Fireball Black Velvet Returns to Kippford 2023

Another return to Kippford for the Fireball Black Velvet.
We had a great blast out in a very gusty wind and our first capsize for many a year. We successfully self rescued, but thanks to the guys from Solway Yacht Club recuse boat for standing by.

That was fabulous Bob. A proper boat... a wooden one sailing the proper way, knowing what they're doing. The capsize was delightful... Everything bringing back such happy memories. Proper sailors. Thank you Bob and helm. A real treat and much appreciated. Great stuff. Best wishes, Pam xx

As always Pam, thank you so much for your comments😁 Your spot on, a proper boat, not sure about the proper sailors though, but we do our best, and do Ok seeing as we only sail once a year, twice at best, and Norman the helm is even older than me🤣 The last time I capsied was nearly 50 years ago, so yea we wernt too unappy at our recovery

I used to Sail (very Lose useage of the word sail) 16' Bosuns when I was in the Army. Well over 2o years ago. Nowhere near as skilled as yourselves. Nearest we would get to being on the side of the boat to counter act the way the boat edged was sitting on the side. Nice to see a sailing done properly.

Hi, many thanks... yes indeed, the camera mounted on the top of the mainsail worked well I think. Next time I may leave it up there while we sail. I've tried a few other camera angles on some of the previous videos which also worked well for a bit of variety
