miata emblem or something. Otherwise, that camera looks like a belly button or the part where manure comes out of.
From what I've heard it's drivers north of 5'10" that may feel cramped, but not all of them, it also depends on leg length vs torso length, etc. But I think at 5'8" you should be fine.
Yeah, we are absolutely going to continue to have women review cars along with men, thank you for the suggestion. To @ThePeacePlant, we have other videos with this exact vehicle with drivers from 5’10” - 6’0” who are comfortable with no issue.
I hate direct Injection because of carbon build up….until Mazda changes that or moves to what Toyota does direct and dual port together it is off my shopping list
LOL I bought a GR86 Premium and never even considered this car. Why would I pay more than 32.5k (my GR86 out the door price) for a stupid Miata with no back seats? if I didn't get a new GR86, I would've bought a used Cayman over a Miata
I would greatly appreciate it if you would lower the pitch of your voice about 8 octaves, firstly so my eardrums don’t bleed from the ear-piercing shrill, and secondly so when I play your videos every dog within a 5km radius doesn’t make a bee-line for my house.
The exterior trunk release is under the bumper off center on the right side

And it definitely reaches 88mph!!! 😉

Great review, Natalie! I'd be a bit torn between this and a GR 86 but if I went Miata, I'd go for a base soft-top, as simple and cheap as possible.
Good review Natalie!

An excellent and well-researched review 👍🏽
Regarding which one I'd choose the RF all day long. Love the styling, with that option very Lotus-like.
Just a small correction: Android Auto does work wirelessly in the ND3.
LOL - Nobody reads the manual anymore - rear trunk open button on the right side under the bumper lip - though you need the key on you...
Nobody needs the manual anymore 😂. Speak for yourself

I'd love to see the proper Hatchback with lighter and roomier version, instead of the RF.
Just like Porsche make a Cayman to their Boxster, I would love a hardtop MX5
Oooo…Miata version of the Clown Shoe. No thanks!

So many people do not like this color but I like its subtle contrast. Sharp looking car without too much flash.
Great review! I have a 2019 Miata it has touchscreen even without Alexa or CarPlay accessible only when parked. :)
Great to find another BMW 507 fan! My favourite drive out of 100s in Forza Motorsport 7. What a great car. Mine's a lovely milk chocolate brown.
A great looking roadster, im sure its a blast to drive. Quality & craftmanship looks great Mazda makes a sleek looking car, this one is just too small.
The RF is gorgeous but I would have to go with the soft top. Hopefully someday soon.
RF perfect for extreme weather hot or cold, quiet, and then awesome with open targa top when weather permits. Great all round daily driver sports car.
This is an outstanding review and I own one.

I just had Mazda fit Apple CarPlay to my 2016 and run up to date maps through that.
Congrats on your new model purchase.
That color will look pretty good with matte bronze wheels.

For my next car I might actually get one of these as a daily driver. But hopefully they continue to make them until I get to there.
Exactly my car. The RF Homura (German) in zircon sand. So looking forward to watching this now. :-)
#2 dream convertible sports car.
What's #1?
The RF gt, in soul red, is a head turner! And mine, with the mt, is in transit to the dealer now 😊
Even with a manual shift we have cruise control which I like. I’d Love to see adaptive cruise on a nextgen Mazda! ❤
Love the RF in Soul Red!
is it me or was the audio mix of this very heavy on the high frequency?
I had a 2000 NB that I loved. Most fun car I’ve ever owned. Were I to buy one now, I _might_ instead go for the RF. It would be something different, and I have no garage.
How did U get the black roof with the brembo breaks and recaro seats? It's actually not possible to configurate that combination. Not in Germany...
5:00 Start up
8:10 New infotainment
10:30 Competition

Hold on to that steering wheel when going over the Bourne bridge!
Amazing auto!

Hi how do I apply for your gift a car program
Does it have a 12V accessory socket?
Yes, it’s located on the firewall, deep under the passenger footwell. (Perfect for a radar detector, as the cord then hugs the dash and is not hanging anywhere. 👍)
Love the design language but they need more eye-popping colors like Soul Red. Give me a bright Subaru Blue. Who wants more grey and sand? Meh
This car is the only thing that makes me wish I was shorter. Just can’t quite fit comfortably 😢
It would be nice if they could put something around that rear view camera such as a Miata emblem or something. Otherwise, that camera looks like a belly button or the part where manure comes out of.
I prefer the soft top all day long.
How tall is she? She says the head room is good for her. I am trying to do the little math to figure if i would fit at 5'8 with no problem
From what I've heard it's drivers north of 5'10" that may feel cramped, but not all of them, it also depends on leg length vs torso length, etc. But I think at 5'8" you should be fine.
This is why you have men do the car reviews.
@@dancooper6002 So you must be 5'6" like me, since we are men.

The soft-top 1.5L (132 HP) that we also get here in Europe, weight distribution is 50/50 (also). 2.0L slightly more nose-heavy 😗
Mazda should make a larger 4 seater of this car, it will give the Mustang some competition.
A 4 seater would completely kill what makes this car great.
Actually yes!! They should make it into a crossover!!!
@@bitbat9 talk about a limp troll
@@KidNato not trolling ford should hire me
Buttress c pillars are horrible for drivers view when driving. Ill take the soft top any day.
Soft top classic and better looking. I'm my opinion.
At those prices, the Miata I want is a used Miata
What's with the color. Its a sports car not a delivery truck!
It needs more power, a little bigger. And more colors and interior options for me to pay over 40k
You are way too close to the steering wheel. If the airbag goes, lookout.
My guess is that she will not grow any taller 😄…. Short legs need to reach pedals for operation! 😉😜

Had a 99 loved it. Got stolen in LA

Over $40k for the RF no thanks
Club RF comes with the BBR package standard (4k option on the soft top). The GT RF is actually a good bit less.
For the sheer fun of driving you get in return, $40K is actually a bargain.
Why would any one buy a hard top Miata? 🤦♂️🤷♂️🤦🏽♀️🤣
It does fold down. I think it looks pretty nice.
She reminds me of Melissa Gilbert from the Roseanne show lol. Darlene!!!
Hard top? No, thank you.

Ugly colour. Far too slow and cramped. Too expensive in the uk
What a awful color......why ?
I hear 10% of new 2024 miata transmission goes bad after 15000 miles. That's why I haven't bought one.
You heard wrong.
