Absolutely, I was really surprised not to see Lark, Hellyers, or Callington represented here, I work in the Australian liquor industry specifically in whisky and I'd only heard of Starward and Morris.
There are some fantastic distilleries down in Tassie. I have a bottle from Nant (Port Cask) that I've slowly been working my way through the past month that has been really nice and I recently finished up a bottle of Hellyers Vintage Triple Cask that was an absolute treat and the best thing I've drunk in a while.
@@lachlanmarshall39 Manly Spirits are more well-known for their gin but honestly I find their products quite generic. That Boutiquey Whisky Company is a 'private bottling' company based in Kent, UK, who bottle rare whiskies from around the world, this just happens to be an Australian bottling.

Sullivans Cove won the WWA three times! 2014, 2018, 2019. There's a whole bunch of distilleries around Australia, no way you could try them all in this video. ...although it would be rather entertaining to watch them try...
Dermot, you need to get in touch with the Australian Embassy and pitch a group of you touring Oz. It would be a tourism hit and you have more than enough viewers to justify them hosting you. Same goes for here in Canada BTW. Cheers all.

Fun fact: the head distiller (whom I have met) for Morris is a yorkshiremen and has made liquor all over the world before settling down with Morris and he's good mates with the owner of Starward.

Definitely try Lark, Starward and Archie Rose! I work in The Big Bottlo and they're absolutely fantastic. If I remember, it was Archie Rose who nabbed Australia our first Best Whisky Award or something, so that's gotta speak for itself
Enjoy the local product but be prepared to pay through the nose. The tax is so high on local distillers that is cheaper to get the stuff shipped from overseas
Hello everybody. As an Australian, I thought I would look up each of these bottles and what they cost here in Australia and then translate over to euros. Morris was about €62 a bottle Starward was about €35 Coastal stone elements in the bourbon cask packaging worked out to about €93 And that Boutique-y whiskey company, Australian series by tin shed, worked out to about €133. Make of that as you will. I’m not generally a whiskey drinker I’m more of a rum person myself, but some of these that you have tried tasted and commented on. I’ll probably try in the near future except for the really pricey ones. Maybe I’ll go check out some of your other tasting videos in the future.
I did some whiskey tasting in Tasmania and loved it. And I thought, great! This is just as good and will be much cheaper than importing Scotch! That was when I was younger and much more innocent....
Dermott and Ciara should come to Tennessee in the USA. I could take them around and ahow them some, lets just say home crafted Tennessee whiskey they would love. Some that are blended, flavored, and some that are as smooth as a cold mountain stream. All are over 120-165 proof. Sipping whiskey at its finest. Then take them to visit Sugarlands distillery and Jack Daniel's distillery.
If you want to try some Starward they do a ginger beer cask release where they age the spirit in barrels of (obviously) ginger beer. It's a cocktail without the mixer and it's absolutely eff-in beautiful!

As a fair Dinkum bloke from down under, I'm offended by the Aussie whiskeys selected. Even the excellent Aussie brand starward got gypped - left field is basically the whiskey version of Forster's (we don't sell it here, it's export only). Missed all the great Tassie ones (Lark, Overeem, Waubs Harbour all are excellent), and Starward themselves have some fantastic offerings. Hopefully it was just too hard to get them shipped from down here. Maybe round 2??
I'm never sure if I lose track of what's being said because of the accents (charming, of course) or the age difference. Or maybe it's a combination of the two. I always appreciate it when you pop up an image of an Irish product that's mentioned.
Interesting fact, Morris is aged in barrels that aged their world class fortified wine barrels. It certainly gives a unique flavour. The distiller also comes from your side of the pond.
I would have to say two of the most impressive whiskies I have every tried come from Australia - Limeburners in Perth have several amazing ones over the past 5 years and the original very late 90s Lark Distillery Whiskies from Tasmania were unparalleled.

The aussie accent is a mixture of Pommie, Irish and Scot accents, it changes depending in where you are in Australia.

I've had Starward 100 Proof and that is amazing. It's a strong shot but has great flavor balance.

The Australian whiskies I've tried are usually single malts finished in wine barrels. Starward Nova is one I've had recently.
