    Very helpful, thank you. I wintered over some that were potted and in leaf when purchased and I probably would have replanted them upside down were it not for your video. 🙃

    Nice vid. 👍👍I'm lucky enough to live in an area where mine stay in the ground all year round.

      You know, I am sure I have seen some plants come through in someone else's garden that were left in last year. And we had -6 over the winter! Simon

    I bought one from the store that was in a pot and when I dug out the bulb it was actually facing upside down so who knows how it even grew 1 flower

    Hi! I planted few bulbs and they started growing but then stopped and now look very weak and not healthy 😢 What, do you think, could be wrong? Thank you for your help!
    Ps: I have not made any mistakes that you mentioned🤔

      Hi white calla lily and thanks for the question. Unfortunately there could be many reasons for this and without seeing the plants or the site, it is difficult to say. It also depends on what you mean by 'not healthy'. Has there been a change of colour in the stem, is it wilting, does it have signs of disease or pest damage, were the bulbs undersized, is their soil contaminated, is it planted in the shade, is there clay soil...there are many factors that could be at causal. Send me an image to gardensofeaden@gmail.com. Simon

    "Don't plant when it's cold, especially now" is a little vague unless we know what the temperature is where you live? Where are you? What is cold for you? It's the last month of winter where I am but it's 20C today? At night it's about 9C - is that too cold?

      Sorry I didn't make that clear. They get planted outside in the ground once the threat of late frosts have passed. Kind regards, Simon

      Hi Danny, the answer can depend on where in the world you are, but if you are in the UK like me, then it will need full sun snd possibly a high potassium fertiliser to encourage those flower stems to form. I hope that helps. Simon

    What if the directions say 8 inches deep?

    • @walkingtalkinggardeners
      @walkingtalkinggardeners  4 месяца назад

      Hi Susan, if you plant it that deep it will take a long time for the top growth to emerge from the soil due to soil temperature. It might be a typo? Probably meant 8cm? Kind regards Simon
