The soap all done in the mould looks like they got cat ears, and now I want--nay, DEMAND-- a kitty cat soap with ears! Maybe a cute Halloween one, with black cats and orange, or just a nice fall one with oranges and greens? Idk, it just got me thinking

From what I've noticed, people tend to connect the most to the version they saw first. In terms of direct adaptations, it was the '95, Colin Firth version for me. But, what actually got me really into it and actually helped me understand the characters was the web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. The modern take on it was great while still keeping true to the characters.
LOVE the effect of the confetti/shavings... that would make an amazing “layered birthday cake” soap! Do it in 2 or 3 layers with a line of “frosting” in between... and then a matching frosting on top!!

The gardener quarters were usually like an home as the servant quarters were more like bedrooms on an undesirable floor of the main house. Like the attic or the basement.

As a musician with a degree in music history, I do not like Knightley version score better. It creates an ambience but it seems like a generic drama-romance-movie score. (of course musical taste is subjective.)
The music score for the BBC mini series is extremely accurate. All of the music used is music from the period that the story is set in. The Keira Knightley version has inaccurate costuming and musical score and the acting is too dramatic and it's just... not as good. The BBC version is an immersive masterpiece. It is SO GOOD OMG
I love the music from the movie, but I agree it is not particularly accurate to the time period. (As a costume designer, the movie costumes are garbage for time period accuracy)

as much as i love the new little women, for historical accuracy, the 1990s winona ryder version is very historically accurate
They actually done a documentary on all the behind the scenes for the original pride and prejudice BBC. Loved how they researched the dances, to ensure it matched the time. Also, one interesting thing, they had in back in that time, they use to bring shoes to the ball, so these were dancing shoes. E down to the candles, you know since electricity wasn’t a thing then, they would actually have different types of candles for the hours that you would be at the ball. They will have 8 to 6 hours and sometimes longer, (hours representing the burn rate). It also showed your wealth status, so if you had the 8 to 12 hour burning candles, then you were considered more of a higher class then if you could just afford the six or lower hour candles. Lol
In Germany, we have something called "Fleischsalat" which basically translates to meat salad and it looks exactly like the base. I couldn't think of anything else watching the video 😅

I would love to see your take on other books such as Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, or maybe Frankenstein? OOOHHH! What about Stalking Jack the Ripper? That book is fantastic!
I can't choose because honestly, thus far there hasn't been a single version of P&P that can compete with the one I've built in my head thanks to the book

I am SOOO excited for this! I’m a HUGE Jane Austen fan. She is the reason I have a degree in English Literature. We use a lot of the Pemberley diamond soap. It’s how I prove my son actually washes his hands I have to be able to smell the soap on his grubby little boy hands.

I do still have my favorites but this whole month every soap has been beautiful! This pemberley soap was the prettiest except the succulent soap, that was my fav. My favorate color is green.💗💕💖

My aunt was actually the head gardener for the Bush Estate in Maine, US. She lived in their “gardener’s quarters” on the estate , which was basically a greenhouse and a guest house put into one!! truly a dream job

My great grandfather was a groundskeeper on an estate on long island. The family he worked for treated his employees very well. He had a small house on the property where he lived with his wife and 5 children. My grandmother still tells me stories about the times they were allowed in the big house, how they celebrated holidays, and, my favorite stories, watching the polo ponies train and generally being a young girl growing up around a bunch of ponies.
