Henry Hill is the only former mobster I knew personally. He used to live in the small town of North Platte, NE, back in 2005ish. Henry was friendly with me and a few of my friends. He liked drinking and going bar hopping with us and then partying afterward. We had to keep it in the back of our minds what kind of person Henry was, but he was always nice to us. He eventually overstayed his welcome in that town. He would get drunk and start mouthing off to people in bars. I had to save him numerous times from getting his ass beat by someone he mouthed off to. He was eventually kicked out of all the bars in town for obvious reasons. He was the chef at the restaurant that was in the hotel he lived at. It was some of the best Italian food I've ever had. I'll never forget that time period in my life. It was one of the better times in my life. Henry could party like he was 20 years old. Good times!
@154g , they knew where Henry was. He wasn't even in the witness protection program anymore. And it was all over the news in Nebraska. Henry wasn't worried. All the people who wanted to whack him were either dead or in prison the rest of their lives. Not only that, but Im pretty sure the feds were still keeping a close eye on him. I do recall my dad's girlfriend being scared that someone was going to come in and shoot up the whole bar just to get Henry. I remember telling her that the mafia doesn't do it like that.
@investinyourself6878 I saw and I'll definitely be locked in. You're from Nebraska huh? I have a lot of family there, curious who just part You're from? I understand if you don't wanna answer.
My Dad was in the life in Chicago I am A pastor been one now for 33 years the thing he told me was the honor was taken out because of greed he said any Dad that loved his kids would keep them as far away from that life as possible when you spoke of the change you seen it reminded me of him thank you and GodBless
Again gotta compliment you Adrian! Watching every episode. No kidding, you are one of the best interviewers. Very fair, present at all the time and your questions are always on the spot due to your knowledge and background research. Kudos to you and thanks for the great content and the awesome interviews with Sal💪🏻!!!
I did grad school in the West Village, was a drinking buddy of another former Marine, and played in an after hours 21 game. So I heard scuttlebutt, in part because my prior paper was more than ok. Mr. Neal & Joe “Piney” were names that were always said with the greatest respect. But Mr. Polisi, can you confirm my belief that it was a picture of Joe Piney? Just curious. But I would always give a small nod. Four guys in a red Cadillac convertible enabled me to have a tree when I had been busy til the last minute. We were looking but not making any move. Four guys in their late 20s and explained why it would be fine to enjoy a tree no charge from a closed lot. I went for late desert at Joe Butch’s coffee shop. You brought back some good memories from my youth. I never got a cold vibe from any of the “famouus” guys. I always give everyone respect unless they disrespected me. Led to me being comfortable in those guys places. I was never up in their games, except 21. But I had been standup when in a very tight spot, and it has always been met with respect in return. The blue flu were a whole different thing entirely. Bob Dylan said “to live outside the law you must be honest”. That has been my experience. In spades. Days gone by, but some good, interesting memories from my past. I ended up with a family and a consulting firm after that. And moved. But I miss thise days. Glad to see you both back on your game. -Matt’s dad Dan Oh, and Tiro a Segno in the Village. Bet you know about it.

I don't blame him from slowly walking away from the mob life. Such a Treacherous way to live always constantly looking over your shoulders not jus for the enemy n law enforcement but also your so-called friends n associates no wonder why most mobsters pass away from either Ulcers, heart attacks, cancer, brain tumors than there's of course the violent way like car bombings, getting shot, or beat up unmercifully, drowning, stabbing, traffic accident

Like Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, Sal Polisi was initially associated with The Colombo Family prior to moving laterally to The Gambino Organization.
Wait, sal did business with joe pegleg? Wasn’t he one of the main members of the mexican mafia or was he talking about someone else?
Joe Brandcato is who Sal is talking about. He was the acting boss of the Colombo Family at one time.
