I’m late to the party on these. I paired the overwound in the bridge with the oversized neck pickup and these pickups rock. It’s getting the spank on without being too twangy. And they both clean up very well. I put an open style pickup ring around the neck pickup to dress things up and to keep the E string from getting hung under the pickup. Thanks for your review on these. There weren’t very many others and it helped me pull the trigger on them. And great playing btw. 👍
Got the Artec version of these from Guitar Madness for less than $30 for the set on sale. Bridge about 7.8K neck is about 9K, definitely have to drop the neck into the pickguard to balance with the bridge. Set bridge height first, watch out for wolf tones, then set the neck height measuring dBs. Cut down an open nickel silver neck cover so the lip stopped against the bobbin, poles *just* fit inside the cut out, independent ground lead. Swapped the brass ground plate on the bridge for a copper plated steel one, attached with silicon. Prolly my wishful thinking took over my ears but the bridge sounds less veiled. Unveiled?? They arent touchy like most high outputs but they're definitely loud, lol. And they absolutely swallow gobs of gain. Neck is more woody than I'm used to, first wired them with 50s tone control wiring, went back to modern with a treble bleed which brought highs out but lost too much low end. Back to 50s wiring and tried a Vox amp-in-a-box pedal, not quite, ditched the Vox. Dusted off the Rangemaster clone, the Champ clone, and grabbed a very thin pick. That did it! Nuts good through a friend's Princeton Reverb. Flatwounds might be in order... Still, not at all like other hot Tele sets, like the Nocaster-alikes that can cut your head off if they get on top of you, or the (somewhat silly I must say) Mr Seymour and Mrs Duncan hot Quarter Pounders. Very jazzy clean, spanky and rather twang-free. For $30...
That baby sounds like she does run a bit hot under the hood! Dig it, though I usually like a little lower output so all my flubs don't stand out as much hahah. Good review Rick, and great playing as always man.
It doesn't always work. This title came from the first one I did with a Melody Maker Les Paul. It slipped off but luckily no damage. I always get these guitars lent to me. I don't want to hurt them. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@RickRomanelli well we've done our first gig and it was brilliant! Bit worried though as there is a big rise in virus cases so don't know what will happen
Are the pickups that quiet, or is your tele shielded....? Do you use a noise gate...? I just ordered a Fatbody Neck pickup with a repro 60' Hot bridge pickup, and then came across a video reminding me of how irritating the hum can be with single coils... so, wondering how you got your Tele so quiet with the Guitar Fetish pickups... Also. what pots and caps are you using...? Thx...!
I've watched this like 50 times. Great tone, review, and playing!
Wow. Thanks a lot dude.
Wanted to hear the pickups... stayed for the playing. Well done! That was entertaining.
Thanks man!
Your hats are magically changing Rick ! 😉🎸
I'm magic, Todd. My shirts as well. Thanks buddy!
The pickups sound great. And that’s some damn tasty phrasing!
Thank you!

Righteous tones, cool improv. Love the color.
I have a AC-RC OZ slowly make it's way to me. :)
Cheers.
Dude. Best pedal I have, period. GOOD choice. Thanks for watching as always.

Thanks. My flubs always stand out.
Your very good with killer tone. Cool Man😎
You are very kind with your compliments. Thanks for watching. Peace!!
Great job buddy, greetings from Barcelona 👍🎵
Thank you!! I like this video. I don't always.
Thank you for being "very, very careful."

Thanks Nic. I hope the tour has gone well.

Great demo and great tone on those pups! What color purple did you go with? I’m thinking about doing one in that some color with a maple neck. 🤘
Well, this is not my guitar. When I look at the GFS website, it looks like Cobalt Blue. Thanks for watching!
nice Rick. sounds great.
Thanks Eric! Hope you are well my friend!
Very nice sound and playing \m/ On a sadder note,R.I.P. Peter Green who passed earlier today. :-( \m/
Thanks Clive. That is sad. RIP Peter Green.

It's not my tele so I can't answer many of these questions. I do not use a noise gate. I use a volume pedal and the volume knob. Thanks for watching.
Sounds like a TELE to me... Great VIdeo and Playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much for the compliment.
It sounds really nice, but what is the point of that mounting ring in neck if You have a pickguard?
I didn't build it. The person who did is a good friend who thought it looked cool. I agree with him. Thanks for watching.
Man that thing sounds like a million bucks for real! I sent you an email yesterday. Did you get it?
Jeff Underwood just responded now. That was a great sign for TTT. Thanks for checking out this video.
@@RickRomanelli always glad to check out your videos. I just responded to the email with a request
Just ordered a set of Lil punchers for my TE-62 the fatboys were sold out!
Let me know how they sound! Thanks for watching and commenting.
phat. love that loudness.exactly what I am looking for
They are very good pickups. Louder than one would expect, though.
I wish mine sounded like that!
."..and you can have that tone as well for the low, low price of...". Pickups are wound very well, it seems. Thank you Janice!
Hi Rick. How's the Burgh?
I haven't been there in 3 months. The burb is great though. I hope you and Miss Lynda are having a calm and happy summer.
Sounds great. Very 'pearly' if that´s an english Word. Really elegant and with some Dirt it developes a great Timbre :)
Yep definitely has its own kind of shimmer, I'd say. Thanks Pickerhat.
Which fatboy - 10k or 7k version in the bridge?
7k. Thanks for watching!
Man that thing is buzzing terrible at about 7:00 on....
There are a bunch of computer monitors around me. Sorry for the buzzing. Thanks for watching though.
