    I got an RG351P used only for 40$ wich is great for GBA because it also has a 3:2 screen, also put ArkOS. The sticks are recessed and because of that it's still pocketable. I never leave the house without it.

      RG351M/P solid GBA handhelds for sure. Might be the same screen in the Powkiddy V10

    I'm still torn on this thing. The fact that it has a 4x integer scale 3:2 screen and a metal shell construction makes it super enticing, but I do have to wonder if the power it's packing is actually a bit overkill if you intend to use it specifically for GBA emulation. I feel like maybe they could have gone with a more conservative chip in order to get the price below $200 without it compromising on 4x upscaled GBA performance, but then again this is Aya Neo we're talking about here. They're not really known for making super budget friendly devices.
    I wish I hadn't missed the boat on the RG351M. It seems like the perfect middleground between this thing and something entry level like the Powkiddy V10. Metal construction and a 3:2 screen with a solid CPU in it that can handle GBA emulation no problem, for around $120.

      The RG351M is actually still available. I’ve debated buying it and tossing some Hall Sticks in it

      @@CellPhish The only listings I could find that actually ship to my location were pretty expensive though. I think the cheapest listings I could find were around $150, and some were upwards of $180 which is really pushing it.
      It's not a huge deal either way. The purple RG351P looks nice and I can easily give it WIFI using an adapter for scraping box art and updating stuff. That's probably what I'll end up getting instead.

    thanks for the vid. i cancelled now my preorder. I got the same the impression that the device is more powerful that it actually is. I think i rather go with the redroid 5 or even the mini sounds more tempting to me then. I am intrested in ps2/gc emulation on such a small screen even if you cannot read anything.

      The advantage of the new RP handhelds will definitely be the ability to use Turnip drivers

    I Love the look but i feel like the max people would want to play on a small device like this is n64, idk why they put so much power in it

    • @SukitheValkyrieCorgi
      @SukitheValkyrieCorgi 10 дней назад

      All of "current" budget handheld already done n64 no problem. If this can do ps2 or gamecube really well that'll set it a bar above. Personally I'm hoping to get ps2 gameplay out of this. Small form factor is the selling point for me

    You're comparison was against a dimensity d700 but the h700 in all of 2024s xx anbernic line is allwinner iirc?

    • @CellPhish
      @CellPhish  10 дней назад +1

      So you got me wondering and so I double checked. According to bench testing I can find they are 1 in the same. I don’t doubt that I could have made a mistake here but if I run a bench comparision it literally pulls the same data on anTuTu and Geekbench.

    • @azenyr
      @azenyr 10 дней назад +1

      @@CellPhish Dimensity 700 and H700 have nothing to do with each other. The Allwinne H700 is extremely weak and it's a SoC that is usually dedicated to ultra low power stuff like routers or IoT devices or low end smart TVs, and only gets around 71k points on Antutu. On the other hand, the dimensity 700 is actually a decent chip, and used on tablets and phones. This one gets around 300k points on Antutu, and that is more that 3x the performance of the H700. There is just no comparison at all. The GPU on the H700 is also extremely weak, it barely exists. The Mediatek has a pretty decent GPU. This Helio G99 is, correctly, on par with the dimensity 700, which is GOOD, and lightyears above the Allwinner H700 that you thought you were comparing it to.

    • @azenyr
      @azenyr 9 дней назад +2

      @@CellPhish
      They are actually not the same. The dimensity 700 is lightyears ahead of the Allwinner H700 that Anbernic uses. For comparison, the H700 from anbernic gets around 70k of Antutu score, while the Dimensity 700 gets 300k. That is a huge difference. This Helio G99 is similar to the dimensity 700. true, but both are lightyears ahead of the one that anbernic uses.
