I saw you on BBC breakfast a while ago. On it you spoke about cooking rice and pasta by boiling for two mins then leaving with the lid on, but I can’t remember how long for. Could you please consider doing some videos on energy-saving cooking. We all need it with the price of utilities in the UK right now!
The water needs to be boiling before adding the pasta or rice. Cook the pasta for 2 minutes in the boiling water, cover with a lid and turn the heat off. Set a timer for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it should be finished. I try this method with pasta all the time. With the rice, I turn off the heat, secure a tea towel over the pan and cover with a lid to keep the heat locked in. Same as the pasta - 2 minutes of cooking, and 10 minutes of nothing.
