PGI 2023 - Best large cylinder shell competition

- These are shells that I have never seen in person before and they where so beautiful! The amount of work that goes into these shells to get the colors just right, the timing just right, to have all those breaks work is amazing!! These shells were all sent up Sunday after the public display. I tried to trim as much of the delays out as I could, but I wanted to leave in the builders names and the shell description because there is some really great work here and they deserve some credit!

This is from the first night of competition, and being able to see shells like this in person was amazing!! Some real skill and artistry were on display here!
I really need to plan a pyrocation next year.
@@JG-PyroTX you really do!!! Tonights competitions alone had 4 pyro musical, a 10 - 12" shell competition, 5 - 8" shell comp, 3" shell comp, gerb cometition, girandolas comp, unlimited mine and comet comp (so 4" mines LOL) and more... Oh and Spirit of 76, Hauter Fireworks, PyroLand all did product demos too... and all the lines were active... I think I am in heaven..
I need a pyrocation as well. Makes my 3" shells look like childsplay.
@@agenttassadar7272 I would recommend!! I can't wait for next years! I haven't REALLY built anything yet (helped on part of a 12" just putting in stars and burst charge). When I was talking to the All-Stars though they were all saying how much harder it is to build a 3" because you have so much less room to work... So if you are getting solid results with 3" then you are doing a lot right!!

Oh boy, def. need longer tubes for these folks building these hahaha! Great work all around, I'm really glad to see other styles of shells being built here in the states now.
There where some INCREDIBLE cylinder and Maltese shells going up at PGI!!! I can't wait for this years!! They are looking into getting some builders from Malta to attend this year or next year to hold classes and bring some of their shells as well... I really hope they pull it off!!!
This is why the announcer should be a builder but wiley is a great builder

Last year was my first year and I don't know how I lived with out it either!!! I can't wait for this year!! Sounds like they are bringing some Maltese builders and some of their shells as guests and to teach some classes too!!!

I had no clue what to expect at PGI..but to see shells like these..and the exhibition ones and all the competitions and displays and... I am hooked! Such skilled builders on display!

I know.. I felt so bad...putting in all that work for 4 break shells...and neither one went :(
It was weird that they didn’t work. I built them in batches and tested 4 of them. All 4 worked great. Here is the video of the shells from the same batch.

Sweet ! I know none of those people. Old school is gone. The last shells I made was a 6 timed 5" Hammer and a 2 timed 5" Shemezu red stars syeteens and BSs. Spoolette timed. (I don't know how to spell those words)

That shell was AMAZING!! It just kept breaking and breaking and multiplying!! I can't even imagine how long it took to get all that timing right!!

Oh yeah.. that one was INSANE!! Those last few breaks were SO LOW.. and that Bottom Shot shook the ground.. If it didn't go off on the ground it wasn't that far away!!

Come out! Take some shell building classes! And the ones you build you can take right back to the open B line and send it up! It is an incredible time!! Rumor is they are going to bring in some Maltese builders this year to do classes and show off some of their shells!!
Imagine working allyear on one or two shells and the announcer effs your name up and stumbles over ever word of the shell description...

LOL I get you! The atmosphere during it was actually pretty light with laughter going through the crowd as she stumbled.. And you should hear so of the bad jokes I get out during gaps in the competitions LOL I Was thinking of doing a super cut of all of them and the groans!
I guess, it's all volunteer so you get what you get, but some of the effects she couldn't pronounce I was like WTF LOL
Man I am not sure how many announcers are that skilled!!!! The builders were just incredible Anon.... There where so many great competitions over the week!! Some of those large ball shells? Insane!!! And the Masters cylinder shells.... Just what a week!!!

So ALL of the competition shells (rockets, mines, fountain, lances everything) have been made by the competitor and all the stars and colors are done by them too... Just so much talent represented here!!

Incredible! So much skill and artistry in these shells! Just getting all that timing right... never mind ok blow this part up but leave this untouched! I could of just seen these shells and been happy with my trip to PGI!

Italy is a trip I could talk the wife into though :) And I would love to see some of the Italian builders shells in person!!!
