Just got into 3d printing and wow this video is just what Im after. Been watching it a few times actually. Thanks a bunch for explaining all the colors and methods.
I just stumbled upon your channel and cannot be happier. You truly are a talented individual, rather it be your painting techniques or the actual production/editing of the video itself.
Yes, you should certainly seal in with varnish to protect the paint. I use VMS varnish from an airbrush or you can use any varnish from a rattle can if you prefer. I've used Titan and Citadel rattle cans with good results.
I really liked how you walked us through your process and the result is really stunning! You've gained a new subscriber ☺️. Do you thin down the citadel washes when you spray them? And may I ask what you thin your A-stand metallics with? Thank you 😁
@@Kammmm thanks. I don't thin down citadel washes. They spray just fine without thinning. A-stand metallics are a lacquer paint so you use a lacquer thinner to thin
There are pre-supported files at 1:12 scale for this model I believe. I printed at 1:6 and did my own supports. There are some great videos explaining how to support using lychee. It is more complicated than is easily explained in a comment. Essentially you want to use the smallest support tip needed on your finest details while supporting your model to prevent breakage due to the forces of your printer pulling away from the FEP.
You can get a starter set of paints from Vallejo and mix any color you want. I have a large color range for my tank models which have historical paint colors that can be difficult to color match
So my brushes shrivel up after painting just a few warhammer models but yours look so sharp. Is there anyway you could tell me what brushes you use or recommend any kind? Also this painting was amazing! I want to start painting 3D prints as well soon!
@@genji-try-hard-_-5360 i use brush restore from VMS. There are brush cleaning products to help make your brushes last longer. No matter the brand they'll all wear out eventually. For detailing, Marta kolinsky brushes are some of the best. That is a type not a brand. I've been liking AK and Abteilung brushes just because they hold their point
@@zumanoka3310 thanks and yes there is. This was one of my first sculptures so things have come a long way and this model. I just posted Poison Ivy this morning and she has red hair. You'll see how I used a Drybrush technique to bring out the realistic hair
I'm currently working on a 3D sculpt Shadow of the Erdtree version of Radahn. After I finish it would you want the stl to print it and give it a paint?
I can't deny the fact that this is a nice work of painting, but I'm a bit upset that the measurements are not really what Malenia truly have, like a bit oversized breasts and lips, she's not that "pretty", I mean, that's not the thing that make Malenia beautiful, it's more in the stance, the aura she gives. But I repeat, it's a really nice work, good job o7
@@Kurappika39 I totally understand. This is the typical style of art from CA3D studios. I have multiple versions of Malenia that are true to her original and transformed forms from the game.
omg, I love this character so much😍😍😍

Man I love seeing another painter who calls out their gifts as God given.

Should I spray a miniature/figurine with some kind of varnish to seal the paint job? If so, then are there any brands you would recommed? :')

Hey man, where to get this model? I really liked it and wanted to print it too.
I came here to try and learn how to paint flesh tones and ended up learning about how to paint a base as well.
I'm glad to hear that!

I have been thinking about getting into modeling but god damn man, you showed like 40 colors, and each are 3 bucks a piece minimum.

I’d recommend the army painted kits they’re comparable for much less money but I collect colors slowly over time

This is really cool but I just wish the model wasn't sexualized. It's mischaracterizing her, even her expression is odd.
