- Bucket List Seattle Pre Cruise! We are in Seattle two full days before our Alaskan cruise on the Carnival Spirit. Today our goal was to cross some items off our Seattle bucket list. Pike Place Market Starbucks, the Space Needle, Funko HQ, Tulalip Casino, the Edgewater Hotel and more on today's epsiode!

Technically speaking the Starbucks at the Market is a rebuilt one - as the original burned down and is an empty lot across the street.
Secondly, the store on 1st and Pike and one other sell the original store items as well without a wait; and the Starbucks Reserve is a short walk across the freeway up Pike/Pine and well worth a visit.
Can’t believe you took Jenny all the way to Tulallip Casino. Well done Tony!

I'm originally from Washington state. Here is a giant $$ saving tip for car rental in Seattle. I repeat NEVER rent a car at SeaTac airport. It is a huge waste of $$$. They charge ridiculous taxes out of the airport. Take the bus or taxi (or Uber) to downtown car rental locations. You will literally save hundreds of $.
I know it may seem like a headache but when you are saving that much money it is worth the effort.
I am super cheap so I take my luggage on the bus and simply ride to downtown.

Yeah, you have to book way in advance when traveling at this time of year. Also, people are getting hip to the outrageous fees at airport terminals.

I grew up and went to school in Everett Washington! Many years ago, that funko building was actually the Bon Mache! A lot has changed over several decades. Welcome to Everett!
I remember the Bon Marché One of my sisters used to work at the one in Seattle. I was sad when they went belly up. I think Nordstrom's is the only store left from that Era that originated in Seattle. I know there are others, but they weren't around when the Bon and Nordstom's started.

When we stayed in Seattle, we stayed at a boutique hotel a couple of blocks from the Space Needle. Ate brunch in the Needle. It was neat. Took an hour to make the rotation. The Chuhuly museum at the base of the Needle was cool. We also walked to Pikes.
You are in my favorite area NW....always wanted to stay at Edgewater...Lived in Pdx 23 years...thinking abt returning in spite of probs...thank you for supporting the NW, it is a blessed place.

Big tip for a seasoned traveler. Go with National Emerald Aisle. Mid size or better and no line. Go straight to your car. Hertz has gold club. Same thing. Might be a little more $$ but 5 minutes vs 2 hours to grab car is worth every $$. No aggravation, it is vacation!

If you ever have time in Seattle with a car pre or post cruise drive to see Snoqualmie Falls. It's about 30 minutes East of Seattle. Spectacular!
Have lunch at the Space Needle! This gives you free admission, great lunch and beautiful views. Chinatown is great. And of course Pike Street market.
Aww geez. Your video made me cry. I'm from Seattle but haven't been home in seven years. Luckily, my hubs and I are moving closer to home in a week so we'll be making more frequent trips to Seattle to catch up with friends and family. Also planning an Alaska cruise since we can drive to the port! I'm happy you liked my city!

Hangin' out in MY hood! Getting out of Seattle is usually the best idea in terms of availability of items and lower sales taxes. Hope the rainy weather this last few days don't get you down. It's JUNEuary again.

Looks like we were both stuck in the same mind-bogglingly long Budget rental car line! It was like a scene from a wacky comedy movie-total chaos!

I live just a couple minutes away from the Tulalip Casino and it is a great casino but it’s been open like 20 years 😂 not too new but it’s very nice. Enjoy your cruise and your stops here in the PNW.

My wife and I got married at the Edgewater hotel! Even stayed in their penthouse for the weekend. It's a beautiful place.

My husband stayed at the Edgewater Hotel before our Alaska Cruise last and we really enjoyed it. We had the water view also. Have a wonderful cruise 🚢
Wow! Other than the Funko shop we did this same thing. Drove to Tulallip Casino (I was lucky) lunch at Bob’s and shopping at that Wal-Mart. If I had been aware of Funko we would have went as I have a niece that collects them and that store looked awesome.

Years ago I stood along the waterfront in Seattle during Seafair with my daughter Heidi to view the Missouri. Saw where the Japanese surrendered. We waited for hours. I lived in Seattle 5 years and don't miss it one bit except for the excellent Asian food. Asian food in South Texas is pretty bad in comparison. Pike Place Market and the Space Needle are indeed bucket list items. Glad you have them collected. I worked in the Boeing Everett plant also. You should do the plant tour as you would definitely get your steps in! Yor waterfront hotel does have a nice view of the Puget Sound. Looking forward to your Alaskan cruise report.

Just returned a few days ago from Seattle and our Alaskan cruise with Celebrity. It was a great cruise, and mostly beautiful weather. Then we disembarked! Our departing flight ended up being delayed by 20 hours. It was close to midnight before it was confirmed we weren't flying that day and there were literally no hotels to be found for 8 people. So, we camped out somewhere in the depths of SeaTac. I passed out in the midst of all the gate changes but was treated by a trio of awesome paramedics. Luggage issues, no flight home from DFW, and I am now recovering from Covid. 😷🤒🤧😳

Welcome to my city Seattle and glad to see you guys had a great time. If I knew you guys around my neighborhood I could have invite you guys for a backyard barbecue but Hey it was a pouring rain all through. The weekend so maybe it wasn't a good idea and yes Everett Franco is a great place to visit.
I visited Seattle (land trip) for the first time this April and was at Pier 66 to see the first cruise of the season. Next time, I'm gonna be on that ship. 😁

I just got off Ovation in Seattle on Friday and our flight out was delayed/rescheduled so we got to spend an extra day on Saturday in Seattle. Took our son to the Pacific Science Center until it closed then we walked over to the Olympic Sculpture Park as the Bliss was sailing off. Seems I was close to having a Tony encounter. Enjoy your cruise!
Enjoy. We sailed the Spirit to Alaska in 2012. Just this February we sailed on her again, this time with my best friend and his family. It was their first cruise. They are now hooked on cruising and have already booked the Horizon.
Great to see Jenny B. Something I Iearnt many years ago is that there is only one thing worse as a male in a relationship than being wrong. That is being right!! The latter gets you serious grief..
We stayed at the Edgewater a few years ago in a waterfront room and it became one of our favorite hotels-loved the decor! Visited the needle and Pikes Place last year post Alaska cruise and enjoyed eating/shopping there. So ready for another Alaska cruise. Can never get enough! Have a wonderful time w/family & friends! 🤞🏻🎰💰

Seattle is wonderful when we were there for our 50th we went up the space needle that was great and fast but what a view. have fun on the cruise we will be going back soon.
We stayed at The Edgewater last year for our cruise. We had a balcony room and the NCL ship was right next to our balcony. It was awesome.
My stepson always said no trip anywhere is complete until u visit the area Walmart...lol.

I couldn’t believe when you said that you were going to Everett! I thought, what could they want in Everett? Never knew that they had that incredible Funko Pop store there! I have resisted collecting them myself but going to have to check it out next time we go up there to shop.

The Edgewater is so nice. It's a nice short walk to get on NCL . I also love staying at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront across from NCL's cruise port. They also have a shuttle to RCL's ships. They have refrigerators in the room and it's only a short walk to Pike Place Market and tourist things at the Waterfront.
Go to Din Tai Fung for the best dumplings!!

Right in my neck of the woods, drove by my city (Mill Creek) on your way to Funko. That Starbucks is overrated (not even the real first location!). For some good java hit the Ghost Alley Espresso under the Market next to the gum wall. Super friendly too!

glad you are enjoying seattle and everett we live a short ferry ride from everett on Whidbey Island we overlook the ships passing our house, be sure to wave when you go by. When I am home I always look on cruise mapper to see when and which ships are passing. Love your channel glad you have Jenny B with you on this cruise. Have a great time.

Have fun in the Seattle area. If you get a chance head out to Snoqualmie Falls it is very beautiful. Also if you have wine, beer, or spirits lovers in your party making the trek over to Woodinville for some tastings. If you can't make it this trip try and squeeze it in on a future trip.

We are sailing on the Norwegian Sun from Seattle to Alaska round trip for 9 days. Then we have one day in a hotel and then we sail on the Bliss roundtrip to Alaska for 7 days.

We stayed at The Maxwell Hotel, STAYPINEAPPLE, it was so cool! Two blocks to the needle and Chihuly. Chihuly Garden and Glass was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint, amazing, gorgeous. This was the best part of my cruise to Alaska as I got COVID an was isolated in my cabin for 5 days on Eurodam, missed everything 😵💫😵💫😵💫
FUNKO! I live in Everett, and so many friends drop by on their way to Funko with their kids & Grands. Not quite a theme park, but as your brother said: Mecca.
